  • 4:20 HAND PAPER

  • Bring Down the FCC!

  • I so remember this

    Thank you!

  • Say no to CENSORSHIP and say yes to the fun of these classics!

  • Cartoons like this NEED to make a comeback as short subjects in theaters to show kids that there were GOOD cartoons.

  • no not the raven, more like the tale tale heart

  • the raven

  • Curse you tom petty looking cuckoo

  • i love it when he splats his hand with the hammer xDxD

  • The beginning reminds me so much of Edgar Allen Poe.

  • It's hard to root for a cat so stupid! I suppose sitting in a different room once per hour would have been too much trouble.

  • I forgot how good cartoons used to be.

  • OMG I HAVENT SEEN THIS SINCE 1981!!!

  • Dobra bajka.Bardzo lubię bajki Texa Averego :)

  • If I'm not mistaken they used both the weight falling through floor scene AND the cat knitting pants scenes in Tom and Jerry.

  • That's Hanna's voice as the narrator?

  • Nope. Daws Butler to be correct.

  • "However, in respect to his memory, I felt I owed him one last moment of silence... *BANG*"

LOL!!! One of the all-time greats. Thanks for posting!

  • "Then I knew it meant....MUURDERRR"

    Lol, gets me every time.

  • remember seeing it

    very nice, thanks

  • I am 34 and i still watch old cartoons me my son

    love this one.

  • I'm 34 too and love this one. They are gold these cartoons. These are great to introduce a new generation of kids too. Good for you.

  • Tex Avery is the greatest animator of all time.

  • Not an animator... He is the director.

  • This is one of Tex Avery's best.

  • they used the same the same scream tom mkaes in tom jerry at 4:22

  • That's actually the voice of Bill Hanna (one of the directors of the T&J cartoons).

  • hey it was gene wilder that was narrating...gosh wat a comedic legend!

  • It does sound like Gene Wilder, but it's actually Daws Butler.

  • The cartoon came out in 1950. Gene would've been in his mid or late teens.

  • Edgar Allen Poe's favourite cartoon.

  • Was that Vincent Price narrating in the beginning?

  • I think it's Daws Butler.

  • Haven't seen this cartoon in a while! Thanks for uploading this!

  • MGM's best cartoons were made by Tex Avery.

  • Great cartoon.

Call me crazy, but I don't remember the scene where the cat gets shot in the head and the cuckoo pretends to shoot himself. Was that part not broadcast?

  • They edited that part out because of the violence, sadly. :(

  • cptzeejay,

do you remember a cartoon where a guy was in heaven and he told his whole life story everything he told was taken literally. The cartoon ended with a cat holding a tongue. Do you remember that cartoon? If so what is it called?

  • I think the cartoon you're looking for is called "Symphony in slang" by Tex Avery.

    You can watch it here:

    watch?v=Ot92Yfovvvg

  • symphony in slang

  • i prefer Heck Allen than Rich Hogan, although both are genius.

  • This is one of Tex Avery's best.
