  • The western psychology has a word explaining this type of hypothesis which the Prosecution would imagine such acts of brutality on the Japanese Army. It is called 'Reminiscence' and also 'Projection'. What their ancestors had been doing for thousands of years remains alive as the 'unconscious memory' that is, 'reminiscence' and project it on some other person. It is something like the witch urging Macbeth to kill his rival.

  • the movie tells us how chinese are suffering under the evil japanese at the time.If they want to fight, ok, but dont hurt us citizens. At the time, japanese killed over 300000 people just in nanjing, they killed more at other places. the thing is that most of the people they killed are not soldiers , they are innocent citizens. At the time, Japanese treated japanese soldiers as heros, and they think killing chinese as much as they can is a kind of "honor" and the right thing to do.fuck japanese

  • As usual a heroic American and Chinese people speaking English everywhere...Another hollywood trash.

  • @poyizisa The people are not speaking English, they are speaking Chinese/Japanese etc.. however the people speak English so English audiences can understand them :) Otherwise it would have to be subtitled, and subtitled movies make considerably less than non-subtitled :)

  • as a hongkonger, when i see those poor chinese girls speaking fluent english (with chinese accent ) at that time, i think it is simply nonsense to me, watch it if you want to, but sorry i don't buy it.

  • @3066961 dude, stop being racist to your own race. it's effing shameful. i think chinglish was originated from hong kong when the British took over. ;)

  • @thelastpersonstandin

i become a "racist" just because i don't like this Zhang yimou movie ?!

have you watch his "To Live" ?

what do you know about racism ? how do you define racist ? share with me.

  • @3066961 read history book please. Those students studied in Church school which taught english, like HK high school kids who can also speak english.

  • @imwan1

  • A good one. Believe me. Remind me of such classics as Schindler's List, Empire of Sun.

  • i think this movie is great and tells a good story but i don't want Chinese government to use this movie as a propaganda because the also financed this movie production if you all should be aware.

  • @jiggar22 For your information, "An earlier version of this article incorrectly described the source of financing for “The Flowers of War.” While some of the money for the film came in the form of loans from some state banks, the film was mostly privately financed." (New York Times)

  • @jiggar22 All film is propaganda. That's why we are so utterly consumed by great films. They tell stories that are deeply important to the film maker and the subject.

    You should 'be aware' too.

  • @morningglorify agree. Hollywood is a more powerful weapon than a-bombs for america.

  • 2nd Oscar for Mr. Bale?

  • fucking jap

lets see how bad jap did to chinese

    someone from hk

  • @khlam620 I dislike all movies by Zhang yimou, except this one. This movie is the most excellent one. I never believe Japanese feel guilty for WWII. Some one from HK too.

  • does anyone know the name of the music playing at 1.43?

  • @AlwaysandForever80 The movie has an original soundtrack composed Su Cong (and/or Chen Qigang?) , with violin solos played by Joshua Bell

  • I just saw a screening last night. it is top notch...

Super touching and deep film with twists I did not expect or see coming. Go see it then come back here and talk about it. by fork23 2 days ago FROM IMDB

  • Who have watched this movie in North American ?I want to know your attitude towards it.

  • I am afraid this film cannot be shown in Japan, again! After the movies "John Rabble" and"the city of life and death".

  • This isn't the international trailer. I think it's the North American one.

  • @cpoplover21 yes, this is the North American trailer

  • he is waaaaaaaaaaay too hot for any chinese chick.

  • @bomchickawowooow wow... talk about ignorance. The lead actress named Ni Ni is gorgeous. Different types of beauty.
