  • Hi I totally agree!!! I not yet dx with ms yet in the process, I have never been able to wear high heals or anything with a heal. I have terrible balance and shake. I love my running shoes and live in them. I have a flat pair of sling back sandals that are made of cork nice and light. i use for dress shoes, they are the only shoes I need. !!! I even have a hard time wearing clogs. Love your videos you have done very well. hope your keeping well. cheers.

  • @zinnia231 Thank you so much! I'm so glad you found shoes that work for you!

  • I have always worn trainers :)

  • @nicolahawkinsyoutful They're great, aren't they?

  • Lauren, I just got diagnosed and I am entering my senior year of college and you are an inspiration. You have a beautiful smile as well as a beautiful outlook on life.

  • hi lauren, i love my wife and i dont care what kind of shoes is on her feet. with her ms she cant wear flip flops that she loves to wear but she wears them everyday her right foot has a bad drop depending on the day and how she is feeling. so its real agravitiing watching her toes come out the flip flop and when she walking across the street they sometimes fall off in the middle of the street so i gotta help her put the flip flop on and i tell her to put shoes on but shes determain to wear them

  • Hey Angelo! Aww you are so sweet to say that about your wife!

  • Love this, I am always joking that I have become a woman in comfortable shoes :-D I wear tennis shoes when I have to but hate the feeling of the socks. I am a sandal gal open toe and easy peasy!

  • I love sandals too!

  • Hey lady! I am liking your videos and hope you keep doing more of them. I am currently doing a research on MS with couple of doctors.. I am just 20 and like to help youngs like you. Just stay strong and keep making your videos.

  • Thank you so much!! I'll have a new video soon! I think it's awesome that you're doing research with doctors. Good luck and keep me posted!

  • i just found your videos today and i went through all of them. my mother has MS and i am 16 so i'm not 100% sure about everything with her type. Since this is the last video you have put up ill put a comment here regarding all your videos. you should be so proud of yourself. I got very emotional watching many of your videos. i was never aware that MS was so difficult, i think i just never payed attention to my mothers because thats how she has always been. thank you, your such a beautiful person

  • Thank you so much for writing! You are very mature for a 16 year old. Please write to me anytime if you have questions, and I wish you and your Mom the best!

  • You are welcome;!

As liberated women not M.S patients, we should be advocates of decent footware for women that allow them to walk, dance,, run and be as agile as possible , don't you think? not easy to catch sex objects :-)real men would agree too !!

  • I agree with you so much!

  • M.S or not walking in super high heels is bad for anyboday, feet knees and back ask physios!! and grace is not only in ones gate it is moslty oin ones voice and smile and you have those dear Lauren thanks for sharing this ! Stay well

  • Thank you so much! That makes me feel so much better :)

  • how ya doing lauren!!

    Im doing great...

The only shoes I could ware for the longest time were crocs.

Now I have a really nice pair of nikes, that are working okay with my neuropathy so far.

But as soon as it gets cold out ill have to go back to crocs..

    hugs,

    aly

  • Hey Aly! I hear ya - crocs and nikes are the best. The most important thing is to be comfortable. I'm so glad you're doing great!

  • Hello Lauren, I have been spending my morning with you on youtube, and really have been encouraged by you. Your a good influence on me since I to am a positive person but lately I have to force myself to speak ( Ask anyone who knows me it's usually hard to shut me up (LOL). I have had Ms for 8 years and went un treated until this past November 13 ,2008. Avonex is not working for me and I am about to start Tysabri. I want to help people like you deal with this disease, hopefully .

    St. Louis

  • Thank you so much for your message! I wish you the very best with Tysabri. Please keep in touch!

  • I already had big feet before MS, I started as an adult with size 11 (12 US), then I gained weight and my size went up to 12 (13 US) and then my lack of walking made my feet swell to a clown-like 13 (14 US). I hate my clown's feet and am going to talk to my doctor about a drug solution to the swelling problem.

  • Oh gosh, I hope your doctor can help with the swelling. All I know is that being comfortable is the most important thing - I think about the future too, and if I take care of my feet now, it will only help me in the future. I wish you the very best!

  • My brothers wife has a lot of shoes so I kid her by calling her Mrs.Marcos. As in Imelda Marcos of the Philippines who had like 25,000 pairs of shoes. lol. :-P

  • I found my box of boots when I moved and I opened the box and said I've missed you. I then sat on the couch and put on a pair and remembered my days of dancing in them for hours. I tell people in my head I wear 3" heels but I fall in sneakers! Thanks for the video!!

  • Thank you for writing! I can totally relate!

  • A tall girl like you doesn't need heels anyway. :-P

  • Thanks :)

  • I just wanted to say as a man I like high heels but It is not really that important. My ex has flat feet and she is the mother of my only child. I have MS too and I don't even walk that much anymore so I would hope that people wern't that shallow

  • I totally agree - I hope you are feeling well!

  • "My boyfriend doesn't really look at my feet". Haha! Nice comeback!

I love my Uggs and my Birkenstocks. I'm totally anti-heel. :)

  • Haha thanks Laura :) Oh I am so anti-heel...I love Uggs and Birkenstocks!

  • Indeed! People think I'm silly walking around in June with my Uggs on. :D They're so comfy! :)

  • hi lauren i was just wondering if you had this problem or if anyone else did. sometimes when im around people with different accents i mimic the accent before i realize what i just did. i feel like a nut, cuz they look at me all cross eyed like im making fun of them and im like i didnt mean to. just wondering if anyone else does this

  • me friend does that ALL the time, people think he is being sarcastic but he isnt !! one time he asked for "zee bill" in a fench cafe :D lol

  • That is hilarious!

  • I definitely mimic accents! It happens naturally - I know I don't consciously try to do it, but it just happens.

  • i laughed out loud at your response to the other woman and "what" it is that your Bfriend is looking at!!!! So funny.

i hope that where your going is going to be fun and relaxing (even if your working) havve a great time away and we all will be looking for your next video

  • Hahahah...my boyfriend is looking at my eyes of course! :) I had a wonderful time on my trip but it is so nice to be home! It was great hearing from you!

  • Lauren, I cannot allow this! Though the brown sandal was cute. we are going to have to have a chat about heels one day. I cannot allow you to own so many flats.

    Big hug,

    Marlo

  • Hi Marlo! Haha I've tried wearing heals before, even flat ones, and I can't wear them for very long - but I would LOVE to go shopping with you and Angela!

  • Dear Lauren,

as you know, I can't wear stiletto either and I couldn't do it even before I got MS!! :)

Now, I have to wear sneakers and what I call Hamburger shoes...

I so wish I could wear the very pretty shoes that you wear! I love those!!!!

I should look for the second pair of shoes that you show us because they look like I might be able to walk with them too...It's always good to try, right?!

I am just happy that I can walk!!!

Have a good trip, dear Lauren and take care!

    Baci,

    Angela

  • Angela! No more talk between you about all these sneakers and flats! Go on, try the little heels at least. I know you will....All the Italian shoes you are missing! No, I have to have a talk with both of you.

    Marlo

    xx

  • Oh, Margo! Please, come and save me then!!!

My left foot and ankle are not working normally any more and I can't wear anything that doesn't give me strong support!

Believe me, everyone in Italy is so sorry for me!!! :)

But I just keep on smiling and I am very happy that I can still walk! I have to admit that I wouldn't mind you going shopping with you one day!

Who knows...maybe, you can find me something better to wear than the Hamburger shoes!!!

I hope you are doing well!

    Hugs,

    Angela

  • Angela, you are awesome! and you are right, you should be happy that you are walking. I should be happy that I am walking too.

But we will shop together one day! In Milano, naturalmente.

    Ciao for now!

    xx

  • Hi Angela!! Hahah hamburger shoes that is so funny! I feel the same way...I just feel blessed that I can walk! I hope you are doing well!! Ciao :) Lauren

  • Welcome back! We missed you! :)

    Baci,

    Angela

  • Thank you Angela! You are so sweet!

  • another reason why i'm glad i'm a man

  • Hahaha - you're so right!

  • Great to see you in good spirits. Great video! I live in gym/walking shoes myself- LOL. Take care, Bill

  • Thank you Bill! Those shoes are the best!!

  • This is a useful video.I have MS as well and don't care for heels at all, BUT, I wear wedged heels almost all the time. My balance is off at times, and I get WAY more support with wedged heels unlike stick heels that have little to no support. I see women in them that often look extremely uncomfortable in regular heels, I say women go for wedges, they're sexy!! Here are some examples :

The links will be in the comment below or on top of this one:

  • Thank you! I wear wedges too! I agree, a lot of women look uncomfortable in feels and they complain about them being uncomfortable. Wedges are sexy - I agree!

  • thank God! Liz, a young, yet wise voice of reason! If you are not wearing heels, wedges, are the way to go! they look awesome and elongate the leg. They are comfortable. For God's sake, they are like sneakers. There is so little incline. Nice one, Liz.

  • jeez you look extra cute today! :)

  • Oh thank you so much!

  • I were mostly flats too! I did it way b4 I knew I had MS -- just my preference -- but you showed some pretty cute shoes!

  • I did too - I always wore flats...before and after MS. Thank you!

  • Good informative video. I am a male so I only have 1 pair and they are flat.

  • Hahah thank you! l I'm glad you have flat shoes!

  • By the way lauren, I love your top. Where did you buy it?

  • Thank you! I actually bought it in Hershey Pennsylvania - hence the hershey kiss instead of an "O"!!

  • Ok here's a male perspective heheh .... i fully recognise this is NOT my specialist subject, just would like to say i agree with your boyfriend Anthony 100%, if i had a girlfriend tht looked like you Lauren, your feet would NOT be where i was looking ;) ;) in fact i don't think i ever look at anyones shoes ! as long as you feel good thats all that matters. Looking as gorgeous as ever Lauren, take care hunny xx Tony

  • Hi Tony! Oh my gosh you are SO SWEET! Thank you so much for your kind comment! I hope you are doing well!

    xoxo

    Lauren :)

  • Hi Lauren

I mainly use soft (low) shoes

I like the flat one which I can bend it with my hands >>>

I think the white one is the best

    Regards

    Mody :)

  • Hi Mody! I agree with you - I like soft flat shoes the best :)

    I hope you are well!

  • I had MS for 16 years and wear stilletos still. But 2 years ago I was wearing a 4 inch wedge and fell on my butt in the middle of a grocery store. lol Not fun believe me. people were looking at me trying to help. I wasnt so embaressed as I was stunned that I just fell without a warning. Very scary

  • It's cool that you can wear stilletos! Oh gosh, I'm sorry that you fell in the grocery store. I've fallen without warning before too...it sucks.
