You can build you own server class work station with top notch quality parts with proper configurations cheaper than the Mac Pro. Actually if you are a serious computer user, you should always build you own computer for better quality and cheaper price than an OEM.

I always recommend to build your own though IF YOU CAN and if you feel comfortable with doing that. You are misunderstood me. I think you think that I am telling people to just build their own computer, which I am not. I advocate it, but I do not tell it.

Lastly, the precison workstation T3500 is upgradable to 24GB RAM vs the 16GB. Maybe you SHOULD choose a dell gaming box to go up against the Mac Pro. It will make it more fair for the Mac.
