Great melody! DF wrote the best didn't he? Love the sound from a acoustic guitar! I have never heard the song, done in this way! Great job!All knowing that he played this on piano on tours,I wander if he ever tooled around with the idea?
This song has always made me incredibly blue, but I love it nonetheless. Sounds great, kudos to you for not being afraid to try some of Dan's piano songs on the guitar! You've inspired me to get out some of my old Fogelberg albums and work up more of his songs...
Thanks for listening. An amazing song, isn't it? You can't make this stuff up. The anxiety that we all went through in our youth. In particular, I also relive the aspect that musicians are sort of outcasts that don't really exist in the real world.
I guess I just get frustrated that my arthritis keeps me from playing as well as I should, considering I've been playing for 38 years! But I still enjoy it, and if it brings you some pleasure, I'll keep putting them up.
Alan - lovely take of this on the guitar. And what do you mean your piano playing is worse than your guitar - your guitar playing is wonderful. Give yourself more credit! ((HUGS))
My piano playing is worse than my guitar, if that's possible, but it's been 11 months since Dan passed and this song was on my heart.
Some folks have said that they had a similar experience, but I never did. But I always felt a special melancholoy with this song. I think I had just heard it the night that John Lennon died.
Nice job, Alan. Tough song to sing. It's never been one of my favorite Dan songs, but I like the feel of it on guitar. Would be interesting to hear what Dan would've done with it on guitar.

works either way, but there are so many intricate parts with the piano that are missed.
My father passed away this afternoon, so the snow has definately turned to rain tonight...Thanks for writing in.

A lovely tribute to Dan Fogelberg, and a fine interpretation of the song in its own right.
