Every member of my family has been in the military as far back as I've been able to trace. You may be comfortable enjoying such a cheaply bought freedom, but somebody has to keep us that way. The war made America less safe. The CIA and military itself predicted that the Bush plan would likely lead to the problems it has, before the war started. The people who need to "WAKE UP" are the people who are lying to themselves that the war was a good idea, because they are unable to face having been tricked. it cant be easy to pour out her heart like this. she lost her son, and her way of preserving his memory is to warn other young americans and their families about joining up and giving in. she's not dishonoring, she is doing what she thinks he'd want her to do. i'm 16 and i know i dont want to fight in a war,and i'll be damned if i have to face pressures from recruitment officers.

I just wonder why she did not protest her son enlisting or reenlisting in the Army. There is not one soldier in IRaq who did not volunteer to serve his country. A soldier doesn't pick and choose his wars, he is sworn to uphold the constitution of the United States, and defend it against all enemies foreign and domestic.
