Was lucky enough to see Stevie with the band a few times a great vocalist , when i saw them with latest one i walked out , if ever they do play again it should be with Stevie
Saw them in london as a suprise 18th birthday present,a real sahb fan!
when I got there and realised who was playing I'd thought it would ruin all my years of hearing them on record! The hairs on my arms were standing up by the end of the gig, didnt like stevie..loved him!
Just found the poster, it was the kings head, fulham, sunday 21 aug, 94' I think... they were going to play the george canning brixton, next day! seen them in s'hampton, newport, the wheatsheaf?? all over..Quite why he doesnt play with them, I dont know but its a shame, he has great talent,i'd watch him again..
to tmg8360 , i agree tommy , stevie was a great singer , powerful voice , best i'd heard in a pub!sound is not the best here , plus aw the baw bags here probably never heard him live . nuff said
Now the SAHB are no more. Even the great efforts of singer Max Maxwell couldn't convince Zal to keep playing. He wanted money for a charity gig a few months ago, and the rest of the band fell out with him. Chris Glen's new band 'The Outfit' with Doogie White from Rainbow (and many other bands) are worth checking out though.
I appreciate the effort of the video, but this has to be entered into the World's Worst Camerawork for a Live Performance catagory! Seems much more fascinated with the crowd and the lensmen in no man's land! I wanna see the BAND!!! Thanks anyway - better than nothing, but just slightly! :)
Agreed...we were very, very drunk at the time...amd had acquired a camera somehow...That's why it took thirteen years before anyone got to see this clip...the video of the rest of the gig is enough to make you feel sea-sick !!
Hey folks. I'm looking for info to build an archive website for Peter Goes To Partick. If you have any info you'd like to share - photos, stories, recordings, where-are-they-now type info - leave a comment on my Wordpress blog - track6 - and I'll get back to you with more details.
Apologies if this comment posts twice - I think the first one might fail because I put the full address of my blog and not sure if that's allowed on Youtube.
Hi Tommy the drummer here of PGTP. Had a great time with the band , best years of my life.... still Steve Doc was the best singer I have ever heard in a pup band and SAHB paid £20 a gig more than us;o)
He's Stevie Doherty, a fine singer from Coatbridge, who was a friend of the SAHB guys, and sang with them in the mid-90s : There's an album 'SAHB - Live In Glasgow 1993' if you're really interested
cheers man...you local.?.. Im from Wishaw...AYE The Wee Mans mised A Lot. the good old days when music was not only live' but Played WELL live. talk to ya later mrjon.cheers , DOUGIE
What ever happened to Peter Goes To Partick? Used to follow them (fancied Stevie D actually!) for ages then they just disappeared. Followed them before Stevie D also, think the previous singer was called Stevie too..... Are they still alive??

If your body's feelin' bad
And it's the only one you have
You want to take away the pain
Go out walkin' in the rain
You watch the flowers go to bed
Ask the man inside yah head
Your spirit never has to grieve
All yah got to do's believe ... The faith healer ... !!!

Hehe, understood mrjonthehat, and thanks! It truly is better than nothing, and still fun to hear! :) One of my all-time fave songs. RIP Alex!

Re: Steve D. There is a wee clip of him with Zero Zero (also at Kelvingrove) in about 84/85. Search Zero Zero Live 1985
You might also want to have a look online at Glasband80 for stuff on Glasgow bands of that time.

Hey thanks for that GlasgowKiss101, checked it out and have to say he's a fine singer (and fine figure of a bloke! ). Made my day! Cheers matey.
