I had got Avast version 4.8 installed on three PC's and one of them has received the automatic update message but the other two have not! I wonder what this means! all I can think of is it depends on when you re registered Avast on a particular computer! I am still waiting for the automatic update message for the other two PC's

I've got a problem with my Eset NOD32 antivirus. everytime an error popsup saying ''nod32 update incorrect username or password'' and the popup disappears sometimes after 10 seconds and if there's no internet connection it will popup saying ''nod32 update no internet connection'' and it keeps happening everytime I've got five computer and in all of them this happens.

I like the new Avast , its a very easy to use interface compared to the older more complicated GUI .

Detection rates are quite good too as always .

thanks for spreading the word about this awesome antivirus software. i sware by it, i don't trust anything else. avast does what i need it to do and it does it well. along side that i also use zone alarm as my firewall which i've used for years. i tried a firewall called "Comodo" but that had too many pop ups and was terrible. i also don't recommend norton's or AVG. norton's slows down your pc and AVG, though it used to be as good as avast 5 to 10 years ago, it just dosen't stack up anymore.

the changed the home page, now you have to click on the left side where it says Home and Office to get to the download, check the video description in a little while and I'll put up a new link.

i was allways under the impression that you should never run two AV apps at the same time? i just uninstalled avast 4.8 pro even though it was still paid up because I have Mcafee sec center installed allready...

It depends on if the two AV's are compatible and can work well together.

If avast will not work with another it would give you the warning during install.

question on avast 5, when I click scan it opens to new window with the other icons

but when I click scan now it will not scan. Your veiw showed the different scan modes with start after them. Did my install differ in sum way. Thanks

It could be the virus causing the pc top lock up, try running the boot time scan.

Avast will update itself over the old one most times, if there is a problem avast would let you know and uninstall the old one first.

Dave please help me. Yesterday I formatted my pc & So i've had to re-download avast. The only problem is I forgot the proxy server settings & I know when i followed your old video you've now removed, it worked.

Goto Avast web site and click on support, then type proxy into teh search bar. it will show you instructions for firefox and internet explorer.

ohh bad mistake avg will let the virus's in like its not even there u might aswell not have antivirus at all lol re download avast and change some settings if necasery it shouldnt do that cause im using the new version on win7 and it runs smooth

I have been using camtasia studio for screen capture and I recently got a flip ultra HD it makes videos in MPG4 format and you can not edit them with any program like wmm, only the software that comes with the flip, Plus I have been using my webcam for the mic., it's a mess

One of the first programs I put on my computer was Avast, after I installed Windows XP on it. Very great program, I haven't had any worries about it. Thanks for recommending it!
