@AA72AA72 The reason why I said the cards got lucky is because they got into the postseason on the last day of the regular season. I never said that beating the Phils was based on luck. Carpenter pitched a great game, and the phillies played like shit. You don't need to argue man.
@brez8245 Don't be so sure. Albert was one of the best players in our franchise history, but one man does not make a team. The NL Central is ours this year.
IT still hurts to watch this after all these months, what the hell is wrong with me why am I tortoring myself reliving this nightmare......poor Ryan it sucked to see him like that, also I'm sure the fans aren't booing Howard specifically they are booing the pathetic outcome of the game, not getting a single run are u fucking kidding me?? Props to St. Louis though they were incredible all the way through.
I'm a Cardinals fan who was happy and relieved but I had a hard time celebrating because I was worried about Howard. I respect the hell out of him and I hope he makes a quick recovery from his injury

@PHuckinCHAMPS26 it's Maunels fault too. He acted like our bench wasn't even there. I mean didn't Ben Francisco only get like 1 at bat the whole series? Look what he did in that at bat. Won game 3 for us.
Its pretty interesting. I love how all the Cardinals talk shit over the internet yet when i was at game 5 i did not see one shit talker. @pussys internet trolls
we upset their season in 2010, now the cards do it in 2011, guess the phillies and their fans cant stop getting cocky the whole regular season, karma's a bitch isn't it
i am a Braves fan, i been waiting for the Phillies to end this season with an upset. i like the way the cards were playing and glad they are champs. I hated the phillies and signing Jonathan PapelBUM is stupid. PHILLIES SUCK.. Ryan Howard is a fuckin crybaby.. glad he isnt playing half the season.
Too bad it was David Freese with the walk off homeruns, and Howard looked like a little leaguer!! The Cardinals fans are way better than your measley fans with no class, and how many Championships do you have again!! Ha HA we blew you guys out in the first round!! So much for the best team in baseball! You choked when it counted, and so did all the rest!! Albert with his historic night, and the rest of the team with their own major accomplishments! I love rubbing it in your Philly ASS!!
I am a die-hard Phillies fan, and I hate the bandwagon fans the team got after 08 and 09. The fans booing Howard as he is helped off the field are clearly not Phillies fans at all. After I watched this game happen, I just said to myself, "Well, it's baseball." Things like this happen. It just makes me sick seeing a fan boo his own team. This guy is not a real Phillies fan, he just thinks he is. Congrats to the Cardinals, they got lucky, and they made the most out of it.
When is outpitching the other team "lucky". Why do you think they lost to the Giants the year before? THEY GOT OUTPITCHED!!!!!! Two years in a row the Phillies "franchise" star fails miserably when the game is on the line LMFAO!!!!!! . I'll take Lincecum, Cain, and Wilson versus Lee, Halladay and Papelbon ANYDAY. Why, because they pitch in so many low scoring tight ball games where one mistake is the game. Why do you think we called the 2010 season "torture".
Booing? All of those people need to cut the guy some slack. He is under no obligation to make every clutch hit. I'm glad I herd some people claping too when he was walking, but really?
@Utes2166 In St Louis, we respect the game and support our team under any circumstance. The Phillies are a great franchise but they were outplayed in this series.
Can't these idiots just watch the game without recording it on their stupid little phones ... no one can just take things in anymore; everyone has to record everything. Get a fucking life
@Tansey81 Some people enjoy recording their memories. You aren't complaining about those who record their weddings or birthday parties, do you? And are you serious about this moment not being rare? It's pretty fucking uncommon, considering the last out of a PLAYOFF ELIMINATION GAME OF A GAME THAT YOU ARE ATTENDING only happens once....I'm pretty sure.....
@emvee999 - What exactly are you arguing with me for, numbnuts? It's my opinion that people are way too quick to record EVERYTHING with their dumb little phones (playoff elimination games, game 2 of the NLDS, game 4 of the ALCS, an Eagles regular season game, whatever) ... and I think it's stupid. What; people are so bored they have to watch shit they've already done? What happened to simply TAKING IN THE MOMENT?
And like a 'playoff elimination game' is something you need to record, lol ...
@Tansey81 I'm wondering why you're bitching about people record memories with their phones, while being ignorant of what they're actually recording. Sure it may be a redundant to record meaningless plays in sports events, but this is the last fucking out of a playoff baseball game. This is not a common event, and you need to get that in your head. It's interesting to see the reactions of the crowd when the final out takes place, and to see their reaction, something ESPN doesn't show you.
@emvee999 - An NLDS elimination game isn't all that uncommon nor unprecedented the way you're making it out to be, champ. Calm down about it - it's just the NLDS.
Yes, anything's possible. The girl sitting in front of you could flash her tits, you never know. But again it's my opinion that people should relax, put away their stupid phones, and just TAKE THINGS IN! But no, we have to record everything and watch things we've already done and seen over and over again...
@Tansey81 It's not that uncommon? Really? Pretty sure it only happens in one day out of the other 365 days of the year. It's just the NLDS? Really? It's the playoffs, no matter what game, it's important. This happened to be the final game for either team. It's either win and advance or lose and spend the next 6 months training.
Once again, people can take things in AND record their with their phone, it's called multitasking. Taking things in does NOT require 100% undivided attention.
@emvee999 - That's right. It's not all that uncommon, and it's just the NLDS. (Do you think anyone remembers the Phillies clinching the NLDS last year?) No one cares if you don't win the World Series. The NLDS is just the opening round ... calm down and get over yourself.
I said it before and I'll continue to say it: I think people are jackasses for having to feel the need to record things like this instead of soaking it in and not watching it through a little phone ...
@Tansey81 Once you whip out your phone and hold it out and record it, does it take any more effort? No, you're still TAKING IT IN, derp. And you're complaining about people watching things over and over again....that's such an idiotic argument. What is the point of sports highlights then? You think people shouldn't be able to have nostalgia or reminisce about that certain moment?
@emvee999 (2) - I mean, seriously. What do you get out of something like this once it's recorded? Are you so bored with your life that you'll actually go back and watch something you've already seen and done? (Sports highlights are there primarily for people who didn't see the game, genius. Totally different thing.)
lol @ 'juxtaposition' ... jesus, calm down. This isn't Scorecese showing Ray Liotta walk through a kitchen to get to a club. You make me laugh...
@Tansey81 What if Ryan Howard were to hit a homerun and tie the game? What if he got a base hit? All these what if's enforce one's decision to record the last out. And oh yeah, this was the last time you would have been able to see the Phillies play for another 6 months, no more baseball until next year. You still think it was wrong and idiotic to record this moment? Just please stop commenting then.
@emvee999 (2) - lol, 'it's interesting to see the reactions of the crowd when the final out takes place' ... let me guess: if the home team wins, people cheer and hug, right? And if they lose they're all disappointed? Whoa, so interesting. I could have never figured that out had this idiot not recorded it. Thanks so much!
@Tansey81 I'm still not understanding how the uploader is an idiot. Clearly he was excited for the moment and wanted to share to people. He probably has an emotional connection to this moment, and thanks to technology he can relive it. As for others watching this moment, look at the description. I came to this video to see the injury. I thought it was interesting to see the juxtaposition between the players celebrating and Howard griefing. People have different reasons to watch videos, man.
@emvee999 (3) - Yes, I find the uploader to be an idiot for feeling the need to record an NLDS game instead of simply taking it in. People get so caught up in their phones and hardly anyone can just sit back, enjoy the moment, and not feel the need to record these things ... and I find it sad. It's my opinion. Oh, I don't need a 'first hand' experience to tell me that the home crowd will cheer and hug at victory, and be upset in defeat. (I guess you do, though.)
@Tansey81 Newflash: People can take things in WHILE they are recording with their phone. It doesn't take much effort to whip out your phone and hold it up to record. After that, you have Full attention on whatever you're taking in. Lastly, I didn't solely come to this video to see the crowd's reaction. I came to see Howard's injury, as ESPN wouldn't air it.I found it to be interesting the see the juxtaposition between victory and loss. People have different reasons to watch videos. Why you hating?
@Tansey81 Also, why are you acting like an NLDS game isn't important? It definitely would be important to the uploader because he was..at the game. Guess what? There were 2 hours of moments that the uploader "took in" without recording. This happened to be a key moment of the game. We all know the crowd's reaction when something happened, but some could think it could be interesting to see it FROM the stands, not a broadcast view. If you want to continue to be narrow-minded and ignorant, go ahead.
@Tansey81 Look at the uploader's name : 1980PHILS2008. If you cannot see the importance as to why he uploaded the video, you should gain some knowledge. This was potentially the last out for the Phillies season, and it was. After that it was 6 months of no games. It doesn't take much effort to whip out your phone and record, after that you have full attention on what you're doing. It's like the phone isn't even there. All it takes is one hand......
@emvee999 - I'm a huge NY Giants fan. If I'm at a wildcard game and they're down four with :06 left, but have the ball on the opponent's nine yard line, I don't feel the need to whip out my phone and record the final play like I'm 12. I'm just taking it in. But I know, I know; everywhere you go, there's some putz with a camera recording everything. I mean, no one stops and looks at things anymore ... god forbid we just take things in and I don't know ... remember them. Crazy.
@emvee999 (2) - Seriously; is that such a strange notion? Does experience have to documented and saved ... and do people really watch this shit? Are their lives so bankrupt that they sit at home looking at things they already did?
That's all I'm saying. I say we should move on now. Cool?
@Tansey81 Experience doesn't HAVE to be documented and saved, but what's wrong with doing so? And people aren't going to go home RIGHT after this event and watch it, but maybe after many years later they might. You don't view memories as soon as you record them lmao, but maybe 20 or 30 years later you want to remember what it was like at that baseball game, there's nothing wrong with that.
@emvee999 - Yeah, I hear you, it's just a fundamental difference I suppose. And perhaps I am overreacting to how people seem to record everything nowadays instead of simply taking things in (a lost art.) Either way, point taken.
Now if the Phillies didn't hammer my Braves at the end of the season, they would've been playing at least in the NLCS. Gotta play your cards right sometimes.
I really feel horrible for Ryan Howard. I'm a Phillies fan and I understand being frustrated, but booing Howard off the field while he's carried off with a torn achilles tendon is just wrong. I feel ashamed to be a Phillies fan after the way that they booed Howard off the field when he had a torn achilles tendon. That's just terrible.
@dooksucks4ever I know how you feel. I, too, love our teams. Philadelphia has many great and knowledgable fans, but there are so many assholes. It will never change. From the City who boos Santa Claus....
@mweiford well i dont know if its good or not but it sure as hell is really strong cause in reality philly fans are by far the least knowledgable. Its real easy to tell just as soon as they open their mouth and next to redscum fans they whine the most. Nothing really to brag about if you know what i mean
As a life long Cardinal fan I am super happy for them. Hate to see Howard go down like that. He will be back though by spring training. The expressions on the fans faces afterword was something thought. Total shell shock. One friend from Philly said it best the Cardinals just wanted it more.
@dooksucks4ever The faster they do the surgery the better for him. He will be in a cast and/or walking boot for about 12 weeks and they will probably begin weight bearing rehab after 9 weeks. School I coach at we had a kid rupture his and it was early in football season last year and he fully recovered before end of school year. He is playing football and will powerlift in Dec.
@Senseial Yeah I just hope he gets that surgery and gets better ASAP... from what happened to your football player it sounds like it might be a little under a year
@dooksucks4ever I am sure they have better treatments on the Phillies too. What is something is how fast they get them back to working out. Old days of laying around for months is gone. Lifter friend of mine in Mn. had heart attack they did bypass and a year later he was competing again. With pro sports trainers and rehab I would not be surprised to see Howard back by end of June.
@Senseial If he could be back by end of June or even July that would be awesome. Howard's a pretty tough guy, I'm sure he'll hang in there, I just hope his surgery and recovery go well
:(

@emvee999 - Yeah, I hear you, it's just a fundamental difference I suppose. And perhaps I am overreacting to how people seem to record everything nowadays instead of simply taking things in (a lost art.) Either way, point taken.

@Tansey81 It's interesting to see it from a FIRST HAND point of view. It enhances the experience.

Now if the Phillies didn't hammer my Braves at the end of the season, they would've been playing at least in the NLCS. Gotta play your cards right sometimes.

I hope Ryan Howard misses a lot and I mean a LOT of time. Sweetness at its finest!!!!!!!!

@mweiford philly has great knowledgable fans? What are you smoking? Class 1 IDIOTS!

@MrBillyBatts1 I only smoke the good stuff Billy!

@mweiford well i dont know if its good or not but it sure as hell is really strong cause in reality philly fans are by far the least knowledgable. Its real easy to tell just as soon as they open their mouth and next to redscum fans they whine the most. Nothing really to brag about if you know what i mean

@dooksucks4ever That is wrong and I'm a Met fan

As a life long Cardinal fan I am super happy for them. Hate to see Howard go down like that. He will be back though by spring training. The expressions on the fans faces afterword was something thought. Total shell shock. One friend from Philly said it best the Cardinals just wanted it more.

@Senseial Howard wont be back till August :(

@dooksucks4ever The faster they do the surgery the better for him. He will be in a cast and/or walking boot for about 12 weeks and they will probably begin weight bearing rehab after 9 weeks. School I coach at we had a kid rupture his and it was early in football season last year and he fully recovered before end of school year. He is playing football and will powerlift in Dec.
Senseial 4 months ago
@Senseial Yeah I just hope he gets that surgery and gets better ASAP... from what happened to your football player it sounds like it might be a little under a year
dooksucks4ever 4 months ago
@dooksucks4ever I am sure they have better treatments on the Phillies too. What is something is how fast they get them back to working out. Old days of laying around for months is gone. Lifter friend of mine in Mn. had heart attack they did bypass and a year later he was competing again. With pro sports trainers and rehab I would not be surprised to see Howard back by end of June.
Senseial 4 months ago
@Senseial If he could be back by end of June or even July that would be awesome. Howard's a pretty tough guy, I'm sure he'll hang in there, I just hope his surgery and recovery go well
