  • man i had never tried maxing out the clean preamp on mine - thats a pretty cool AC/DC type tone you got going with that. I just got an EQ pedal to put in the effects loop, sounds even more amazing with a little mid hump in there - not to mention the nice overall volume boost. I was thinking of replacing the speaker, but no need with the EQ

  • Nice gain tone! What speakers do you use on this vid? And did you use any boost pedal?

  • @prabowoputra no pedals bro, and the speakers are a gt75 in a marshall 1960a!

  • OMG

  • Does the amp have a built in tuner? I guess not

  • @jasenorthblues

    AHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAH

  • @jasenorthblues ah fuck off smart ass, its not that bad..

  • i love! the tone i get out of this amp with max volume on the clean channel and master volume.

its an epic amp for the price

  • nice demo dude, how does the amp take pedals?

  • @Daine117 thanks man,

i use enhancing pedals like badmonkey, mxr EQ and a decimator and the amp loves em. the wah is good and the delay is the way it should be. as for dirt pedals i dont see a need for them here but i can t see why it wouldn't take them sweet!

  • hey man, you're videos have always really helped me out. I'm actually getting my hands on an ht-60. I had a question though. I've been using a tube 15 watter, cranked for my band. And it sounds great especially after pedals. Can you crank the 60 and just turn down the master volume? I know it gets harder to crank with more watts.. but i wondered if that was possible on this amp.

  • @punkmusicmetal actually, to be more specific, can i get power amp distortion at a low volume? Or does the volume knob not work that way? My 15 watter got that nice power amp overdrive and wondered if i could get that on the ht-60 without being too loud during a club/basement gig.

  • @punkmusicmetal the clean channel does break up with the master at a low volume with the channel volume. But its just not as good as it is with the master cranked!

  • @punkmusicmetal i'd imagine the 100 watter is not too far different to the 60, and its hard to get broken cleans at low volume, but a boost deffinitely works the charm here1

  • liked the demo,

does this amp has a OD1 and OD2?

    and is this footswitchable?

  • @JosSlagers Nah dude, just 2 channels clean and overdrive, but it comes with a single foot switch that changes between the 2 channels

  • @JosSlagers no it does not

  • can you tell me if the equalization works in cklean mode::??

  • @blackmorejimi nope, the clean channel only has a single tone knob

  • When I played this amp, I couldn't get the same kind of jangly marshall overdrive tones as you can get from the HT-5. It seems to kind of do it with the clean cranked, but for me it didn't break up at all at low volume.

  • Will this amp alone do modern metal or does it need a boost?

  • @nblax41 Well not really modern metal like killswitch or an "ENGL" tone. mainly due to its overly middy voicing and not so much not having enough gain. Its got the gain to pull of metal easy but its not going to be scooped unless you put an EQ in the loop, then shit gets HEAVY. Boosting high gain amps ALLWAYS helps the tone though, havent met an amp that didn;t like a good boosting

  • @gtjumper Thanks, I've been looking into one of these for a new amp and I'm a little weary about dishing out $700 for one that won't do what I want it to. As long as it can do Metallica and the likes alone I'll be fine, I can pick up a good OD later along the way

  • @nblax41 ah dude you overdrive this thing and its a metal monster, it likes the mxr EQ in the loop too!

  • @gtjumper hey, is there a cheap and easy way to boost the gain for that metal sound that he was asking for?

  • @punkmusicmetal Digitech badmonkey, cheap and nasty pedal that gets along with the blackstar amps perfectly.

  • @gtjumper the bad monkey is cheap but it definately isn't nast :O

  • @LeeW54 hahahaha i agree! i dont feel the need to upgrade.

  • hello,good demo

whats the differents between the th20 and the ht5?

do they have the same sound?

is it possibile in your opinion to play with those on stage? (with mic and monitors)

    thanx

  • @jeffdisario

Hey dude, I havent Had the HT-20 on stage yetg but i have had it unmiced in band practice with 2 guitarists, it has the volume

In regards to the sound, its everything the HT-5 is and more, better cleans, more gain, smoother musical breakup. But its definitely got the HT-5 flavour in the voicing.

  • @oskifumi Its a great amp dude!

  • @oskifumi great, its the only amp i play at home. But i play a little louder then say TV level :)

  • You can keep trying, but I don't think the ISF is active on the clean channel...

  • @mtarolli you think 100% accurately mate, the cleaan has no isf, its only for the gain channel.

  • not versitile amps and to me sound very thin what i personaly do not like

  • @charlestheguitarist1

Love or hate the amps but one trick horses they are not, they have great cleans channel which goes right up to gunners tone and gain level (even more) and remains very sweet. the gain channel might sound thin when next to say an engl or a 5150 but in a mix it slaughters, especially when boosted.

What style do you think this amp simply cannot pull off?

  • I want to get an amp for metal (Thrash, NWOBHM, Swedish Melodic Death) and for use mainly in my small apartment. I have ordered a 6505+ 112 combo, but seriously consider this, because of its low wattage, that makes it more suitable for home use. Do you think that I can deliver that kind of gain? I have a pair of GFS Power Rails high output humbuckers on my Ibby. Would I need an overdrive or booster?

  • @dimgrav for saturated metal like you are describing, yes, you need a boost. but i have found that with a boost these amps sound so very much like a 6505 but better at low volumes. long story short, if you have the money to get this for home use then do so coz it has sooooo much more diversity then the 6505.

  • @gtjumper Thank you, I see. Actually, the 6505+ is more expensive than the HT-20, so money is not an issue. So, do you think that a TS-7, perhaps combined with an EQ, would do the trick for me? Or do I need something "better"?

  • @dimgrav the HT amps cut like just as well as a 6505 but do need a boost for the smaller HT to get them up to 6505 gain. but honestly dude, if you dont need a clean channel the 6505 will be better at metal low volume or at gig volume.

  • @gtjumper Thanks man, I'll stick to the 6505+ then :)

  • ih i have the same amps !!!

is fantastic, my favourites setting is low gain and the full volume on the overdrive channel!

What do you think of celestion vintage 30 on this combo?

    bye!!

  • @MrThelimegreen I like the GT-75 to brighten up the tone a bit but the V30 runs fine with it!

  • cool demo im geting the ht 40 in a few days a litterly can not wait
