It is definitely not the original band & every artist on the show sang to tracks. D-train had his own track. the bands history francisdepuydt got it right. They where just studio musicians & put together tracks they released. Back in the day there where groups from NY. That played on each others hits, and they had no desire to leave NY. hearing their songs on the radio & being released was enough. They would be a group just long enough to make an album and then spilt 2 other groups/projects
I've always wondered...when singers "perform" over recorded tracks like these are doing, is it because they don't know the song well enough to actually play it, or is it because they CAN'T play it for some reason? Anyone who is familiar with the record knows the record is playing and not the "band".
Man, I have this DVD and wish to upload CHANGE - You Are My Melody with these guys performance; as so as Lover´s Holiday and Glow of Love. As I donpt know how to upload from the DVD, do you mind upload them on Youtube? Thanks.
@andyred123 Hi Andy, yes it is great...pls leave me your email address and I will put you all details of the DVD. By the way I bought it at HMS between Picadilly and Leicester Square.
the singer is Rick Brennen...late Change singer.... but not on this tune!!!...original vocalist was Ike Floyd.... Brennen an the girls are singing over the original song (1980) ....bass was played by Davide Romani....guitars by Paolo Gianolio...keyboerds by "Maestro" Mauro Malavasi!!!
original song was an italian production between Mauro Malavasi & J.F. Petrus...Fonoprint studios, Bologna for the music...Mediasounds, N.Y.C. for the vocals
some original players were Davide Romani (bass), Paolo Gianolio (guitars), Terry Silverlight (drums) & keyboards by Malavasi himself...
original lead vocals by Ike Floyd...you can hear him under the "ooows" and the "yeahs" of those singers...
Do you ahve the lyrics available? The thing is taht I'm a native spanish speaker so I don't understand the song fully. howver the beat is amazing!!!!!
WOW I'm completely blown up , thank you for the posting , I was looking for them everywhere , supreme music for supreme times , remembering my beautiful youth , dancing under REAL music ,with this we are always in the mainstream , our children will be proud of us , Love and Peace to Everyone , thank you again
Sadly not , because Curtis passed away as a cause of his diabetes , on the 18th of January 1996 at the N.C. Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, U.S.A.
No kidding! The Change and Peter Jacques Band family's B.B. and Q. Band, produced, in this case, by the legend himself: Mauro Malavasi, today the producer for Andrea Bocelli. That's how much talent was going around in those days! A close second to this track is "Dreamer", a masterpiece.
think i gona hunt that 1 down now skatepatrol... shit, iv not got time for mymates these days i graft so much but i always seem to find time to obsess music...
Isn't this is what exposed Milli Vanilli??? Lip-Syncing??? I love the group, but it's sad they had to resort to this....during a live performance yet.
@cpipkinsr21 milli vanilli got famous when people found out that the lead singers were NOt the ones singing the actual vocals on the recordings. there's a difference
definitely some lip sync going on there, but I still love the record and have the album buried somewhere in old school collection. Where did you find this vid??
Oh my goodness, I never seen this band perform. It's amazing how the background vocals sonund as thought they originally did in the 80's,HMMMM could it be lip sync? I hear horns where are the visiuals for them?
what happened to the guitar player? The original guitarist for the band is the extremely talented Chieli Minucci(Special EFX).
Unfortunately this is NOT the BB&Q Band but artists who (illegaly) pretend to be during a Tribute To The Disco Funk event in Paris-Bercy. The BB&Q Band has never existed as a real live act or a touring band, they were a studio project! They might have done a few promotional live gigs in 1981 and 1982 in different line-ups but that's it! What you see is former Change lead vocalist Rick Brennan and a few other artists performing (lip-sync) as BB&Q Band. Poor show!
Ike Floyd was, but just for one album. Kevin Robinson and Curtis Hairston (+) also were lead singers of the 2 following B.B. & Q. Band projects. B.B.&Q. Band was a studio group. Malavasi, Romani, Trevisi, Gianolio, Silverlight, etc. were the real guys behind B.B.&Q. Band.
This is just a lip-syncing... no good...

Bunch of part time actors and waitresses . And real people like Oliver Cheatham still singing live and giving great performances and REAL singing.
This is disappointing.
