Way to throw out another uselessly generic piece of advice. On the contrary, the best thing to do to avoid stage fright is to get lost in the music. If you focus on getting the song right instead of "looking cool", the rest will come to you eventually. You're going to mess up every now and then, but you have to be okay with that. Shit happens. The more you don't care about what people think, the better you will be.
@Killer21335 Okay, go up there and if someone gives you a funny look, just give up and never try it again. Then kill yourself, too, since you're a pussy and can't handle yourself. Better?
@Nickeyp1 haha me too! If someone comes in my room when I'm playing and they ask me to play a song, I literally get sweaty, hot and short of breath. Then leave lol
@THEREALMOSH2 rickenbackers suck, there is a reason they dont make amps, and that their last attempt to stay alive with ugly shitty guitars didn't work.......they could not keep up and orange amps stole the spot light for people who want to sound like shit with out of date amps!!!
its weird like, im not scared of playin in front of people, but still i start to like shake and stutter, idk cause inside im like "what the hell? i not scared of being here why am i shakeing?" idk wat to do..
i have stage fright i play guitar i try up on y schools talent show and play then my hand starts to shake and i just ferget what to play i have it so badly in school play i use to be behind the seens i just hate that i got stage fright now ive gotta play guitar in front of a few people then prefom infront of alot of people i dont know what to do :S
do what i do since im in a band. for all our shows i just tell myelf there not looking at me theyre looking at he drums untill you start to play good then you get the atention but by that time you should feel more comfy. if that dosnt work jus think the most logical thing, the crowd is just a bunch of organs in skin made mostly of water sitting or standing in front of the stage, again only do this at the beggngig of a show or youll look weird, jus put on kikass show and jus think bout the music
im 12 i had my first gig a year ago i was lead sing i was scared to death but then i thought there here becase im good so dont worry bout them u wouldent be there if u wernt good
i just go and have a shit, that usually works, or several left handed cigarettes!!!!!!.. hecklers in the audience usually just get shouted down or punched.. that works well.. they then stop.
i think it was an amazing advice! its really helpful and professional. you are there to give a nice performance that what you gotta think of... well i see your point guys that 'i alrdy knew this' etc etc but if you have a stage fright you dont really think of that, now do you? no. so he reminded you of that.
wow possibly the worst advice ever. all you told us was that not to picture them in their underwear. also talk yourself up like if your about to kill yourself to talk yourself out of it. this sounded basically like a father talking to his son before his first football game.
Stagefreight used to rips me apart! It's taken me YEARS to get over it!!! I used to be so embarassed about my lack of stage presence and I've gotten bashed for it in the past, and that was sooo painful.
This past few months something finally broke free in me and I only fully realised it when people started telling me how much they're attracted to my energy, watching me play and sing, and my presence!!!
All you can do is KEEP PERFORMING, someday you'll get over your stiffness and fear.
the best part of this was "don't worry," and "you can't please everyone," because there will always be someone who hates your performance, so remember all the times people have liked it.
@surfahgirl that comment was 5x better then the video itself. The Beatles may have sold the most albums out of all time, but people held rallies to burn their recordings
Thanx for your advice.. I'm having a tiny holiday-performance at school tomorrow. And last year I screwed up pretty bad because when I was standing there.. I was trying to boost my confidence but just the fact that everyone was watching me seemed kinda embaressing and I just started laughing out of nothing and I couldn't stop.. It was humiliating!
Maybe it was because I thought the whole thing was stupid and that I was involved.. but now I'm more optimistic and confident, I think it'll work out!;) Thanx
