hmm, not really as XP is much better then vista, mainly if you can't afford vista or B, you can get vista but can't afford or don't want to upgrade your computer enough that it can run it at a workable speed (I.E. need 2gigs of ram at least, a 2.4 ghz cpu (Specifically a Dual core at the least say...Pentium D might do the job) and a ATI Radeon 9600 or higher (for Aero) as the FX series sucks ass from a straw.

The 360 has Three cores, ATi Xenos which has a first generation Unified Core Architecture with programmable shaders, and it uses a distro of DX9.5E which supports some features of DX10 but isn't actually DX10.

This is where Far Cry 2 is king, it is the best art direction I've ever seen in a video game combined with the most realistic graphics... Crysis is just the prettiest with unrealistic graphics. ^^

Really? Even tho Crysis on Medium doesn't have HDR- It has much higher resolution textures and shaders than Farcry on SuperHigh with everything maxxed due to it being a much newer game. On Medium, Crysis beats out most DX9 titles on High with everything maxed. Your right tho, the only games that may look better than Crysis on Medium would only be the Original FarCry, Doom 3, or Halflife 2. The rest of the DX9 games fall short in comparison when Crysis is the opposition.

What you're saying is that 64-bit programs need both 64-bit OS's and Hardware.

However, by just using the extra content and textures and whathaveyou, 32-bit Far Cry will run with these things enabled.

The thing is, it's not using it all to the full potential.

There's extra taxation on the GPU due to the added content requiring more GPU rendering power instead of the CPU accessing it's wider 64-bit instruction sets.

This is only a completly stupid video. Having a patch that enables a 32 bit game on a 32 bit system is nothing special. The patch only makes the game playable on 64bit systems.

The game was written in 32 bit, if it was written in 64 bits and then you were playing it on the 32 bit machine, it would crash on startup. 64 bit applications can NEVER run on a 32 bit system.

To continue what I was saying, all games rely on FPU (floating point unit) of the CPU for graphics geometry, and physics. The GPU despite what others claim doesn't do all the graphics work by itself. x64 has TWICE the FPU registries a x32 CPU has... and therefore can handle geometry and physics which are beyond a 32-bit CPU's capabilities. It's all architecture, guys. Yeah you can "hack" the patch, but people on forums complain the x64 hack patch makes no difference, or causes errors.

Terracide - I got a GeForce 8800GTX and can run FarCry on 1920x1200 with everything maxed and I even edited the settings for the absolute eye candy I could get at only about 80fps constantly.

Far Cry isn't a heavy game nowadays... if squirell claimed he could run Crysis on those settings then I would tell him he's full of it... but FarCry is piss easy.
