I first listened to this with a friend in the car when we were rolling balls and we almost hit a tree thank god our friend in the backseat yelled. I was close to death or serious injury cause it was on the passenger side and we were going like 50 miles an hour. I was blown away from this song that I almost cried but I was on drugs but it's still a wonderful song and my favorite. Never knew it though
@sk8rt33 he said during the set last night that they are not selling out. and that for THIS tour they playing obscure stuff. i dont think he would completely abandon the growls. according to some other fans they did the same thing when Damnation came out. i personally don't care too much what they play live(a few song i would have loved to hear, but cant have everything.. i also think a lot of death metal kids need to grow up too. BTW AMAZING PERFORMANCE.
I've seen Opeth about five or six times. This recent Heritage Tour is one of the absolute STRONGEST performances from them EVER, including anything they accomplished on either of their live albums. AND to think I went into this cynically and with doubts due to how disappointed I was with the Heritage album. The songs they played from it sounded SUPERB live!!! Best band EVER...

i have a very mixing feeling about opeth...i bought their last album wich is total masterpiece, without any wrong turn...i realy like their compositional skils and guitar work is also amazing. the only thing i cant stand is the fanatic pig vocals...but i must admit great prog band anyway

@bajko1000 oh man, well since Ghost Reveries (2005), Watershed (2008) and now Heritage (this year) they've had a lot of new fans who aren't used to their death metal stuff. The funny thing is I thought exactly what you thought when I first heard them. It took me years to finally get into their music: I said this is so amazing that I'm not going to let the death metal growls ruin it for me. But now that they've given that up, I really miss it.
what really bugs me is how christians seem to have this need to flaunt their beliefs, i dont go around all day saying how much i dont believ in god, so it doesn't matter what YOUR beliefs are, just that they only matter to YOU, and thats where they should be kept, not forced on other people.
@joe15rock the only problem with this is that there are two sides to the coin, i know alot of christians that wont push there beleives on someone who is not a thiest, but there are the select few that dont like the fact that i dont have faith. But there are also Athiests who will bash a christians beliefs just because they dont like it. There is always going to be one ass who cant handle someone elses perspective, my advice is to just not take part in the clusterfuck that is a religous argument.

Almighty God has revealed Himself to man by appearing on Earth as Our Lord Jesus Christ. If someone would like to know for sure what God is about then look at Jesus Christ. Romans 1v19 onwards tells us that it is obvious that God exists from all creation and that men are without excuse. Someone might choose not to believe but He surely exists.

Easily my least favourite song on this album (well a tie between this and Porcelain heart). It's still great though. I think Hessian Peel would've been a MUCH better album closer than this.
Consider this: i think this song was inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey. i just finished watching it, and i noticed the similar organ endings to both the movie and the song. the lyrics sort of match too.
it's perfect... the whole album is just perfect.. and this is the most epic epilogue i've ever heard... it's harmonic, it's misterious, it's beautiful, it's dead, and it's pure live though.. it'S everything.. and nothing.. it's perfect... everytime i listen to watershed i wonder how a man can write such thing.... every note, every harmony everything is just perfect!!!.... i really don't know how te express... it's... IT IS
