oh, sweetie, i don't know what to say, i lost my firstborn grandson, who was my boy at the age of 17, and here's what i think, they fly home before they have to suffer the pain, and i think we love them so, we let them do so and no greater love is borne than that.
@oysterjoe It's sad you can't even enjoy a beautiful song like this one by Donovan. You're obviously such an angry person you not only hate God, you hate yourself as well. I feel sorry for you..

@adelma9 Look, I love this song, too. But it's a bit ridiculous to insult Dylan in your comment, even as a joke. There would be no Donovan as we know him without Dylan, and this song is the best example. It's a great song, but it's certainly a Dylan-inspired one. And Dylan most definitely could sing...he had and has one of the most expressive voices ever. It may not be classically pretty, but so what?
yes lovely song to website username we loved them when they were here but we cant get that back now they were no disrespect for anybody we loved them it brings back memories of them.
From close to the end of the Second World War to a few years back, was the greated music the human race ever saw. But that genius is gone now. Fond memories though.
@Hamlet0627 either way, that wasnt the point, wasnt talking to dying people posting how they love it, was posting about people posting RIP JOHN SMITH YOULL NEVER BE FORGOTENN D':> like chill, no one cares, and no ones going to reach out to you in a comment board, and offensive? nah lol :]
I heard this song for the first time maybe a year ago on a commerical. Little boy was running with a glass jar. I don't even remember what the product they were selling was, but found the song so moving
This was played at my beloved dads funeral on 22/07/10 5 months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was 62. R.I.P Ray Locke. I miss you. xxxxxx
not even out of disrespect, but why do people start praising there loved ones who have died? on comments and what not, like what are they trying to display
@merdapuzzolentissima I'm trying to display the question to people who praise their dead relatives on comments. It's retarded, there's no point to it. No ones going to reach out to them and show concern, no ones going to care. Sucks, but it's true. Wait, sorry, truth isn't respected on comment boards. Next up, "FLAME TROLL FLAMEE GRAHHH" amirite?
I so love this song...it came out when I was 16...way back when. Now when I listen to it I think of my beautiful grandson who died at 16 last May after a two year battle with cancer....miss you and love you so..it should be me who died, not you!
Oh, thank you so much. His Auntie posted a sweet video of him on Youtube, his grandpa wrote the music. It's under Christian Stehlik, if you would like to see it.
I love Donovan, And his music, they took the only good video of sing for you by donovan, and that made me sad, and PISSED ME OFF! I hope they can put it back on.

I have his double album "Gift from a flower to a garden"....very few have heard of it. It is full of his poetry and melodies....
The first concert I ever went to was a Donovan concert.
Its pretty neat to listen again....

All the pain on this page.
God sure loves us, don't he/she?
Perhaps It's upset because we don't have enough wars going at the moment.
I'm sure Obama will soon toss Her another bone or two.
How could Donovan write theis peerless song when all the rest of his stuff is crap?
