When singers perform several songs in one performance, they also have to remember the lyrics to there own songs from time to time.

I've also seen tv monintors run with song lyrics because as a singer, it's easy to forget lyrics, especially if you're singing so many songs in one sitting. Whether it's your own song or someone elses.

There's nothing wrong with looking at the word during rehersal or performance time for that matter.

It's all about how they present the piece.
