The assertion that Glenn Miller spoke fluent German is rubbish. According to biographer George T. Simon - who was both a close friend and spent time with the AAF Band - Miller's lines were written out phonetically when he made those BBC propaganda broadcasts. Plus he was being coached in elementary German so he could talk to some of the POWs being housed in England. If he were fluent, why waste all that time and effort?
Bottom line: No German = no negotiating ability = no conspiracy.

I believe his plane went down in the water, but unless we find the plane or what is left of it or some real proof that he lived, we will never know what really happened to Glenn Miller.

Normaly, I don't put much creedence in conspiracies. There is an argument here. An R.A.F Bomber Squadron bringing payload back due to overcast then dropping them in the channel? Churchill fried Dresden just to keep it out of JoJo Stalin's future empire. One tail-gunner who thought he caught a glimpse of the Norseman going down is weak at best. If there exists any proof of the Luftwaffe ambushing that Norseman, as we did Yamomoto with P-38's. This is plausible if Miller was working with the OSS.

That is why departing American missions flew around the east or west side of the nation: the Brits were returning during the morning. The Americans bombed during the day. The Brits bomed at night. There were radio beacons on the east and west sides called Splashers. Splasher Six--on the west side--was perhaps the most famous.
