The radius of a neck is measured as if you were to draw a circle with a radius of a given length, for instance 10 inches. Then if you took a piece of the edge of that circle the width of your neck, it would be flatter or more rounded depending on the size of the circle. Flatter radii leave more room for bending strings without "fretting out" higher on the neck. But smaller radii are often preferred for chording. You play really clean - I am a beginner/intermediate do you have any tipps how to practise in order to devekop that (I noticed you don't use your pinky very often playing these scale runs)? Are there specific routines that helped you with this?
I have a question about the neck radius. I know it's 10 will this allow a player with small hand to get his thumb over the top to play bass notes, it looks like you are doing it quite easily................Thanks.........................Oh, great playin man just droolin over the quitar............great choice.
Thanks... About the radius, the difference with the standard 9,5" is not significant. If you use to play with 7,25" like on a RI 62, of course, it's different. However, it's not a problem to put the thumb over the top. I can do that and my hands are not so big!
I just purchased a Dealer Select Wildwood "10" '59 Strat Heavy Relic 3TSB.
It will be here tomorrow. I also picked up one of the '57 Champ re-issues (hand wired). I owned a 1960 Champ and still kick myself to this day for selling it. It's in a studio and everyone wants to play through it.
I'm looking forward to hearing the '59 through the '57 Champ.... :)
very nice... i've drooling over the Wildwood 10's myself for a while now. can you tell me what amp and pedal (if any) you were using? you had just the right amount of drive... sounded great!
Thank you. It's a Fender Super Champ XD (I don't remember the amp preset). No pedal, amp line out direct in the soundcard. This amp is very good for crunch sounds.
Ok, it's a very expensive instrument. But I was looking for "my" strat for 20 years without success, even if I have tried 2 vintage "serie L" which was not so good. For me, this model is perfect. Every days it's a huge pleasure to use it and for me, it worth the price.
Amazing! Sounds so good! I also have a Wildwood 10 (mine is the slightly older "60s" version, no particular year) and a Super Champ XD -- what settings are you using on the amp? You are getting a great "edge of breakup" sound, is it one of the Blackface voices? Great playing too, cheers!

The 10" radius refers to the fretboard, not the back of the neck. The 10" radius makes bends less likely to "fret out".

John Cruz special design. It's a bit overwound and it doesn't sounds like '60 pickups.
