  • just did this course dec 12 and passed it. and i went to dmv and passed their test!! getting my license in 2-3 weeks! greatness! anyone who wants to ride should start with the msf course. it helps!

  • I LIVE IN MANHATTAN NEW YORK IS IT AVAILABLE FOR ME

  • @TheBroChaCho type in MSF Ridercourse in the search bar and see what you can find out

  • Anybody wipe out?

  • @TexasMan77 Not when I went to the training. I had some close calls!

Turning and stopping is dumb, don't try it with the front brake XD When you put your foot down you get a feel of that 300+ lbs REAL QUICK! But no one fell. There were only about 8 of us when I went. Small class.

I have never experienced ANYTHING better than riding that Yamaha Virago 250. I've not been so fortunate, but I'll get me a bike one day. It's inevitable :D After I passed the training I knew it was for me.

  • @akl3g Don't be nervous. I just finished mine this weekend and it's great. They made sure to get rid of my bad habits and I made a lot of new friends. I had a few weeks riding experience before the course and that did help, but I found I was doing some things that could potentially hurt me so the training course was worth all the time invested.

  • Military offers free classes :). signed up for one in 3 weeks.

  • @akl3g Don't be nervous. Soldiers die for our freedom! Make good use of it. Ride :)

  • I remember this taking this class back in AZ. It was def. a needed class. I am about to take the MSF sportbike class next month, that should be even better.

  • This actually looks kinda fun haha. Compared to a car course. I dont remember them putting out 6 different kinds of cars and saying "PICK ONE!"lol. Thats awesome

  • @heroes91092 Hey good point. I call dibs on the Cayman S!

  • @heroes91092 I had an opportunity to ride the Yamaha Virago 250. It was a sweet bike with the laid back handlebars and throaty muffler. I think the uniqueness of it steered others away from it, but it was a weekend of comfort and I was sad to leave it for my Suzuki GZ250.

  • Ok the course is worth it...I took it this past weekend (did everything good then I choked on the very last part and well ya I failed :( but) but if you don't know how to ride it's great I learned so much and I should of passed damn me being nervous but ya worth everypenny

  • @KRZR24rat I choked on one of the last parts too, but did the rest well enough. Instructor told me to practice a lot when I got a bike. I actually WANT a 250 bike (ex. Suzuki TU250 or Yamaha V-Star 250) instead of something bigger! Even though I'm from Texas I know medium or small can be more fun. Safety first when it comes to motorcycling. If you can figure how to be more safe do it! For example, wearing a red, or yellow helmet instead of black. You don't notice black at night.

  • In MI. it depends on when you take it. Most colleges offer it for like 25$ but those classes git filled up quick and are only certain months with the last one the second week of Sep. After or before the set time and/or if you don't schedule, your stuck with the 300$ class

  • Course is FREE in PA to residents

  • @iSkateFast what?!? are u sure its free? i live in philly..

  • lol thats had to be mccain, he sounded just like him let alone he looked like him

  • Why the MSF would condone 3/4 helmets is beyond me. Would they approve of a tank top mc jacket as well?

  • @RepublicanDumbAss 3/4 helmet is dot approved lol.. all you need to were for msf here is a helmet gloves boots long pants and a long shirt

  • Only cost me 25 dollars in Michigan! I wonder why it costs more in other states?

  • @nicnlac Damn $25? I just spent $350 to take this course in NY!

  • @hunter371 what school did you go to? a name or something i can google?

  • @splitlenz The class was offered through Trama's Auto School on Long Island

  • @nicnlac some states subsidize payments.

  • I love this class, it's really fun and easy for the most part. the figure eight in the box was the hardest thing for me. something like emergency braking while shifting down to 1st at the same time just took practice. The best part had to be swerving. It was worth the $125. i recommended it to anyone who interested in riding a motorcycle.

  • Wow! this is the exact same place i went to when i took my course. This is the one in Colton, Ca

  • If youre under 21, the course is $150 in Cali

  • I just bought my first motorcycle today. My budget is kind of tight what all riding gear is required? Please help.

  • Legally, it depends on what state you live in if you are required to wear a helmet or not. Sensibly; a leather jacket with armor, quality leather gloves, a DOT/Snell helmet (preferably a fiberglass composite), over-ankle boots, jeans if not riding pants. These things will help, but not guarantee, your well being in the event of a crash.

Look for deals or used equipment. You should buy your helmet new so you know its history; doesn't mean you can't find a great deal on a closeout model.

  • Helmet, gloves, jacket, boot, and pants. Everything. haha

  • If you really think about getting your m1 liscense is easier to get than your driver's liscense, it's like taking driver traini

  • what is the advanced course? i'm taking my bike test soon so is this course for someone who has got a bike licence & wants to be more advanced or is it for a course to just get a licence to be able to ride a bike? am abit confused haha,

  • The MSF Rider Ed courses are broken into different skill levels. BRC is the Basic Rider course for beginning riders or those who are returning after a long lay off everything is provided . ERC is for those who have been riding for a minimum of 2 years, you provide your own bike and gear. ARC is the newest, with fewer students and more road time.

  • great, thanks for the reply :-)

  • Good course :-)

i was quoted $250 here in California. Wow.

  • That's the price I paid. Well worth it in my opinion =0)

  • yeah it was fun :)

  • that was a shitty head turn, that was like nothing. the course is easy for guys atleast, prob a lil easier for guys because the weight or power doesnt worry us as much

  • its pretty much like riding a bike really but faster

  • for advanced ridercourse, are you allowed to bring a Ninja zx14?

its my uncles and unfortunately the only bike available for me

  • i'm still 17 =) its $80 for me

    taking the 19th

  • i had to pay $170 for it. i just passed it today.

if you have riding experience its going to be a breeze. if you dont, you may fail but its no problem because they let you retake it for free

plus you get discount on insurance. and you dont have to take the DMV riding test

  • This class is for beginners.

I passed it and got my class M license before I ever learned to drive a manual car. And I hardly slept each night I was so excited! So if I could pass it so could most everyone else. And everyone made mistakes : )

Took 2 days. It is worth 2 yrs. experience. I recommend 2 years car driving before you get this, to learn how to read other drivers.

Got experience? Take the advanced course.

It was fun for me, but the real fun comes when you get your own bike ; )

  • I can't waitttttttttttttttttt I'm taking the class on Sept 5-6 in Bronx, NY I'm so excited!

  • @submissions72 that's awesome. Did you pass? What company did you use to do the training?

  • im takin this soon, damn this looks mad ass easy. im so ready for this

  • 3.17 LOL

  • SOMEONE GET THE KAWI NINJA 250R!!!!

  • @HybridSprinter08 lool i know! i would have ran over there then said "sorry bitch get another one".

  • Great course and it's FREE in the Military!

  • here (ny) its $275

  • In the State of Ohio it's $25

I would have gladly paid more.. really it should be mandatory for new riders. The cool thing in Ohio is when you finish and pass the MSF class you have your endorsement. Just take the waiver to the DMV and pay for a new dvrs licence.

  • its 20$ in IL but its booked for months :( i missed the deadline

  • is that John Mccain at 4:30??

  • You're right! He does sound like McCain! lol

  • I had to take this damn course for the military even tho i've rode bikes all my life and put 5k on my first "street" bike so it was kind of a joke to me.

but great for people that have never ridin

  • what?! - here in Canada a 2-3 day MSF course costs $775 + tax. $225 is practically free.... damn it!

  • $150 (21yrs or younger).....$250 for people older then 21....its a 3day course (1day in class) (2days on the range) its a very good course..i passed the class today...you dont have to take the riding dmv test if u pass this class..the teach all the basic stuff...well worth it

  • Cost me 225 for this course...ABSOLUTELY AWESOME...I was ready for my 03 R6 as my first bike right out of the course!

  • how old do you have to be and do you take your own bike?

  • 150 for one lesson or the whole course?

  • its for the whole course

    takes 3 days.

    covers riding and written test.

if you pass, they give u a certificate.

just take it to the dmv and they will mail

    you your m-class license.

  • how expensive?

  • 150 if youre 18-21

    225? i think over 21

  • is that 150 for the whole course? and how long is it?

  • Major props to MSF!! Everyone riding or thinking or riding should take the course! Lots of learning and fun!!

  • yeah just wish it wasnt so damn expensive!

  • What is the Age Requirments for this?

  • ahahahah john mccain at 4:30

  • im takin my course this wednesday. cant f'kin wait! im juiced

  • was that john mccain in the red? lol

  • Sure looks like him!

  • This course was so helpful.

  • Excellent class, even if you are "experienced".

  • I wanna do that. Looks pretty easy and fun.

  • I want to take this test but i dont speak english.. There a spanish test on MSF?

  • LOOK! It's John McClane I mean John McCain! LOL

  • I'm scheduled to take the class in about a month. I'm nervous.

  • Why!? it was fun when i took it, im going for the intermediate class next month..

  • Can you take this course with out getting your motorcycle permit first? Cuz I live in California. And it would be cool to take the course and pass so i can get my permit and license altogether. So can I?

  • im pretty sure you can take it without a motorcycle permit. but you need a driver's license (class C)

  • I got one question, if you can ride a bicycle very easily like take turns with no hands, one hand, both hands and lean in like crazy. If you are turning right, you stand up put your whole weight on the left and just hold the left side of the bike while the bike is leaned right. If you can do shit like this with a bicycle. Will you have good control of a motorbike? or not?

  • Wait, do you have to bring your own protective gear...jackets, gloves etc. Will they allow you to do it without that gear??

  • i jus finished this class. it was fuckin awsome!

  • What range test at the very end comprised of, and how do they score it/potentially council you out???

  • dont sweat it bro. they have u do practice runs until u basically master it. And everyone passes the test! the only way u wouldnt pass is if u drop the bike, which no one does.=)

  • ahh, ok. I have riden dirt bikes for 7 years, and never one of these cruiser bikes we are usin, so i was still a little nervous about blow'n all that money. Some yodel actually got counciled out today as well, so that was kinda discouraging

  • im a teen and i wish i could take an msf course.

but im mexican so im not a us citizen.

oh well....ill have to learn on my own.

  • wtf?

  • do they provide the bike?!

  • that and the helmet.

  • thanks

  • was that john McCain at 4:31???

  • charlie looks like a lil kid. lol

  • is this course required in order to get your license? just wondering b/c thinking about get a motorcycle

  • this coarse u should take... its fun and very informative...if u pass the coarse u don't have to take the riding test at the DMV only the 16 question test... Its so easy... Good luck

  • No this is not required, but t he regular standarized test is pretty hard and most people fail.. so if you pay for this "which by the way is very easy and almost everybody passes" you will be able to obtain your full license from the dmv.

  • It was really informative and well educating video for us basic riders!!! Thank You very Much!!!

  • I just finished the 3 day basic course and I got a huge boost of confidence in my riding ability thanks to the instructors and my self confidence . great course I highly recommended to anyone wanting to learn how to ride.

  • i just took this course this weekend. i learned a lot of stuff but ended up failing the test at the end so i got to come back and take it over. :(

i think the course should be a week long, not 2 days cause some people are slow learners (like me). and 4 out of 6 people in my class failed.

  • did you have to pay 250 dollars again for the whole course or just for the testing?

  • no, if i take the course again or the test then its free. and the cost was only $195

  • awsome, only 14 years old here, and im gona take this course here.

  • how come u failed... did u put your feet down or got to many points off???

  • got too many points off, i need to practice some more before i retest.

  • seems like a good course, and good bonding with other novice riders, looks worth the money u pay, rather pay a few bucks then crash lol =]

  • I went through the advanced course on base several months ago, just after getting my Triumph Rocket III. Good fun, good instructors.

But trying to maneuver that monster Triumph was at times... challenging! It was quite helpful in teaching me the turning limits and characteristics of my new scoot!

  • are you allowed to post this??? i mean are you in MSF???

  • great video for learning how to ride a motorcycle. its also clean for the kids.

  • great how to video. clean for the kids.

  • My teacher was horrible. Every second he would curse and like break things.

  • I just took a privately run Canadian equivalent to this... If you're thinking about buying a bike but have no experience, it's exactly the primer you need. After this you can pay attention to the road, not how your controls work, and you'll get some practice to develop smooth operation and good basic skills.

Also, it's pretty fun if you're completely new to it.

  • This is a GREAT course! I just took it last weekend. In the span of the 2 days on the bikes we rode about 40 miles and never left the parking lot. It really helps to build the proper habits and begin the muscle-memory. I highly recommend the class.

  • Anyone who wants to take this in the Central MA area should take it from the guys at smmotorcycleschool dot com :D

  • hey thanks for posting this Vid. It really portrays what exactly will go on throughout the course.

  • the only thing I cant do on the MSF course is the U-Turn

  • Fun or boring it's a must for new riders! I enjoyed the class when I took it.

  • This class is so fun.

  • No it's not. It was boring.

  • so for an experienced rider its a waste of time or is it still valuable?

  • The only reason it was boring to me is because I had some experience riding a motorcycle. They teach you simple things. The class is meant for people who have never ridden a motorcycle. The only that was cool, was the certificate you get so you don't have to take the DMV test for your M1.

  • oh i have been riding for years theres no need for me then. thanks!
