  • Throughout this D5 interview I really love Steve's ability to de-normalize Bill's comments. Steve is quick and to the point while Bill's likes to wrap his discussions into loops. This says a lot about both companies from the top down.

  • @FullArsenalTV Did you type "SteAve (Steve) on your PC? And to remind himself how Mac is better?

  • @G58 If you were so "Business Smart" you would realise how unproductive it is writing on a YouTube wall. Time is money - But being so knowledgeable and wise you would know this - right ?

  • Lol @ fights on you tube chat.. MMA's newest video viral nerd magicians

  • "cock sucker", well you are clearly not as old as you claim to be. do you think i put my real age on youtube?.. LOL. Market capital, do you even know what that is? Yes apple is worth more now, Microsoft is solely a software shop while apple sells both hardware and software so of course NOW they have more market value, after many many years of innovating and creating new hardware. In the software department, Microsoft is still the leader. Market capital is simply investors expectations kid.

  • @ymala1 Steve isn't motivated by money. That's obvious. So he doesn't understand or respect people who are. He IS motivated by being right, and that's a complex concept to grasp. We are all often right in hindsight. In business the trick is to be right - in the right field - at the right time. Paying early employees too much kills their motivation and desire to be creative. Gates has more money than god but absolutely no imagination. Money killed whatever creativity he had. .

  • @G58 G58 let me tell you right now you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Steve not motivated by money? Lets see, yea he is smart, he realized MUCH of the population of the US has no idea how to use computers or whats inside of them. So what does he do? He makes a cartoon like interface and machines solely based off aesthetics and sells them at extremely high prices.. not motivated by money? do NOT call that creativity. and hes not NEARLY the best business brain. What a joke.

  • @blahblahblahimbored Let me tell you boy, I've been in business since before you stopped wetting your pants, so you've got nothing to teach me. Apple is the most successful company in its sector, making profits selling tech in a recession. Its latest premium product sells at a lower price point than their competition, meaning the competition can't make a lesser machine for anything like a competitive price. That is great business. Watch and learn.

  • @G58 Dont call me boy, you have no idea how old i am. "Being in business" means nothing. "Lower price point" .. once again, the only reason Apple is selling is because people (like you i suppose) know nothing about computers and want only aesthetics which is unfortunate but fine by me.. business? please dont even try to compare Microsofts revenue and profit with Apples, because im sure you with all your years in business know how many tens of billions more Microsoft receives over apple.

BOY
  • @ymala1 If you're talking about Woz, then Steve stole nothing. He turned a very bright hobbyist into a multimillionaire - something he could not have achieved on his own. He's not a saint and I never suggested he was. But he is a genius and the best business brain we will ever see.

  • windows is a copycat who stole apples ideas!

  • Good vid.. Either way in that 5 min interview they earnt my lifetime salary.

  • Bill Gates is just an all around nice guy, and I think that shows in what he's up to nowadays, versus Steve.

  • @ymala1 Not only is this a naive assessment of both men's characters, it's hugely inaccurate and plainly wrong. Gates is demonstrating every trait of denial, self delusion and self aggrandizement. He actually believes that predicting the future is the same, and is as important as actually doing something. Furthermore, he betrays his rampant untrustworthiness. Steve has the confidence of a man who's not only got it right more often and won, he has a lot more ideas in reserve. Study body language.

  • @G58 I'm sorry, are you talking about the men's characters? You're trying to paint the man that stole his friend's work to make a windfall, the man who didn't want to give loyal early employees stock options, who axed apple's corporate philanthropy div., who believes he's so beyond the reach of the law that he doesn't need number plates, who can stand up and blame a critical fault in one of their flagship products on customer's 'holding it wrong'? As a saint?

Good business man /= good man.

  • @FullArsenalTV STEAVE might but STEVE doesn't.

  • @FullArsenalTV breaking into someone's home, tying them to a chair, holding a knife to their neck forcing them to use a PC is a criminal offense

  • @FullArsenalTV Steve Jobs uses a mac but who is this STEAVE?

  • 4:09 Its magical! Holy Crap the iPad tagline was from Bill Gates!

  • There's so many "hidden" messages in their talks... feel like indirect insults.

  • WTF at 3:16

  • @jamesoleruster

    LOL, msn?

  • So someone at the end says: but really who stole the mouse and windows interface idea from IBM first Bill or Steeve?

  • @contact1araya Steve Jobs took it from Xerox because they didn't think it would take off. They had it on a computer in the back room, they showed it to Jobs on a tour.

  • @FullArsenalTV Cause he doesnt want to buy software,

  • i like the giggles at the end.

  • Everyone was clapping for Steve Jobs....Then the iPad came out

  • @Wa133D95

    good question...

  • Those two should just get Room.

  • LUV 

  • bill sits there like steaven hawkins

  • @StylerGameplay i thought the same thing..haha

  • @FullArsenalTV

    steave ?

  • i think Steve is better as friend, person. and bill is better for making good products...

    my opinion

  • @pufixas Good products like Vista ? Or iPhone, iPad, iPod and revolutionnary products like that ?

  • @BobbyBaloney

GOD DAMNIT SHUT UP ABOUT VISTA!!!

Vista is old!!! Vista is mistake!!! Vista is shit!!

Good products like Xbox, Windows xp, windows 7, zune, bunch of software... not iPad the owergrown iPod Touch...

  • @pufixas Zune ? Shit. A copy, more expensive. iPod touch is a revolution, a complete new way of doing things. you can't discredit it.

  • @BobbyBaloney

i have iPod Touch... it sucks...

  • @BobbyBaloney

Gates sold microsoft awhile ago, if you didn't know that. He split it in two. They released vista two years before they were supposed to, and it still wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. Vista was supposed to be what windows 7 is now.

    Imagine that fanboy.

  • Macs are for pretencious twats who think they are being clever by 'breaking the mold' by using an operating system which is incapeable of many of the functions windows has had for many years.

  • @kleinmein86 Gates bought an OS (QDOS) from a small company in Seattle (Seattle Computer Products) which he then renamed to MS-DOS so where is the inventive step here ?

  • @Kiischti85 Thats just good business, it happens all the time in the business world. The Windows NT Kernel, on the other hand is entirely Microsoft's creation, whereas Mac's are still using a Unix kernel with a little sparkle on it.

  • @FullArsenalTV as do you clearly, your spelling is terrible.

  • I bought an apple and they gave me a computer :(

  • @Mannyga What I did, if you REALLY wanted a mac engadget.com/2004/06/09/turn-your-pc-into-a-mac/

  • would have been kick ass if they served apples as snacks in the show XD

  • I just made a theory after watching this, it's that; if one was to be a fanboy of apple technically one could be considered computationally homosexual or if one was to be a fanboy of Microsoft one could be considered computationally homosexual too, because biologically for anything to actually work there has to be a male and a female, same goes with computers - for you to enjoy everything consumer computers have to offer you're going to need a Mac and a Windows machine. (Linux is transgendered).

  • @aussienerds I mean to offence to anyone however, I support sexualities of all kind.

  • Gates is still in puberty

  • steve is like omg shut the fuck up

  • I really don't like Steve Jobs, it strikes me that he's a very jealous, bitter, angry, unpleasant person at heart... I think he's got a hidden agenda and it's evident in his software...

  • @annoythis what do you think it is?

  • Steve Jobs has a games for windows account :P

  • man ut would be funny if they got into a fight i mean both of them hate eachother but really they are 2 different companies

  • Both guys use Linux at home. Mac and Windows are just their day job hustles for cash.

  • @JesusManson323 i can disagree thoughtfully but i know ur just trolling

just a question though, how'd you get ur youtube name?

  • @macfreak18 My screen name was inspired by "Marilyn Manson" who said his band name was a combination of the two extremes of American life: Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson.

My screen name is a general comment about Western Civilization during the last 5 centuries.

  • @JesusManson323 oh i see now. i figured marilyn manson was a part of it, but i thought you just liked jesus and manson.

i fckin love manson, favorite band ever

  • FOR FULL OF LATEST D8 INTERVIEW WITH STEVE VIDEO HIT:

    prathameshpawar(dot)blogspot(dot)com

  • lol Steve never changes his clothes, maybe get new job :D

  • they both own each other products, how do you think they keep battling. they know each others shit. and update there own to beat out what the other did to there products

  • @facelesstdt tis a very good point, actually. but maybe there's a spy for each other's company, pulling off the crazy ass espionage

  • Steve Jobs owns a PC.

  • @gazzalite751 macs get all there parts for the laptops fromt he same places everyone gets the parts for there pc builds. most in foxconn, and if you read the news youll see that foxconns not doign to great.

they are overpriced becuase its a mac, therefore you pay more. the processor is inte. the video cards are nvidia/ati, the mobo is foxconn. etc etc.

also your drivers on mac, arnt made by the companies that mdet he product (nvidia drivers arnt by nvidia. etc etc. thats why the drivers suck.

  • Steve still seems a little bit tense. Bill seems utterly relaxed, and not afraid to give compliments to Steve. That's the confidence that having all the money in the world and nothing more to prove buys you.

  • wow. everything bill said was blah blah blah blah blah... when jobs spoke, for some reason, i just listened... WTF!?

  • 0:18 Awkward..... steve is rolling in his chair while bill is looking the other way...

  • bills just a nice guy.. jobs is a douche bag.. even dresses like one

  • Good thing dad loves software development then!

  • bill gates is such a douchebag, but if he were to give me just one billion dollars of his multi billion dollar empire, i may change my mind and get a PC again... but then again id prolly have to spend half of that money one recovering all my lost dada from shitty outsourced products that you can get for pcs

  • @BluHaredFreek Why not buy proper hardware? When you build a PC you have the freedom to decide what you put in it.

  • Win 7 and Mac OS X are equal, both have their positive and negative aspects!

  • @TheDot08 Win 7 has more negatives.

  • @TheDot08

Can't think of any positive for Windows7.. I use it everyday

  • @GarebearShields

What about games ;) (for me that is a pretty important factor) or what about more diversity of programs.

But between us: I prefer Mac OS X too since it is more stable^^ but the decision wheter you prefere Mac OS X or Windows 7 depends on what you want.

  • @TheDot08 i have run vista for an entire year and had it not crash once, even less on windows 7 beta, and now i run windows 7 pro. xp ehh that crashed a bit. but if you have not used windows latly then you cant really say mac osx is more stable. my friends macbook pro crashes pretty often. oh and his games crash constantly. and games on macosx , since the drivers arnt made by ati/nvidia the performance is horrible. just look at the valve updates for hl2.

  • @awsometurkey They work perfectly fine for me but I agree that games work on Windows better ... but still it depends on what you prefer some people prefer Windows 7 because of the games. I use both cause that is the perfect solution for me I work and surf in the Internet on my Mac but I play games on my Windows 7 PC.

  • @TheDot08 i dont own a mac mainly becuae i have no money, but also because my pc ismore powerfull. but the main reason is i do server work, make game servers and such. im also a tinkerer, meaning i do alot of beta stuff, or test things for a few days, most of the programs i do things with are windows only, such as tethering my phone to use its camera as a webcam and stuff.

  • @awsometurkey how well does he treat his mac?

  • What is so good about apple? Its simple to use and looks good, how about the prices? Can you build your own pc and install mac on it? Why aren't games made on mac? I haven't tried out mac but i have a feeling that its only simple and good looking for normal computer users...

  • @DreadMauler It works better, faster, has a better and more logical design, looks better, can play Windows better than most PC's can and for every Windows application you can't find for Mac, there is a better alternative.

  • @Thebassjunk I didn't really understand are you talking about software or hardware? And i also have no idea is mac the OS or the hardware? :D In case its the latter i think it sucks like most pre-built computers?

  • @DreadMauler

Games are switching to Mac now, take a look at Steam. As far as price goes, Macs end up being 20% in the long run.

  • Lol steve looks pissed xDDD

  • Gates is a crook! Jobs is the true visionary

Apple has WAYY better equipment :)

  • @Bluefalcon3 way better equipment? microsoft doesn't make any equipment lol- they only make an operating system that can function on many different kinds of hardware including macs. so you can't compare the two companies by their hardware. you can however compare snow leopard to windows 7, and if that's the case then windows 7 wins cuz its 2010 and finder sucks just as much as it did in tiger.

  • whoes the the guy next to steve

    ?

  • @hetaliashippuden dumb ass,

if you tried to make a joke it's not funny

  • I run a medium sized SEO / SEM - Search Engine Optimization & Search Engine Marketing company. We have tried, over the years, several times to use some MACs, but failed each time. Why? Because the quality business level software that we use, about 40 different tools, are simply not available for MACs. If the software was available, we wouldn't have given the MACs away. Thx Abi.

  • I have nothing against Mac's OR PC's. I just think people want to buy a Mac for the brand name. It's like comparing a pair of pant's from Hollister and Wal-Mart that are exactly the same. But people prefer to buy it from Hollister because..well, it's from Hollister!

  • @mcvdigital Saying a Mac and PC are exactly the same just might be the most retarded thing I have heard in a long time.

  • @justinchensley

Haha. Alright sir, why was my comment so retarded? I mean, I find very little differences between the PC and the Mac. What, does the Mac look prettier or is there something I'm not getting?

  • @kleinmein86 : yeah, and stole the OS graphic interface idea from... Xerox. So, all you people, stop claiming windows is a copy of Mac OS. Aplle can't make a single piece of software on their own. It's like apple's a car maker and microsoft a gas supplier. They can sell gas to every car brand (apple included), but mac needs to make their own gas, buy it or copy the formula from other people

  • Bill gates wanted to program Macs, but Steve Jobs said NO, so Bill Gates went and made Windows and now rules the computer world. Apple was a dieing company for years, the ipod saved them, then adopting intel saved them because that new G4 chip was garbage.

glad to hear Steve Jobs finally admitted it was his fault

  • Comment removed

  • apple is better!

  • @Angelosave and linux the best :-D

  • omg this is just like those mac vs pc commercials... Steve is cooler and younger, (or so it looks), and bill is in worse shape and speaks like a nurdddd hahaha. I still like windows more but whatev

  • @ZipCrazy : bill talks like a nerd 'cause he IS one. He's a friggin' programmer, and one of the best. Steve... well, let's say he's very good as a visionary, but you can't live from your cristal ball forever.....

  • favorate fail

  • Steve Jobs is a tool.

  • Gates uses an apple at home

  • @Kippest how do you know

can u give me the link where u got that info frm?

  • STEVE JOBS OWNS A PC!

  • really? how do you know that?

  • @Kippest and a huge copy machine ;-P

  • @Kippest apple works with linux

  • @Kippest

Yeah, and Steve Jobs owns a PC.

What CEO wouldn't examine and try their competitors product? Just because Steve Jobs has a PC doesn't mean he thinks PCs are better, so Bill Gates using a Mac doesn't mean he thinks Mac are better, and it is certainly not conclusive evidence that one product is better.

  • @Mcmunchly Gates uses an iPod too

  • @Kippest

    Everybody uses an ipod

  • @Mcmunchly : luckily i'm not everybody, just a nobody...

    And nobody IS perfect!!!!

  • @Mcmunchly So true.

  • @Mcmunchly

    steve doesn't have a pc

  • @muk546

Yes he probably does. To be successful you must learn from the competition. It comes from learning from the others mistakes, or acknowlidging that the other does something better than you.

But if he uses it for fun/work, I guess not ^^

  • @Kippest no....he doesnt....ipods and iphones are basically banned from his house. (they dont buy them, and im sure its some form of an insult if you visit him and bring your iphone)

  • @Kippest no he does not fuck face jobs uses a PC he said it himself!

  • @Kippest His guilty pleasure! LOL

  • @Kippest

apple? how can anyone use apple? they can eat apple... not use it..

  • Sadly he's right

  • Bill wins

  • You maybe correct to a degree, but there is a balance to everything. Being number one is a pretty lonely number and you can say "well who needs friends if you are self reliant" well that is true too, but you don't need anymore enemies as well, and being number 1 is very stressful being that everyone is trying to knock you down.

Do what you have to do, but don't do it to the point where it will cause you to have more problems than it is worth.

So yeah it does matter what form it comes in.

  • steve looks pissed xD

  • You can tell Steve just wants to say everything he is thinking but he can't.

  • @soliza1204 he is richer

  • Watching this video you can tell that Jobs it's not a good guy, but rather an egocentric and selfish person. Gates, on the contrary, projects a very peaceful and generous personality. Money has nothing to do with that

  • But Bill is at peace, doesn't his retirement, money and philanthropy come into that? I'm not taking sides here, but Steve is still working his ass off and Bill gets to be philanthropic all day; giving is the best gift of all.

  • i disagree, gates knows that jobs and apple have a good looking machine and they cater to our desire to have something that functions and looks sexy. gates said it himself, he always thought technical before everything else. think of one as a website coder and the other as the graphic designer.

  • @malicho69 10000 thumbs up,bro

  • Steve's closing statements are very, very interesting in light of some of the moves that Apple has been making. The purchase of Quattro Wireless, the partnership with McGraw-Hill, it seems like Steve really meant what he was saying, that Apple could benefit from Microsoft's ability to partner with people. Cool to see Apple applying those ideas now.

  • They may be getting smarter, but you should be more critical; partnerships can stiffle competition and innovation. Microsoft's 'partnering' obviously helped it (tremendously is still an understatement), but it had and still has horrible implications for competition, and competition is what drives the market; partnership is good (business without it is patently absurd), but at that level, competition is better.

  • Competition only drives a market so far before demand is altered. Partnerships are often that next step to increasing the value of a given product, opening it up to more eyes, refining it. The App Store is a great example of this.

If big companies merge, and dominate the market, that's one thing, but partnerships serve a specific purpose, and are over. I disagree that big companies can't benefit the consumer in this regard. Google and Apple partnered, and now we have iPhone, and Android.

  • At what point did Google and Apple partner?

  • @Stan50 : Apple partnered with Google to make Google the primary search tool on the iPhone and iPod Touch. This deal is a multimillion dollar deal which brings in a ton of money for Google. Further, a senior Google employee sat on the Apple Board of Trustees for some time, which, above any deal, suggested that the relationship was amiable and was not an issue of direct competition. This so-called war between the two companies has really just recently begun.

  • @berlethc If Google really had partnered with Apple, then Apple wouldn't be suing Google's biggest partner in the Mobile Phone Market (HTC) for barely a reason.

I think you need to really recheck your sources. Google and Apple are now rivals because of the iPhone and Android.

  • @TehShitGoose

search for "Ballmer on Bing as iPhone Default, Google and Apple Still Stable

Google pays Apple $500 million per year for search integration in iPhone, iPod touch, and Safari. While recent moves by Google have pissed off Steve Jobs, this article should show you that they use each other and have a "solid" relationship.

This "war" is new, and their rivalry may jeopardize the deal in the future, which only adds to my previous comment.

  • Loook at how steve is sitting. He hates him

  • @msa1985 nothing surprizing. this piece of shit stole all his ideas -_-

  • @msa1985 you know the reason behind that??? It is said that Bill Gates copied the Windows from the first Mac OS.. this is one of the biggest debatable topics

  • @msa1985 nonsense. he realizes they are both fucking lucky.

  • @msa1985 Haha idiot, they've been friends for a long time.

  • @eaglewings8 Please watch pirates of silicon valley, One can say buy no means are they friends, they were very close friends in the past.

  • yeah those damn crabs!

  • i am having a feeling that that fought after this...

  • 0:20-0:22 XD

  • In which year was this interview?

  • stupid steve jobs fuck mac stupid itunes is stupid jajajajaajajajajaja xd I love pc

  • spick

  • you are a fucking idiot

  • Bill Gates is a nice man, where as Steve Jobs tend just to be an arrogant moron...

  • go and have sex with your pc if you love gates so much

  • So my PC equals microsoft? I dont get it.. Microsoft is software and isnt your computer personal?

  • I find it the other way round, and im NOT a mac fanboy i hate the OS and theyre WAY to overpriced, windows ftw, but steve jobs is a better man tbh :P

  • How come? No really, tell me...

  • How come what? The 'I hate mac' bit or 'Steve jobs = better man' bit, rofl :)

  • yeah the steve jobs better man thing lol

  • He just seems it in this video i think :P

  • Thats a console you fucking dickweed, it has nothing to do with this.

  • oh my god i just realize this shit just now steve jobs and pjil collins are the same person

  • ROFL !!

  • anyone noticed that steve jobs almost always wears turtlenecks

  • at least Steve Jobs showed a little humbleness.

    That's inspiring!

  • wow, he does not. he's a total ass to bill. "its like giving a glass of ice water to a guy in hell heheh" bill is so nice.
