To prove that it is impossible to solve this was the first problem of the All Soviet Union Mathematical Olympiad 1961. It's not that hard. Notice that when you cross a line you get in or out of a rectangle. Just focus on the 3 big rectangles and notice that you have to get in and out of them a different number of times (because there are 5 line segments in them which is odd) and you'll find it's not possible to get in and out that number of times for the three rectangles.

@Zamweenie Dude, Darth Theous is correct. Take a good look. he took it to mean that one line DOESN'T end at an intersection, so given that idea, he passed through each line once and only once. You may think it is 16 lines, if each line ended at the intersection. He thought it was 8 lines, so it really depends on what your ideal of the rules are, and how many lines you think there really are.

i belive i may have found a simple solution to your problum. you have 8 lines to go threw with a single line. first styart at the botom right hand corner go to the therd box and go down. next circle around the bottom left corner and on the outside of the shape go up to the top left box.go strait threw to the inside of the top right box. go up threw the top box and around the top corner. go down and conect the line.

I already figured it out. Once you cross the first line, ignore the two lines above it. And the one to the left of it, just go straight down and do the path you did. (You should be able to figure out the rest on your own. Too hard to explain)
