The Byrds-La's-Oasis, The Byrds-Smiths-Too many to mention! McQuinn will admit his debt to The Beatles (intro-Daytripper) but The Byrds are at the fountainhead of all that's cool. Always believed a great band should look the part too. They looked the biz! Again, indebted to the scouse gods!
This is a phenomenal cover. I always like Dylan's versions of his own work better - his voice has the soul of the music - but this is still a great rendition. I am glad to have discovered this.
The Byrds are the only band that can cover Dylan as far as I'm concerned- Mr. Tambourine man being the definitive example and the best Dylan cover ever.
However, I prefer Dylan's own version of this, which I can't find on the internet.
This was suppose to be the follow up single to Mr. Tambourine Man but the exec at BCS wanted Turn Turn Turn. Released in stereo within the last 5 years
watch?v=g7S9qhp0OFk This is cover from Slovak 60´s band The Matadors.
Today I first time hear Byrds version so I just compare. .:) But Ilove them all!

On second thoughts, this doesn't sound much like the Van Morrison version at all.

This one is OK, but I prefer their gloomy 1969 version. This one is more like Van Morrison's version.
