Come on people. God is not God's name. Taking God's name in vain doesn't mean the use of his name. Although it is sacred and should be used in reverence. God in this case is saying don't TAKE my name in vain. Don't say yes I belong to Jehovah God and Jesus Christ and then do nothing about it. So many preaches...nearly all...teach the wrong meaning to this.
Eze 34:1-5 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Eze 34:2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?
...
Eze 34:5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.

absolutely
and the "oh, my God!" is spot on ... i tell friends not to take the name of our LORD in vain and they dismiss it
the world does enough without us adding on to it
"Praise the Lord" has replaced 'how are you?, how do you do?, hi!, good morning!, howsit going?, etc'
truly "christians" are the ones who cause the name of our LORD to be blasphemed by non-believers
The LORD is Sovereign, from everlasting to everlasting.
He shall not and is not to be mocked.
