my wife kinda doesn't like making sweet corn tamales, but I love eating them and I don't mind doing the shaving of the corn, nut with this method I'll do it every time.. thanks.
You are using the exact method that we use here.......18 volt VSR Dewalt drill and the same cutter........I cut the head off from a 3/8" lag bolt and added the washer......same as your using. Works 20 times faster than any other method.
If you have a bucket of water......you can sping all the silks off by spinning the ear in your hand underwater...then just take it out, and run it thru the cutter.
Quick and easy and you can do a truckload of corn in a hurry.
@clnfhs74 I just bought one on eBay for $8 delivered to Canada, Can't wait to do my corn I wasn't looking forward to it this fall but now I can do this mechanically with a drill I'm looking forward to it, I love fresh frozen corn in the winter.
@BigZ71Tahoe I made one out of a lag screw with a 5/16 head and a 5/16 hex bit stuck together with J B weld. got the cutter an Bed bath and beyond. works awsome

@clnfhs74
It is a newer type of cutter that we found at the hardware store. We have found them at such places like Rural King, Wal-Mart and Menards.

Better than the frozen or canned corn you buy in the store. I love sweetcorn all year long. Are you from Indiana?
PS6577 2 years ago
Yeah, we are Hoosiers! Nothing like corn from Indiana! We share with our family and use it all year long as well.
