The arrangement was done by Connie Dover, based on her version called "Cantus" (in a more traditional style) on the CD "Somebody (Songs of Scotland, Ireland and Early America)". The Latin is how Connie pronounced it, so I assume she coached "This Ascension" as well? It's also in many hymnals under the title "On this day, Earth shall ring".
it's amazing here at Y.T. the beautiful new music keeps on coming. i love the mix of vocals, drums, and awesome pics. you tube and those of u that share music have my love.
iman - any news on them? any chance in hell for a reunion? are you familiar with other bands of their era and genre - woul dyou say they were extremely underrated? i guess because th e 90s were dominated by huge bands like STP et al.
i love This Ascension!! their old stuff is so good but this is good too, i bought the cd sever and i blast it all the time!!

The text is difficult to read with the green on green. Overall, i like this. Dru has a new band called Mirabilis.

Yes it IS Latin. The ORIGINAL composer was a guy named Bach i believe. It was actually a Christmas Carrol...

Una cancion con fuerza interna, el latin le da el aire místico necesario, encanta el espiritu. Criticas siempre las hay.

ach, the pronounciation is horrible!

I don't think so, she's using church latin. It fits, since she sings the line "gloria in excelsis deo"
catiecat101 2 years ago
what does that have to do with it?
"church latin" is horrid, and incredibly mispronounced, it's just wrong.

This Ascension is one of my favorite bands, they're amazing! Not very well known, unfortunately.
