  • What's the computer called @ 0:39? With the tall monitor? I forgot.

  • @TheSpike3000 it looks as if it is a macintosh 2 with the macintosh portrait display

  • I started on Apple ][ Plus machines, about 1978 or something, they were already in schools before 1980 and most of you may recall Choplifter and Oregon Trail games, and in the Mac of the 80s, there was a little game called Zork? I recall the Utilma adventure series from Richard Garriott, and Broderbund Software, Sierra, etc....the list goes on, I'll highlight some soon

  • You could make a lot of money selling these. They're considered collectibles now!

  • @ankitpasi1 Value is really in the eye of the collector, basically, so it varies wildly

  • I see FS4 @1:05

    drools....

  • those werent around until after i got out of high school,,, we learned computers on Apple I and Apple II !

  • @Dreambro1 Few Apple Is made it to schools, I'd be surprised, they went right to the II series to make improvements and meet demands

  • the thing that sucks is about 12 years ago i remember seeing 2 different lisas in the local thrift store. didnt have money to get them as i was just a kid. one was a standard lisa, while the other one had a twiggy drive. both were 50 bucks.

  • Awesome collection dude! I want a vintage macintosh to go along with my Macbook Pro :) Apple FTW 

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! i STILL HAVE SOME OF THESE!!!!

  • pull them out and show them off

  • well when i moved out to college i only had room to take my powerbook. i had to leave my apple 2e at home and my mom took it to the recycling plant a couple days ago, so its gone. :( o btw its a Powerbook 3400.

  • how many did you have and ask your mom why she did that to your 2e

  • i only have 2 now and my mom said it was dusty, loud and old so she threw it out.

  • option-shift-k forever, ctrl-alt-delete never

  • @cheezeheads Ctrl Alt Del all the time, but it doesn't work from Blue Screen of Death!! hahaha

  • Yesh, i have a couple of these dinosaures.

  • what an awesome collection! 

  • fantastic collection. I'd like to go there.

  • Great show !

  • is that a museum?!?!?! I'd go if it was!

  • i got mah preforma 5400 today :D!!!!

  • dude,why do u hate windows,give me 1 reason,JUST 1!!!!!!!!!!

  • viruses, slower and the interface sucks

  • umm,interfaxce rox,vantiviruses are good,and its fast :p

    well,it has games

    Microsoft makes its own games

    mac doesnt

    and more defects

bu mac is for creating, not using

windows is for using, and rarely creating

  • on mac you can run windows games, using a program called darwine. you should try the macintosh. they have faster proccessors for the most part (macbook pro has a 2.93 Ghz core 2 duo with 6 mb of L2 cache, most pc based laptops have 2.0ghz cpu's with 1-3 mb of cache)

  • only if u dl teh program

and umm,why do people with diferent opinions hate each other?

i dont hate mac or Linux anymore

    guess its a inteligence thingy

btw,all Computers pwn in theyr way, only consoles suck

    they ar game stealerz :l

  • consoles are the best for games, ie GTA IV or Hawx

  • do u know why mac and linux require programs to play games?

it is because of teh consoles :p

they suck ass and its time to go in the street and shout it

  • people say game consoles play games better than computer but there wrong computers have alot more power and don't have as much heat problems and you don't have to mod them all the time to do stuff that computers do natively and you can get programs and computer controllers to play those games that consuls do and you get way better graphics and it doesn't glitch as much ether. sorry but i agree with Nodle66 computers beat game consuls into the dirt.

  • At least someone managed to see the truth.

  • yeah. civ 4 was BEAST on my comp, and i got Civ Rev and my console LAGGGGGGEEEEEEEDDDDD

  • this guy is rich.

  • Mac Sux sry to say Windows pwnz it :P

At least it pwnz Linux :D

  • windows just sucks horribly.

  • Hey go to "Vintige Apple Labtop Smash" and watch us smash the perfectly good working labtop shown at 0:42.

  • NIce dude! I'm impressed!

  • I want that Lincoln's hat-style display!

  • i got an old powerbook g3 running os 8.5

    32 mb ram

    233 mgz

    14.1 tft screen

    2gb hard drive

  • 0:32 I have that one and it still works!(only up to OS 8 at the moment)

  • woulda been cool if you did this (or re-did this) using the song "Technologic" by Draft Punk... that was used in the iPod commercials for a while. it'd fit really well. :)

  • Daft punk

  • The song is "Washingtons" by Sieg über die Sonne. Gotta love Shazam on the iphone!

  • i wish i had an older mac still so i could play my macmame games ... when someone is wanting a vintage computer for a tv show or movie, i guess they'll know where to ask for a loaner...

  • I love all things Apple!

  • even the puck mouse?

  • What about it's peripherals? I have a vid of the best one ever!

  • i want an old powerbook so badly!!!

  • Cool song! What is it?

  • Cool collection! You handled them very good; if else, they probably wouldn't have been working now... keep up the good (computer conserving) work! ;)

  • they are alive. you can't find pcs like this they all crashed

  • I still have an LC in my attic and my Power PC 7200 in a closet. My mom has my old Powerbook G3. I remember the days of playing Cosmic Osmo on the neighbor's little black and white powerbook thinking it was the best thing ever.

  • and, what song is in the video?

  • what's the thing with the tall monitor?

  • wish I had all of those, lol.

  • you should definately make these into a supercomputer. :)

  • What's the music?!

  • 01:00 Macintosh TV :DDDD

  • I Love Old Macs!! Rollershoer4life, taht was an old POwerbook like a 180, I had one at one time.

  • not a pb180. i recognize that powerbook from anywhere - the original PowerBook 100

  • Yeah, I have one. I use it in my little "printer room".

  • What notebook is that guy using at about 40 secs?

  • powerbook 100 series. probably 160 or 180 like jsmith said

  • that looks like the smallest though, probably a 100, i have a 180 and it seams much bigger.

  • wat a collection!

  • I used to have a Performa 430 with external CD-drive. Never had any problems with it what so ever. Computers were better in the old days.

  • Wow. You are truly amazing. Nice collection. Not even my father's collection can match your collection. He has an Apple ][ and Apple IIgs, however.

  • is tat ur house or a museum!!! btw... nice collection!!!

  • dunno, but i would live there lol

  • does he have any newerlike around the 1999 and 2000 era like an ibook or g3 powemac?

  • i saw an imac g3

  • coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • i have an original mac lc 580, powermac 5500 with tv tuner, MAC PLUS WITH ALL BOOKS AND DISKS AND GCC 20MB HDD and documentation (and the plus is still as white as when it came out of the box, nore does it have any burnin. i also have a mac se and a mac IIsi

  • It would of been unreal cool to see more of those powered up like the Apple 2 and the Mac Classic.

  • If you are selling one of those macs, let me know by leaving a comment on my page. AndrewPoulain2007

  • sweet a powerbook 520 im getting one.

  • GOOD! :p

  • i was looking around in a closet at my school and found an apple 2!!

  • did you take it?

  • i think on Jery Sinfelds show "sinfeld", he had macs on his desk in the corner. i think he had the first macintosh and that mac that you slide the laptop in it so use it as a desktop, and he had the 20'th anaversary one. i dont know exactly what its called, but it looked cool.

  • you mean the powerbook duo

  • my old school still had Macintosh performa 575 and when i was on a year of leaving they upgraded to iMac g4s

  • my school still has an apple IIe

  • realy OMG how well does it work

  • well it works. My teacher gave it to me and i cleaned it and got it nice and running. I have a lot of music games...like peter and the wolf and more which are not half bad.

  • cool how much ram did they have

  • I have a few macs that network is sooo nice and the early macs

  • Oops. The person who wrote about the All in one's and OS9. Sorry I accidentally deleted your post. I meant to hit reply and hit remove! D'oh.

  • That's okay. What I was saying was my school still uses at least 30-40 of those Power Mac G3 all-in-ones, as well as original iMacs and original iBooks. They all run Mac OS 9, which is pretty cool, it's almost like a blast from the past.

  • Mac TV, Network Server, great finds... but you're missing a 20th Anniversary Mac (TAM) :)

  • Yes. At the time I was using it for my home machine so I didn't include it in the show. I've got one though! Were that it were more upgradable... Its still running 8.6

  • @ProducerJ OMG!!!! I WANT A VIDEO NOW!!!!! :)

  • @ProducerJ This is old, but I figure, people never lose interest in the humble home computer history...and wars against Goliaths of the industry as well! I lost interest with the Mac since it shut down my favorite Apple ][. I actually was rather mad at the fact. The Apple II I felt better about because you could easily get inside it and add plenty of cards

  • ha ha, i used to play Seseme Street on mine.

  • Nice display. Stupid background music. Sounds like a gay bar. (yes, I've been in 'em but I'm not gay)

  • our school still uses those...

  • Yet another person with the elusive Network server.

Oh how I envy you :)

  • That is great. I remember having an Apple IIc at my house. I think my dad threw it away when we got a damn PC. I started using Macs again in 2004, now I have 4 including a PowerMac with Mac OS X Server.

  • Was there a macIIci in there? I also noticed a fighter-pilot game one of the screens, around 1:03 into this video. I think I have that same game on my IIci.

  • The IIci was a fine computer (one of the best apple ever made), I have one in storage and let me tell you I sure put allot of miles on it. It lasted my family from the early 90's up until the first g4 tower came out and that tower is now 6 years old and still up to date as my main computer (how's that for longevity). The only thing was this upgrade chip that basically made it a quadra and made it crash a whole bunch. Fond memories.

  • yeah, the IIci used to be my friend's work computer but soon became obsolete so he decided to hand it over to me and I used it for games. My only problem is it doesn't like pictures too well, or certain floppy disks. I tried putting a picture as a desktop background, and it slowed the computer down. It's a pain trying to transport Word documents from a new PC to the IIci.

  • look around 0:38 and it may be the one with the tall monitor

  • yeah, looks like it. I don't have the tall monitor tho.

  • the only Apple brand I have is quicktime software...lol

  • Yeah, this shows how greatly macs design has changed from then to now, to bad their os is still as buggy!

  • Even though it dates me, I sure remember these old babies. I always knew PC would win because they're cheaper. Not better; cheaper.

  • Nice trip down memory lane! I remember the first Powerbooks as being used by some professors of mine back in college. The trackball and color display were so cool.

  • Sure brings back memories.

    My first Apple IIGS.

My first Classic and Color Classic

Anyone remember the great first Apple Superbowl ad ?

    Great.

Too bad Apple was so greedy.

    Sure beat DOS .

    Still miles ahead of Windoze.

  • Thank you! This was very emotional... sigh.. (I am sort of an apple collector myself although my collection can't be compared to yours)

  • I remember we had the Apple II's at my elementary school. Number Munchers and the Oregan Trail were far by the best games i've ever played on a such an old computer.

  • Wow that is the coolest room ever, you even have some of the odd computers from the 90's and what would be even cooler is if you could work in the sound of a mac plus keyboard. How about that for nostalgia.

  • Way cool J, now you need my G3 server :)

  • Whoa, you ran some heavy nostalgia chords, there. Nicely spans the first Steve Jobs era, the interregnum, and the return of the King.

  • Nice collection and love how yout set them up, I wish I had the space to show what few apples I own.

  • I remember them thay were grate for there time I even had my first powerbook 170 i think it was and some that were showen in the film.

  • hate to admit it but id luv to have a collection like dat, ive had a few of them years ago but just sold them, wish i hadnt now :(

  • Amazing. I love the mouse display.

I also totally forgot about those old 'long' monitors; the LC ones. what are they called again?

    best,

    James

  • They were for the II series. 256 shades of grey only. Called the portrait monitor it lets you see a full page ("Oooooh!") of MS word text on the screen

  • WOW, A collection I wouldn't mind having

  • Thanks! If you have a few grand lying around, it could be YOUR collection ... ;)
