In Alaska we voted against cameras on our streets and they are here anyway. Started at one intersection and now at almost all even in downtown areas on buildings facing sidewalks and even put them on top of buildings on all sides. It started over seas and is here! Soon it will get worse look at the UK they have millions of cameras there.

You're darned right there's cause for concern about these cameras. It's called a surveillance state and it's a key component in the establishment of a police state. Now we'll be watched and recorded as we go about our business. Your first clue that this is meant to oppress and isn't about security is the fact that these cameras don't work. They don't stop crime or catch criminals. We know that because they've failed where they've been tried in the UK and San Francisco.

There is no point to these cameras if recent history has taught us anything. CCTV cameras magicaly "shut off" during the window of the 7/7 bombings and all video of the Pentagon being hit on 9/11 were confiscated and never shown.
