  • Haha im eating sweetcorn at the moment too :)

  • That's what I call corn fed. LOL Great Idea you have there.

  • Another good way to get the kernel off is to eat them

  • my wife kinda doesn't like making sweet corn tamales, but I love eating them and I don't mind doing the shaving of the corn, nut with this method I'll do it every time.. thanks.

  • I love this I will have to try it next year!!

  • i was watching music videos, how did i get here.

  • Cool, but ya' still gotta get the husks off first, and therein lay the hassle.

  • Mmmmmmmmmmmm!!! There's nothing better that Mid-Western Sweetcorn! Go Hoosiers!!! :)

  • I have had this corn cutter for years. Bought it back in the 70's. Never used a drill with it though!!!

  • You are using the exact method that we use here.......18 volt VSR Dewalt drill and the same cutter........I cut the head off from a 3/8" lag bolt and added the washer......same as your using. Works 20 times faster than any other method.

If you have a bucket of water......you can sping all the silks off by spinning the ear in your hand underwater...then just take it out, and run it thru the cutter.

Quick and easy and you can do a truckload of corn in a hurry.

  • Thanks for posting this video you have saved me so much time.... Take a look at my Channel and you will see what I have to do in about 3 weeks.

    Thanks again!

  • this is awesome

  • what is the special device?

  • can you buy it at a hardware store?

  • LOL. Am I seeing straight? You are amazing. Related to Red Green?

  • That is epic! I want to get some corn just to do this!

  • u used the mac to edit this

  • Awesome !!!! Nice!!!! Hehe. Sorry for my noob question however, what type of bit did you use on the drill? =D

  • you cant beat nh corn

  • okay, I get the drill - but what's the thing your running the cobs through? What is that ?

  • @clnfhs74

It is a newer type of cutter that we found at the hardware store. We have found them at such places like Rural King, Wal-Mart and Menards.

  • @clnfhs74 I just bought one on eBay for $8 delivered to Canada, Can't wait to do my corn I wasn't looking forward to it this fall but now I can do this mechanically with a drill I'm looking forward to it, I love fresh frozen corn in the winter.

  • i hope thats not monsanto corn

  • Yankee inginuity,fer sure.

  • I need one of these devices badly. Anyway you could tell me how to aquire one? Thanks

  • @BigZ71Tahoe I made one out of a lag screw with a 5/16 head and a 5/16 hex bit stuck together with J B weld. got the cutter an Bed bath and beyond. works awsome

  • @TheBrownsquad - basically what you see here. Nothing really to it!

  • @BigZ71Tahoe I just bought one on eBay for $9.00

  • what an awesome idea! Thanks for sharing!!!!

  • Better than the frozen or canned corn you buy in the store. I love sweetcorn all year long. Are you from Indiana?

  • Yeah, we are Hoosiers! Nothing like corn from Indiana! We share with our family and use it all year long as well.
