Your cat did not spit up a hairball. My cat has been doing that for two days now, and no hairball. I'm starting to get worried. Do you give your cat some oil?
BTW, feline asthma is very common and usually it's pretty easy to manage-- but it can be serious if not treated and managed.. Check out the other asthma videos, and then watch some hairball videos, and you will see the difference. Again, see your vet and show him/her this video that you've posted here.
I'm a vet tech. That looks like feline asthma. Vomiting or "hairballing" look different from that. I've got a cat with asthma and when she has an attack, she does exactly what your cat is doing there. I HIGHLY recommend a vet visit. Take that video with you if you can and show it to the vet. My cat had chest X rays and an exam to nail the diagnosis. Now she gets meds twice a day and has an inhaler to use if needed, and she's doing great.
Hahah your cat is way more dignified about puking up hairballs than mine. Mine looks like she's having an epileptic fit or something when she does it.
doesn't look like a hairball at all. my cat has been doing it on and off for a year until he threw up and there was a roundworm! apparently in one of the stages of the life cycle of a roundworm, the larvae travel from the intestines to the lungs causing some kind of irritation...imagine, those buggers squirming in your throat!! so i dewormed him, and i've been doing it regularly now and he stopped coughing like that.
must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 mins the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you better start @ copy and pastin now
Hey, fishmonger! Some unsolicited advice: Do a very (very!) gentle (gentle!) Heimlich maneuver on kitty, and that hairball will come right up -- or s/he'll swallow it right back down. One way or the other, no more wheezy-chokey-grossness for poor kitty!
That is a sick cat. That was not a hair ball, that is coughing/asthna issue. That cat was not pukeing he is clearing his lungs trying to get more air. I hope I am wrong but I don't think so. P.S bring the video to the vet it should save you money on x-ray.
Also please search youtube for feline asthma attack and you will see. Good luck kittie.

Hi guys. I think it was winter and she usually gets a winter coat. Hence, more fur. The collar was OK, may just have looked a bit tight. Thanks for your concern.
if u dont mind me asking wat kind of cat is that cuz i have a kitten like that and i think its a tea tiger but im not sure plz reply back.................
@fishmonger22 - Hi guys. The cat is a descendant of the african wildcat. More commonly known as a tabby. Phoebe is still still alive and doing well for those that were concerned about her wellbeing.
the coller doesnt look too tight to me, if you can fit two fingers under it comfortably its fine, but it doesnt look like your cat has a hairball. They only gag like that if they actually spit a hairball out
I sure hope you took this cat to a vet. If it was a hairball, you'd see a hairball. My 3 year old cat is on a inhaler for asthma. it's not funny, and your pet can die. people need to be more aware of this.
my cat does almost the same, only abit 'lighter'.. he kind of pulls his neck and head forwards and swallows (it sounds like that anyways) and then he coughs too the same way as that cat does... so it can be something stuck in his troath or asthma??
I don't think he is coughing up a hairball. It looks like your cat is "reverse sneezing"...This uncommon but harmless condition may be a cause of alarm because it sounds as though the cat has something caught in an air passage. During an attack the cat violently pulls in air through the nose. This produces a loud snorting noise.
Just a moment ago I thought my cat was going to die :-P Then I thought "uh, maybe it's a hairball?", and I searched it here and it's just the same as your cat does in the video :-P
Ummmm....maybe loosen the cats collar?????

that doesn't look like an airball, mainly, because she pukes not airball at all. Check on asthma... see how it goes.

Doesn't help that the poor kitty has a tight collar.
Poor baby.
Why would someone want to video this? It isn't even educational.
If this cat did not produce a hairball she needs to be seen by a vet.
ASAP.
