It's funny because they must have recorded him talking all in one take because when he plays the licks, the guitar changes to like a tele or something.
once you`ve learned it you cant get it away! it`s so fucking boring !! all the famous guitarplayers as angus young and other blues / rock guitarist cant play anything else than pentatonic!!
@bobbyip even though technical proficiency is key to knowing how to improvise, you don't have to play fast to be good, I would rather hear one right note than 100 terrible notes.... i enjoy many genres of music
For the record this lesson was recorded a decade or so ago. the mullit was a guitar playing requisite........The fact that it's on youtube now slays me. Anyone concerned should know I no longer sport a mullit and regularly see a therapist about my past. Now try paying more attention to the guitar lesson.....
blues ain't for "begginers" as you say, you must have played guitar all over 3 or 4 years at least to know the basics he's using, if he had to teach you from the very very begining of the scales and licks stuff...he'd need over 5.678.987 vids to do that
yeah you're right! it is impossible that he has 1st recorded the talking vids, and then the music ones on different days! THAT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO DO!
you obviously dont know what irony means so ill save you the definition and give you a hint instead, dont use it in this situation. i think the word you were looking for was sarcasm.
go get a good dictonary,u saved yourself the definition, cause you obviously don't know what this word means, take a look at the word irony, it is a synonym for the word sarcasm wich both have the definition
"witty language used to convey insults or scorn"
both can be used on the same context and situations
with more synonims as: satire, caustic remark...
btw, copying what I said was pathetic dude
be more original.
be sure to know what your talking about before you post.
Sarcasm is "verbal irony". Usually you can use "irony" when you could also use sarcasm, but it doesn't work the other way, and using the word sarcasm would at least have been more appropriate.
Satire is a completely different (but related) concept.
In any case it is a pretty pointless thing to argue about, but I thought I'd reply, since both of you repeatedly seem to get it wrong.
Because it's about the scale, and how it sounds over the back-up music, PV doesn't always focus on the timing as much as you might like. Guess it's up to us to choose the timing.
@ ramidak0s: I mean in the end it all comes from the same roots, Indeed it's not true rock came before funk, it's all blues that developped in a different way.

??? Blues before Jazz ? are you crazy ?
in 1933 Les Paul already played JAZZ and had the first electric guitar in 1940. A Jazz guitarrist. Blues came after it, 40's. Rock came in early's 50's, remember Elvis and Chuck berry in 53... and so does Funk.
so, wrong. it's all JAZZ not blues. Blues is a "heavy metal" jazz, faster and more complete then the single jazz.
Early's 60's was the psycodelhic blues(in 65 with Hendrix) or hard rock(in 64 with The Who)
It's a fact that blues was before jazz. Jazz came from blues, later a bit combined with latin influeces and stuff. I also thought for years that it was the other way around but it's not.
And yes you have a nice knowledge of years and names but about this history please do some more research.
@DarkDutchman Actually, Blues and Jazz more or less evolved simultaneously (Especially if you consider Ragtime to be the earliest incarnation of jazz, which many music historians do.)
The REAL fact is that there is no one true defining moment for either genre, like all music... They evolved over time, and overlap considerably. Jazz borrows a LOT from blues though, so its easy to say that one came before the other. But, consider jazz fusion; Does that make rock a forerunner to all of jazz?
MY GOD! blues came way before jazz!! it was brought in and fused with music from african slaves in the deep south during the slave trade period as early as the turn of the centuary(1900)!!! from blues you get rock etc Jazz was a mix of blues and latin influences and also the cuban style 'son' music and the clave rhythm. From that we get funk, salsa and reggae, all with syncopated rhythm...learn your music history!
jazz came around from when the slaves came away from their hme country the women wore jasmiine and hey remember home from jasmine and now shortened to jazz. blues is from releasing the stress from everyday life
honestly, you only need to know one thing when considering music history after the classical era... colored people started it... blues, jazz, funk, reggae, and even rock... every mainstream genre was pioneered by either africans or african americans... and why? because they got soul. the very heart and root of all music. this is not a race issue, its just cold hard fact. for every white player you can name in any genre, i can name 3 BETTER players. I wish i had soul =/
And black regions, particularly the whole continent of Afrixa, has had much more problems than the rest of the world... I see a pattern between struggles and depth in music.
