  • PURE EPICNESS

  • oh wow

  • That What Would Jason Do? shirt comes from fright rags! Awesome!

  • you know why she said they were happy because more than 15 people showed up is because no one else gives a damn what they think.

  • It's take alot to exorcise the demon called Warner Brothers, all of the suits who work there should be summarily executed for cinematic sacriledge. This is the same crew of jagoffs who "emasculated" the last film of Stanley Kubrick, EYES WIDE SHUT, using cheesy digital inserts to lamely bring it into "R" territory for the MPAA (something Kubrick never would have approved of if he had lived a little longer) and for about a decade they made this the only version American audiences could see.

  • They also have one of the worst track records for being too CHEAP to re-purchase music and other rights for older films so that they can have a proper DVD release, and as a consequence, a ton of classic films that should be seen by the public never will be. Fuck you, Warner Brothers.

  • which one is david hayter? which time should i pause at to see him?

  • The strike would bug me if current horror writers didn't completely suck at their jobs these days.

  • The last time these writers went on strike was back in the 80's I support these writers ^^ good luck you guys keep on truckin !!!

  • XCOOL

  • Where's David Hayter? Why would he be here? He doesn't write horror.

  • Knowing David, he probably just wanted to support the cause as much as possible.

  • Sorry guys, but the only writers who deserve better pay are the ones whose films end up at film fests: Cannes, Sundance, Telluride, Berlin, etc. Horror films are "entertainment products" and belong at those goofy Comic Con geek fests.

  • Hunter-

Your elitist comment reveals a total ignorance of the supposed reasons behind the strike: it is not only for the top-line talent but for the writers working on every type of picture, tv show, etc., (especially those dubbed "entertainment products") who are trying to make ends meet. Meanwhile their product, no matter the artistic merit you ascribe to it, is being sold without any benefit to them whatsoever. Take your inflammatory trolling somewhere else.

  • Listen: I worked on over 300 national TV commercials. On at least 50 of them I gave ideas & better dialog to the ad agency "creative" writers which were used in-full for the final aired TV spots. I got no credit, no residuals and those "writers" went on to win Clio awards and many perks... for MY ideas. Why don't you guys just raise your rates and make everything a buy-out? I get a flat day rate, why can't you guys settle for a one-time pay like always?

  • What their fighting for is Writer Welfare. Look at the list of writers that showed up, their hacks that can't write for shit. If they were good writers they could make a very comfortable living and if they were smart they would put their money away. But these people write SHIT and they know that they can sucker people into buying their crap for only soo long, and then what? Get a real job? HA

  • I've been freelance in the film industry for 26 years. I'm not whining about benefits or residuals because the studios payed me for my work the day I was on-location, period. I didn't have to shoulder the high production costs, why should I get a piece of the action? During shooting for Nor. Exposure costs were $800K episode. I got my pay, great meals & lodging, no complaints.

  • Hmm, how is it that over-paid writers at top ad agencies are given 3-6 months to come up with one 30-second TV spot, then a crew member like me comes up with better writing in about 10 minutes? Be thankful for the fat pay days you had and move on. There are some great barista jobs open right now...

  • Hmmm, the talk shows that came back without writers seem to be doing just fine without them! True on-camera talent can improvise and are great writers on their own. If you guys get your demands, you'll be back next year with more demands. You are the enemy too.

  • I love this guild, and I love it a little bit more with every self-produced video I see. Smart! Funny! Scary!

  • So fantastic...makes me love my chosen genre even more...

  • You did a great job on this, I'm impressed! My attempt at memorializing the event is posted as a video response above, but it doesn't even come close to yours.

  • ".............." ya heard?

  • good idea... very creative... you should be writers. Kidding! I kid. I kid.

  • I love the sound desing/score! Great idea. I love the fact even striking writes can't help to not be creative. Man I feel guilty loving all this pro bono youtube entertainment by striking writers. Oh and F carson Daily, hes a hack, of course he would be the first, hes a corprate blow hard, anyone who could host TRL should not be trusted to have a soul or dignity which he has proved by being a scab!

  • Support this strike -- no matter how kooky it may seem...

    Brett

  • Keep up the good works.

  • Excellent! You really captured the energy of the event!

  • funny! check out cntalkshow's writers strike vid from new york! youtube/cntalkshow
