  • GOOD SOUND--good picking

  • @brennwatte was für einen klangaspekt gibt die fichte ?

  • things that are awesome in this vid

    -you

    -that macaferri

    -the indication to Django Reinhardt

    -and everything else

  • very nice! I like the sound and you're playing . how did you record it? is it just a digi-cam or what? thanx for an answer! OLI

  • Hey Oli,

thank you! It´s only the mic of the Digi-cam.

  • Fantastic!

  • Like that)

  • I always wondered what bluegrass would sound like on a maccaferri. Thanks for showing me!

  • do you think I can use manouche strings on a normal acoustic guitar?

  • Yes I think so.

  • @brennwatte The acoustic guitar would loose his sound or not? I mean the strings are very light and the maccaferri is designed for that..but the acoustic guitar hasn't got a body that amplifies the sound as such...

  • Yes, but think that a little bit of that typical sound you can also hear on a normal acoustic guitar. Try it.

  • @brennwatte I changed the strings...well they shifted a little bit(just a little bit...) the sound (more bass Hz) but it is quite the same..I'm still very far from a Maccaferri sound. The good thing is they didn't remove the original sound and the guitar sounds very well!

I think the Maccaferri's cedar top and the very good bridge with tailpiece changes the sound very much. So the guitar is more like a classic guitar than an acoustic one.

Anyway thank you! Very good playability and full sound!

  • @san5a89

It's not good for the guitar. I don't the words in english, but the tension of those strings are too high to use on a nylon made guitar.

  • @dimistepa I say acoustic for meaning a steel string guitar(and not a classical guitar), but not a manouche one...a normal acoustic guitar

  • @san5a89 They would sound like stir-fried shit. Flat tops and SelMacs are braced differently. Phosphor bronze strings don't sound good on SelMacs, and Gypsy Jazz strings would barely move the sound board of a flat top acoustic guitar. You can, however, use thing gauge electric strings on a SelMac. I use pure nickel strings on mine all the time. They sound at least as good as D'Addario Gypsy Jazz ball-end strings.

  • Young man, that was a very rude response to a fair and valid comment;

You have upset me while I was listening to Jim Hall. Anyway, I'm off to sniff some glue and bond with my buddies.

  • Dude!!! Nice job of showing the versatility of the Maccaferri-type guitar. No one every does that.

  • YEAH! Long live Maccaferri tone to be MY ALL-TIME favorite acoustic lead tone!

  • Great playing, but surely you cannot be impressed with that thin rattled tone.

  • @kimersitch you can if the guitar is made out of plastic and quite old.

  • @kimersitch You don't know what you're listening too, idiot. Go sniff some glue and listen to your metal noise.

  • @Hoopermazing Hey Man that was a bit uncool you know, I was digging Jim Hall when I got the comment, it bummed me out brother. Don't you think It's a thin tone? C'mon man you've got ears surely... Anyways I gotta go and sniff some glue and bond with my buddies. Peace,

  • Having fun are we?

  • Great playing!

  • unbelieveable playing dude!!

  • This is great. Was wondering what song you played at the very beginning? The artist as well.

  • Wo wohnst Du? Kann ich bei Dir Unterricht nehmen? Grüße, Tobi

  • Gudes Ding!

Würd aber auch gern wissen, was der erste Teil für ein bit ist?!

Gibts dafür ein Tab oder muss ich versuchen alles von deinen Fingern abzuschaun? :)

  • beginning was badass

  • @Komprimus: but price is not so beatiful ;)

  • Nice job - what's the first song you're playing?

  • Thank you. The first song? Nothing special.

  • Thank you. It´s a song of me.

  • Very good, but a very trebley recording

  • i appreciate so much gipsy jazz and django !!nice

  • Oh then look up Joscho stephan .

  • wow, so gut, und dass ein deutscher gitarrist ;), respekt...

  • sounds like a western guitar

  • Very nice playing man ! But really, this guitar- although it sounds nice- does not have the Selmer/ Maccaferri sound at all. Listen to a good Selmer copy like Favino or Di Mauro or even one of the newer Gitanes and you will hear the difference...

    Rgds, Harry

  • did i hear a little bit of Hog bitch stomp in there??

  • Nah, Hog Bitch stomp is just a lot of standard country licks, and is also based on another famous country song which kinda sounds like it (kinda forgot the name tho)

  • Nice playing, but this guitar needs something else.

  • django could play this (you have 4 fingers, he has 2 and a half)
