That makes no sense at all the torque from the engine is distrubuted through the rear differential which can be uneven and causes the car to "wobble" on the track making it move around thus needing the moveable suspension.
And to continue . Adding a "pair of little wheels" doesn't prevent a wheelie trust me a wheelie bar does not STOP a wheelie from occurring the driver stops an all out wheelie from occurring. Also back when this fine Chevy was created there was no such thing as 4 wheel drive cars. Also a classic like this that has been adapted to run like this is a very impressive feat much more in my opinion then lets say a 1001hp NEW European Bugatti veyron. They didnt even use some initiative and use say half the turbos, or half the pistons, no they simply took the equiv of a 2.0l turbo engine and multiplied it by 4 exactly. Thats THE lamest way of doing it. FACT.

If the car had more, it would probably be a finicky maintenance nightmare and totally impractical, like all those 4 and 6 cylinder engines with homemade turbos slapped on them making 750 bhp, but then they blow up after a few months of driving. @davidlouispaul HP isn't everything. Nobody needs more that 1000. If the car had more, it would probably be a finicky maintenance nightmare and totally impractical, like all those 4 and 6 cylinder engines with homemade turbos slapped on them making 750 bhp, but then they blow up after a few months of driving. I don't consider them real cars, but more like shitty experiments.

@LFSvidMan VW have done with the Veyron, what all other 'supercar' manufacturers would not dare do for fear of being laughed at. A supercar by definition should be super in every way, ie design, aerodynamics, chassis design, weight, balance, and engine design with maxiumum tuning. The Veyron is none of this, its heavy, unexotic materials, needs 4wd for handling, and only acheieves 1000bhp by using a gigantic engine, and is only 125bhp per litre.

I want a car with no compromise, a highly tuned engine, chassis matched to it, as light as possible, as nimble as possible, as responsive.
You dont get that from nearly 2 tons of lead, coupled with an engine that weighs a ton, only revs to 6k and makes only 125bhp per litre, and needing 4 turbos to do it.
That is what guys in sheds do - no expertise in tuning, so they go and replace with with some big block.

half the drag cars claim street legal, running leaded race fuel, no cats, nitrous and all other shit. But in the end a state inspection only checks for drivability, ie. turn signals, brakes in good condition, tires, windshields, headlights.
