  • the boy in the ad is me

  • btw that's australian rules football they're playing. NOT rugby

  • What would've been creepy is if the Man that ran the boy over died, and the little boy was standing over his grave. Gah D:

  • yes we have won like this in england with a little ginger boy

  • The end of the video is so depressing.

  • Emotional is right. I cried the first time I saw this. I thought I was seeing my nephew Noah, or one of my great nephews Cody or trevor in the video.

  • clever how they film him as an oldish balding guy but when he remembers back to the accident he looks young indicating how many years have passed since the death.

  • It's like you have been an army trooper after the war. He remembers all enemy trooper's how was killed by him and he's best friend's death on battlefield's. Also he's squad's teammate funeral's.

He get's a psychical injury for he's life.

  • @SuperRubenis i think you mean mental not physical

  • That guy suffer the tragic moment in he's life, it will live in he's memories

  • If you kill someone while driving when you're speeding or drunk, it's not an accident. It's a murder. With you being guilty with a knife.

  • this is jsut like that new kill your speed or live with it, except that boy is dead

  • :( Sad video. But I dont understand what the heck this video is supposed to be advertising.

  • Neverminf I know now. :/

  • This video is truly horrifying. A parents worsted nightmare. I have been there they are here one minute and gone the next. You would do anything to turn back time but you cant. This is the ultimate agony. Annie

  • Wow, I have nightmares where the same person shows up where ever I am, but I have never killed anyone accidentally or intentionally. I don't know the person who keeps showing up in my nightmare.

However, if some ass-hat killed my child, no matter the circumstance, I would do my best to find them and kill them myself.

I'm sorry, I know the pain of a losing a child and the person who did it walking away without a care in the world. I won't let it happen again.

  • to slow people down there has to be alot more police patrols on the road....instead of just sitting in a car with a radar gun....more police on the road the more people there are to hit the break pedal if there speeding...

  • i believe these ads were alot better then the current ones of trying to avoid RBA's and getting caught it shows the true aftermath effect that most people dont think about

  • i think this is their best ad ever, really sticks with you.

  • if i am in an accident i would rather by a victime, than the one who caused the crash.

  • either way your life's fucked

  • I actually feel bad for the guy - I know he can't undo what happened but you can tell he's suffering from his actions and regretting for the rest of his life.

  • I do not. The only consolation in a situation like this is that the person has to live with it for the rest of their lives.

  • @1RadicalOne heartless

  • Not really. Guilt is good; it is what keeps you from doing it again when the law cannot - as it did not the first time.

  • what does tac stands for?

  • Transport Accident Commission.

  • The concept of this advert bears a striking resemblence to THINK's recent speeding advert "Live with It". I think this one is about drink driving because the phrase "a little bit over" makes me think of alcohol.

  • powerful ad

  • In the UK advert the boy is in the postition of after he got hit so hes like on the floor dead all bloodied up, really creepy.

  • And in this advert, the roadkill victim is standing up, following his killer everywhere he goes and stares at him. Like the little boy in The Grudge.

  • we have an advert like this in England

  • Yes, we do. And it's pretty decent, actually.

  • @wuzzlevideos The one where he's under the desk right ? that makes me paranoid, i always look under my desk after that :L(i've never hit a child btw ):L

  • @wuzzlevideos Too bad the boy in the UK version is a redhead... Some troll made a redhead parody of the PIF and sent it up to YouTube.

  • our one i abit more creepy (but very hard hitting) though, i think coz of the fact that then boy in the uk advert is in the position he was when he died and he has his eyes open. i do think i gets the point across brilliantly though.

    x

  • @squigglepiggles is it the advert with the ronald mcdonald looking guy following a man where ever he goes?

  • I know i shouldn't laugh, but that ending quote made me lol.

    Only a little bit over?

    You bloody idiot.

  • A drink driver?

  • Interchangeable depending on country as to which word is used.

  • hayy now♥

  • Are you deliberatly missing the point or just a pompous bellend?

  • I quite like you. You're funny.

  • I used this ad in a DUI presentation for school. Bloody fantastic ad, my class was shocked.

    Cheers for posting it mate.

  • that was heart wrenching.

i was wondering if you could help me,

im looking for a video that i saw at an alive@25 class.

it was about drunk driving and they said it was made in austrailia. there was a guy and a girl like sitting on a bridge, and the guy gets hit by a drunk driver, and they girl just scream.

    help anyone?

  • It's actually made in Ireland, and you can see it by searching for "Irish Road Safety"

  • thats a WHOLEEEEEEEEEEEEEE bunch.

    (:

  • If you're referring to the one I think you are, try searching for "the faster the speed, the bigger the mess".

  • Yeah, that's the one he means. It's the top result for what I suggested!

  • Hi, The ad you are looking for is one by the Road Safety Authority of Ireland. It regularly airs on Irish television. It's tag line is the faster the speed the bigger the mess. However by my recollection there are a few ads in the series with this line.

  • Yep. Also worth noting that they'd "borrowed" that line from the TAC and LTSA.

  • I don't think anyone minds 'borrowing' lines in these ads if it even convinces one person and saves even one life. You might be interested to know that for most of the ads in the Road Safety Authority series there is one for Republic of Ireland and one for Northern Ireland the accents are local also and for example in the ad 'Decisions' the one in the Republic has the police in Garda uniform and the NI one has PSNI uniform. Subtle difference but the content of voice over is the same.

  • Yeah, I already knew. I've been in contact with both services to check about the distribution of the ads. I guess they came to some arrangement :)

  • The ads are sponsored by Hibernian Insurance in the Republic and Norwich Union in NI these are the same company under different trading names also under the Good Friday Agreement one of the areas of cooperation between the two governments is road safety. Thence the cooperation. Also with a population of only 5million people on the island as a whole it makes sense to share production costs given the size of the potential audience and the fact that TV stations are picked up both sides of border.

  • That comes under the Good Friday Agreement? That, I did not know. That's rather cool.

  • yeah, i found it.

    thanks.

  • SERIOUSLY da end part wer it say, ur a bloody idiot RUINS da mode.

  • What the fuck? Ruins the mode? If you could try talking English, that'd be great. Thanks.

  • i mean mood

  • It can be meant literally as well...

  • i'm doing research on these ads and i'd like to know what year this ad was made, can anyone help?

  • 2005, says the TAC website.

  • I never tire of watching this one. Maybe I need a hobby ;)

  • i kno wat u mean, i cud spend hours just watchin da TAC shows, der like mini dramas!

  • I don't get it at all. You don't have to be drunk to be a drink (drunk) driver??? If you aren't drunk what's the fucking problem.

  • It means you don't have to be falling about slurring your words. The driver in the advert had had a few drinks (we assume) and was just over the limit. His skills were impaired a small amount, and it contributed to the death of the child.

  • Which, he had to live with the rest of his life...

As what was seen the the ad..

    Getting older....still seeing the child...

  • symbolism aside, awesome job of aging this guy.

  • I would have called the ghostbusters on his undead ass

  • No you would call Bruce Willis and get that kids arse back inside the Sixth Sense DVD

  • Credit where it's due, that made me laugh :-)

  • haha and I didn't even choose to dispute this ad mostly because at this hour (midnight) I really can not be bothered analysing the meaning of it lol.

Joking I do agree with this message because if you recklessly kill a child of course you will never forget or forgive yourelf

There is no use of the bullshit speed kills message here so I'm happy with this ad lol

  • I believe this is exactly what it would be like if you were responsible for the death of a child. It would have to be, how could you just go on and forget, right? Very well done. Thanks for posting.

  • LOL@ idiots who don't understand symbolism

  • So we should let them get on with it and not bother stopping them? That line of logic is so flawed I don't know where to start.

  • wow

  • chupaxf

If you drink and drive your a bloody idiot. If you make it home your a fu&kin legend.

This is how alot of people took that line on the ad.

  • djksdj. I cannot stand that "Bloody idiot" tagline. They take a poinigant and creepy ad like that, then deface it with a half-comical yobbo sentiment. RAGE.

  • There's nothing 'comical' about calling someone a BLOODY idiot. It all depends on the tone used when you say it.

  • Wow the Aussies know how to make 'em

  • creepy how the kid follows the guy everywhere. i'd be scared to death if that happened to me

  • Well, it's not like the kid's really following him around. The man's imagining it in his head. He feels so guilty and so remorseful that he feels that the boy is haunting him, reminding him of what he did.

  • Again: the TAC know how to hit home.

  • it was a punch in the face when the police officer said 'are you aware that the young fella has infact died?" my face was is shock hearing it... even though it was obvious

  • This reminds me of the "Regret: The Anti-Drug" PSAs in the States.

  • yeah, but this is ten times better.

  • That was very powerful. I've been looking at most of the ones on your list, and they are all very informative.

    Thanks for sharing.
