  • he is type cast, everything he does is "Jack as...", where as actors I prefer become like a different person. Oldman, Hopkins, to name but two, are far more entertaining to watch.

  • I do not think he is a true actor, he is a "star" a personality put into roles. I did like him in The Departed, but I find his performances one dimensional and flat. Edward Norton is a far better actor, he seems like a different person in every role. That is what acting is supposed to be, not the Hollywood celebrity jerk off sessions Jack gets. "As Good as it Gets" is as far away from his personality he has ever acted, and that was just adding a neurosis to his usual self.
