One of my favorite parts of playing football games and whatnot at DBHS was the Tuba Dance, or should I say being in it? The last few sets were definitely supposed to be crazy. It was a tradition to do whatever you wanted for that portion.

I still miss it. Unfortunately there's no video on youtube of my year's shows. :(

THOSE AREN'T TUBAS! THEY ARE SOUSAPHONES! its a major pet peeve of mine when people get those mixed up, a tuba is an over sized baritone, a sousaphone goes over your shoulder, if you don't know what a baritone is look it up!

@edude1100 Ok. First of all, I'm in band and I'm pretty sure I know the difference. Second, would you rather say Sousaphone Dance or Tuba Dance? Which one is more catchy? If you have such a pet peeve then exit the video. There's no need to get all worked up.

@edude1100 Ok, first of all. I play the tuba (and the sousaphone.) Whatever, they're PLAYED exactly the same way. And tuba's aren't over sized baritones. A baritone is a completely different instrument. Oh, and by the way, they aren't really baritones, they're euphoniums. So stop trying to seem like a know-it-all and just enjoy the band, ok? They're awesome!. :)

@edude1100 A tuba is not an over sized Baritone. By that logic, every saxaphone is just an oversized version of its predecessor. By your logic a euphonium is a big tenor horn, a baritone a big alto horn, a tuba is a big euphonium.

A mellophone is a big trumpet, bass clarinet is an oversized clarinet.

By your logic only more or less, 6 instruments exist,give or take.only bigger and bigger and bigger.

@edude1100 ok, so if you play tuba in concert band, and you do marching band, then what do they have you play? a sousaphone, thus, the sousaphone is a marching version of a concert tuba. same amount of tubing and brass and all that. i know, cause im a tuba player myself. my high school doesn't have sousas, we have contras. but still, i've played sousaphones before, sound exactly the same as a concert tuba, they are just easier to march with.

@edude1100 Sousaphones are tubas. they are just designed for marching bands. and baritones have a curved bell unlike a tuba. more like an "over sized" euphonium.

@failureofgenerations I admit that swinging around sousaphones are harder but to me it wasn't that enjoyable to watch. When I first saw trombone suicides I was like ohhhhmyyyygoshhhhh @ u @ THAT IS SO COOL! But that's only my opinion.

We're in high school. This was our first performance with trombone suicides with the freshmen. Who just learned it. Our directors don't risk us hurting ourselves and getting in trouble. Lol.

@DaPookieNgo if you dont want to get in trouble and youre a trombone player youre doin something wrong... we go out of our way to get in trouble! from putting m&ms in the DMs hood in a mcdonalds to asking the director if we can wear our birthday suits for the jazz concert... and youll be fine if you get smacked in the face by the instrument... the instrument is what id be worried about...

@justdontask3 We joke around, but responsibly lol :P . Troublemaking but respected trombone section. And if you were the directors, you probably wouldn't want to get sued over somebody hitting someone in the face and having them bleed. If you don't at least listen to your directors when you're standing there in the middle of the football field in front of everybody then... what is the point of being in band? Just form a group and go make trouble :P

the tuba dance is WEAK. There's no real adrenaline, you're swinging instruments that won't even come close to hitting another person.

At least in trombone suicide, there's always a chance of hitting the person next to you. That's real adrenaline.
