Haha, this is the same thing that happened when I introduced my friends older guinea pig to my baby guinea pig. The big one thought the little piggy had a really sexy back side since he went into this purring frenzy and tried to mount the baby and we ended up with a flat squealing baby underneath the big one. They got along well but I had to use the hand barrier method whenever he started getting too rough with him.
@horselover1367 Exactly as PiggyChannel said- plus, show the baby lots of affection, if you just bought it the baby may be scared and not eating or drinking. Show the baby lots of love.
i have a male guinea pig and just got a friend for him(male) i put them together and they seem like ther wer getting alone just fine. but next morning one of my olds guinea pigs ear was bleeding and ther was blood on the other pigs leg. so i have them separated in the cage. hopefully theyll get use to eachother and stop fighting.
Your not suppose to interfere when they are meeting unless they are about to fight, shoulda let them be, its normal behavior, not good for them to interact with them unless they are fighting, its not to harmful, its just better... and maybe be a little quieter...? seriously....
It's nice to read that they are buddies now. I must say that you didn't socialize them optimally. Normally male guinea pigs need more place, several hideouts with more than one entry, foods for distraction, and it's important not to interrupt them, except there are serious injuries.
Nevertheless Pippin was young and had his baby-bonus ;) So it's easy to socialize them.
@HerrLeutnant67 You know, if you want to cast asperations on someone's intelligence merely for being amused, you might want to ensure your own spelling and grammar is immaculate. Just a friendly suggestion.
did timmy eventually stop biting pippin and stuff? Becuase my female guinea pig is doing the same thing to the other new female guinea pig (besides humping)
i got two guinea pigs that r about a month apart and my older pig keeps mounting the other piggy and does it continuously , and the other one looks scared and runs toward me 4 protection. people have said this is normal guinea pig behavior. but im just not buying it. i guess he's showing his dominance but i want to know does the humping ever stop. right now i have them separated in the cage. The separations cuts their space in half and makes it uncomfortable. what do i do?
Timmy is showing dominance to the new guy. That's why he mounts the little one. It was a good idea to only introduce a young male to Timmy because this way the leader is undisputed. The young pup will automatically let the big guy lead. I had the same situation with my two male GP's. Nice Guinea pigs!
aww they are playing tag :)

Hopefully they become buddies like Timmiy and Pip eventually did. Keep them near each other so they'll get bored and communicate.
