  • Great work, Chris !

  • This is like "The Wave"...

  • CONGRATS!!!

  • ey chris, this way of teaching would be excellent!

  • Amazing! Can't wait to try it!

  • like it nice way to teach

One thing that you need to understand is that what you are seeing is the very basic beginning portion of a lesson. This is an introduction meant for teachers and students as they begin to apply the method. I have been using the method with great success for three years, and my students engage in higher order thinking, and demonstrate deeper understanding of concepts than the students of my colleagues. The students definitely ask questions, and form their own opinions.

  • @NCWBT can

  • I think it is great that you give this information for free.

  • Wow!

I'm so glad I saw this, as I'm starting a new teaching assignment next week after several years away from teaching.

It seems like something that will be fun as well as effective!

  • haha in summer school my teacher used power teaching. it was a great 4 weeks and i miss summer school already :|

  • I tried this for the first time this week. I am amazed by the power of "class" - "yes" It is so simple and yet so powerful.

  • Awesome!

  • I was and CONTINUE to be amazed with the class-yes. Not that it works (my gosh DOES it!), but that I wasted YEARS - and suffered sore throats and laryngitis over and over trying to speak over my classes. Grab attention only of a few, and then lose THOSE while I attempt to get a few more to pay attention.

With class-yes, I can simply say one word and they are right there. EVERY time.

I laugh that sometimes I will say class, look up, and be a bit shocked to see them ready.

    What a relief!

  • I'm going to try this with my senior high school students in Taiwan. It can be hard to get them engaged and participating because they're used to passive rote learning. It's going to be interesting to see if Power teaching could work with Asian students. I don't see why it can't.

  • How well did this work with those age students?

  • Thank you for this video! I love the whole concept of Power Teaching, and this video teaches me how to implement it from the get-go!

  • I also love power teaching! I just took kids on a field trip and it worked great out of the building. The parents seem pretty impressed ...one of them even tried saying "CLASS" on the bus after hearing me do it several times. The kids thought that was pretty funny.

  • I love power teaching! Keep up the good work!
