And 2 get 2 the point yes she died in another time that most likely dont happens cus Sheperd returned and i have seen trough the end of atlantis and sg1.
Sheppard went through the gate dailed to Atlantis during a solar flare, only insted of traveling him back, it sent him foward 3000 years. Michael the Wraith hybrid got Teyla's child and did experiments on him. Carter became CO of a new ship called the Phoenix, and Woolzey became CO of the Atlantis expedition. Michael became so strong that Carter had to ram into his ship cause both of them to die.
This is found out though to be events of an Alterate timeline, as Sheppard now returns to the time he's suppose to be in, and his return changes things.

carter rammed the ship because the Phoenix's hyper drive was overloading and it was either take the hives out with her or blow up inbetween them and do no damage
Here you Samantha Carter is the best character in Stargate SG-1 there are more Samantha Carter fans out there then any other's for the rest of the characters
Although it now seems it won't be called the Phoenix anymore. If they stick to it, they're renaming it to honor the memory of General Hammond (Don S. Davis). Carter's still set to captain though.
season 5 is the final but the movie has got to be reli good especially with all the material they have available - something tells me we will soon see ALL of the earth ships involved oddessey daedalus apollo and the phonix that would be cool!
I think that with Sheppard back the Phoeinx will be in a taskforce with the Apollo and Daedalus going after michales hives by the end of the season, if not in earily season 6 if Michael is still a threat. After all, isen't being on the offensive the best defense?
Fair comment. I doubt they would give Carter command of it though - it's like the ZPM's. They will never have the liberty, it removes too many possible scenarios for them to write about, I mean nearly every other episode is about them pending imminent attack and not having a ZPM to power the shield/cloak.
But - would be pretty cool if Atlantis did have its own ship, could just sit it on the East peer until they feel like going for a cruise :D
the end is very sad

the offensive is the best defense,
but offense is more expensive than just sitting around and trusting your defensive material,
so i think they will just defend:)
