..and if talk abt skill you must cite various other great players like george best, ronaldo, ronaldinho, cruyff....etc etc.. Carlos Alberto and other players of his time were only good, not phenomenal like pele seconded by maradona.

Carlos Alberto and Garrincha are LEGEND! they are in the all time world cup team of the 20th century! I think george best was better then pele too! ive seen footage of amazing stuff hes done and he played in peles era. Why isnt peles stuff on film?

good question -- what you can see today isnt all you mite see -- a fire on TV Record(a brazilian tv cahnnel) destroy films/clips of pele playing in his early years, scoring spetacular/impressive goals. But did you watch youtube videos Pele / Pele Extreme / Maradona vs Pele? Pls check all them if can take the time.

rite but mostly in his early years it was a commonplace to see pele scoring goals carrying the ball starting fm his field passing various defenders up to the opponents net. Tha goal maradona did in the 86WC in a game against england --fine, but ive seen more impressive goals socalled "average" players did elsewhere

youre wrong -- peles mates were great because they were playing with the king. In 1970 - peles last cup - he did it all and one can say he won that cup by himself I think its the other way around: maradona was the best forward in his specific position and peles the best player overall. Pele could even play as a goalkeeper

i want proof that pele was better then maradona.. im too young to have seen either play but theres video footage of maradona and pele played and there wasnt much footage. there seemed to be footage of peles greatest goals and achievements and i dont think any of them equalled what ive seen from maradona

macmmich theres no way to prove who was better bcause its a question of opinion. But if you look at it as facts just check both players background. Pele was perfect in every way, in and off the field. The world press acclaimed him the king not only the brazilain press. Maradona was nodoubt great but pele was more than just great.

Pele played striker because his goal scoring abilities were great. and pele was always on an allstar team u cant say carlos alberto and garrincha and others were only good because of him

dont agree - pele and maradona played much like the same way dribbling, trickling, stricking with precision, and assisting team mates and - most importantly - achieving practical results. What do you mean "skill" pelé was an extremely skilled players -no one is called a king with a reason-respect yr opinion tho. the only player who was even close to great that played with maradona would have been valdano. Im talking about mexico '86 when maradona took on the world single handedly. and as for skill what im talking about is video footage. Sure pele COULD have been extremely skillful but personally ive never seen anything phenomenal he has done, for all i know his goals could have mostly been set up perfectly that anyone could have scored.
