This book was briliantly written and a heartbreaking but beautiful story of human courage and compassion amidst cruelty.
Proof of how high we can rise and how low we can fall. How we ought never to take things for granted and how propaganda can indeed influence the cleverest of minds - because ultimately people choose to believe what they want to.
It is amazing that she had the strength and courage to revisit her past, and tell the story. I'm glad she did. Too many stories never got told.
the Allies tortured the defeated German officers with beatings while they also slammed whiskey down their throats. Then the Allies would drop heavy books from eye level on their prone testicles until the Germans would agree to sponsor the "homicidal gas chambers" hoax. The Allies needed the torture-induced confessions to help them make popular the sustained occupation of Germany and the executions of all the Germans who had to be silenced because they knew way too much about the arch-zionists.
I guess my grandparents' siblings and spouses and parents and nieces and cousins, simply decided to commit mass suicide. I guess my grandfathers' first wife with his three little kids just simply vanished because the Nazis didn't show up with trains and take them to the gas chambers.
Read up on your history, the true history, before coming up with such ridiculous statements.
This is awesome! I read Edith Hahn-Beer's book several years ago, and I still consider it among my favorites. I hear she died a few months ago -- in March, I think. May she rest in peace.

You idiots never read the book or watched the film. That's why you can make ignorant comments implying that her story is fictional.
