Not much you can do, any company uses these policies to get by with little regulation as possible. I can't remember the last customer support line I've called that didn't send me to a foreign country.. I think maybe only Newegg (which accepts Paypal :P) and I'm pretty sure anonymity can cover any possible are actual terrorist, unless he's dumb enough to name himself "AlQ!#@$ captain or something) We need to push laws to regulate them if they are to do business in U.S, boycotting will do nothing.
@darknessofkrish You are very right, sanctions and restrictions would prove far better because of the mindless zombie idiots that are all around us. I had more fun just poking fun at these asshats than anything because it is futile to go against the mighty giant but at least I can laugh about it.
Pretty straight forward, if Paypal has determined they nolonger wish to do business with you, it is pretty clear that they should without a doubt close the stupid account. Only reason to leave someones account open would be to continue doing business with the recipient. RIGHT OR WRONG?
Gawd! I have had a Pay Pal account for three years and have not had any problems.
One forgets that when buying online, one take a certain risk. Instead of blaming themselves for taking a chance, one likes to blame a third party like Pay Pal who just handles the purchase.
In an age that does not promote personal responsibilty (i'll say it again, RESPONSIBILITY) but promotes blaming and victomization (here! "Give me unreasonable attention. Waaa Waaa!").
Paypal is not a bank and Paypal does not have any US banking laws to follow.
This shows how stupid Americans are with their personal information.
In Europe the EU forced Paypal to follow EU banking laws, but while in the US Paypal is free to do as it pleases.
It is amazing how uneducated the American public has become and how stupid people are that allow Paypal to have access to personal information with no guidelines.
For those who are very fucking pissed off about ebay and paypal holding your funds until you ship your item to the buyer, here is a way to fix that problem. Log into your paypal account and issue a refund in the amount of 1 cent to the buyer. Your funds will be instantly available.
Same experience with everyone else! Check my video. They are EVIL! They should not be allowed to do business in America. I can't imagine what kind of fucked up person would work for this company.
Your stuff is good I like it as well, what scumbags run ebay and Paypal, they suck. ebay in the UK made it so that you have to now accept Paypal as a payment method. What even more bullshit. Boycott ebay and Paypal is right.
even microsoft outsources to india. and india does have an extradition treaty with the us. there have been just 11 cases reported in india and they were all caught and convicted. do u know the rate in the US? its 200 every year. Indians arent inferior. seriously why do whites have a superiority complex. which world you ppl living in.?
Ofcourse that is true. I happen to like Indians, I like Hindus and Sikhs both agree that all people are equal and don't have crazy ideas of killing people for thinking differently than other people. It is the Paki people who have this group of nuts and if they don't like to have this reputation then they themselves should root out this faction as a collective and condemn this notion but they have not and therefore outsources still supports terrorists there.
People will unite and speak the truth. The only reason people are allowed to sell Assisted Knives with Paypal is because I reported them to the FTC, the Better Business Bureau, and the California District Attorney's Office. I settled the case for everyone, but that still doesn't justify the behavior Paypal does. They are a horrible company, with terrible customer service.
They outsource to countries who harbor terrorists and allow muslim groups to raise money using Paypal to support organizations that want us dead. These are unacceptable terms. I urge everyone to not support companies who support terrorist groups. Our fellow countrymen who serve in our military deserve better.
They never changed their policy they simply thought all assisted knives where switchblades and refused to communicate to anyone selling them. They were rude just as they always are, so I reported the issue because they are not switchblades and forced them to adhere to California Penal Codes which they say they use in the policy. It took 1 in July of 2006 and was resolved by Aug 2006
RoadsideImports first had to file Cases against Paypal to make them compliant to the law. It began with filing a Better Business Bureau Case 253339. The refusal to allow such items being sold violated California State law. RoadsideImports filed a formal complaint to the FTC for unfair trade practices and then filed a formal case to the California District Attorneys Office. The United States District Attorney's office was also notified of this problem as well.
The fact that sales of items that were legal in all 50 states and not mentioned in their user policy forced Paypal to become compliant and allow the sales of Spring Assist Knives. RoadsideImports was told,"our decision will not be reversed" and "your account will not be reinstated under any circumstances" Wow big words from Paypal.
Then after the San Jose BBB stepped in with all the other case information, they changed and RoadsideImports was told, "A further review of your account and your auction listings shows that you are in compliance with our Acceptable Use Policy" and "A review of your account shows that your limitation appeal was granted due to a recent change in our Acceptable Use Policy"
Even after the case was final they still won't admit their error and lied because the policy never changed, they simply were forced to adhere to the California Penal Code Laws 653k and Bill SB 274, thanks to the help of the San Jose Better Business Bureau's Office.
Thank you for contacting PayPal, my name is Michelle and I am with PayPal's Executive Escalations. I sincerely apologize for the frustration this matter has caused. I have reviewed your account and would like to offer the following information in response to your inquiry.
As you are aware, you account was permanently closed on April 24, 2006, due to a violation of PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy. Specifically, PayPal noted that you were selling knives that we deemed in violation. According to your inquiry, you indicated that you had observed that others were selling these same knives. I understand that you disagree with out decision to close your account as you feel that a spring assisted knife is not a switch blade.
PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy specifically states that we consider spring assisted knives are considered to be switchblades. I empathize with the situation you find yourself in, however our decision will not be reversed.
In your inquiries, you have also provided us with a list of other individuals who are listing similar knives.
While we certainly understand your frustration regarding this matter, please rest assured and realize that the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy Department is a well trained and qualified group of individuals who approach their work with the utmost of concern, consideration, and discretion. I can certainly understand your concern with other websites or auctions that you may have come across that offer items that could potentially be in violation.
Should your attorney wish to conduct an independent search on websites regarding sales that potentially violate PayPal's AcceptableUse Policy, please forward this information to us at aup at paypal and we will investigate the matter and take appropriate action, if necessary.
I thank you for bringing violating auctions to our attention. We will review all the information surrounding the auctions and investigate the matter thoroughly.
Again Mr. B., I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this situation has caused. Please feel free to contact me directly at crme at paypal if you have any further questions or concerns.
Thank you for contacting PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy department.
While we always appreciate our customer's assistance in helping to identify AUP Violations, you have indicated that your repeated emails are an attempt to force us to reopen your account.
As stated clearly in previous emails, your account will not be reinstated under any circumstances.
Your case has been escalated to the top management
in the AUP Department. This decision is final. Since we have no further information to offer you, and conversely, you have no new information to
offer us (other than your demands to close other accounts or re-open yours), this will be the last communication you will receive from this department.
Now observe the change that occurs because of the cases filed.
Tue, 01 Aug 2006
Dear J. B.,
A further review of your account and your auction listings shows that you are in compliance with our Acceptable Use Policy. The knives you are currently selling all have the thumb hole or thumb screw clearly visible on the blade itself. These knives are no longer considered a violation of our Acceptable Use Policy. I have lifted the limitation on your PayPal account.
Now observe the change that occurs because of the cases filed.

Dear J. B.,
Thank you for contacting PayPal, my name is Jennifer and I am with PayPal's Executive Escalations. I sincerely apologize for the frustration this matter has caused. I have reviewed your account and would like to offer the following information in response to your inquiry.
I sincerely apologize for any frustration this matter has caused. A review of your account shows that your limitation appeal was granted due to a recent change in our Acceptable Use Policy. However, your account was originally limited in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy and thus PayPal will not be able to reimburse your for any loss of sales or time due to actions taken by PayPal in accordance with our User Agreement.
But I still hate their company and do not do business with them at all because, I hate their arrogant behavior, their continued rude behavior and awful customer service. I don't like that they outsource to foreign countries with people's banking financial data or personal data. I don't like that they have no banking charter and don't have to follow any banking laws because of this. Use the RevolutionMoneyExchange
That is all true, those are live recorded conversations with Paypal employees talking to their customers. Great company huh? This is a company that you'd want with your financial data, then they outsource to Pakistan and India who have no extradition treaties with the US so if your financial data is stolen, there are no ramifications to them. Stay away from Paypal, avoid it like the plague.

Nationality is not the issue here.Paypal policy is the issue.
These idiots are not even FDIC regulated.
You should see their new policy for sellers on Ebay!
Sellers are no longer allowed to accept any other payment except Paypal! A seller may only accept an EBAY approved merchant account.
Ebay and Pay pal are going to burn and I will be standing by with the marshmellows and hotdogs anyone gwant to bring the buns and coat hangers?
