I don't know what's funnier. Billy or my channel full of Starbucks funny videos....Actually this joke of a human being is waayyyyyyyyyy funnier! What a waste of life!
The critical mass gatherings are like minded people who would like to ride the streets without fearing getting hit by a car. It does not achieve anything. I remember seeing them in Seattle. It's a automobile dominent/tyranical place we live in America. The automobiles have the freedoms, not the people who are slaved to, owned by living arrangement circumstances. Folks in cars don't want to be annoyed...rightly so. Seattle is very pleasant t ride a bicycle in :-)

This was Rev Billy's Press Conference immediately after getting out of jail for reciting the 1st amendment of the US constitution to cops who were violating that amendment... it's not entirely meant to be funny.. that's just his schtick... he's dead serious about the meaning of his words.
There are instances where you can choose let your rights be violated by the "authorities" or not... usually a fear based decision.
I participate in mass bike rides in LA all the time (Midnight Ridazz etc.). I don't see how 1000 cars on the road is not a problem but when 1000 bikes just happen to be on the road all of a sudden we're all anarchists that need to be tazed.

haha...While these guys look and sound like complete psychos, this is actually a good demonstration. What I can't stand is the Critical Mass bike ride. Don't block the street. You can stand in the park and scream like weirdos while everyone else is at work, but don't get in my way. Your free speech ends where my nose begins.
Not that I can limit your speech...people mix up the freedom of speech w/ the repercussions of free speech. You can't scream fire in a crowded theater. Just like that, if thousands of bikes decide to peaceful protest in Manhattan and block already congested traffic, that is no longer a peaceful protest. I'm all for free speech Mindy, just not when you affect people who don't want to be involved.
I know. I'm an avid cyclist. One of my most prized possessions is my Giant TCR Alliance. I train heavily in the park and on the street. I agree that people AND the gov need to increase their support for bikes. These critical mass bike rides blocked public buses and needlessly added traffic problems to a city who constantly battles these issues. It even pissed ME off and I am FOR added bike lanes and awareness. Your Youtube name is KILLxCOPS? That seems a little messed up dude.
Rev Billy was upset about cops stopping the Critical Mass bike ride. But think about it from the other side. The city is constantly trying to aid traffic flow in Manhattan. Now you've got thousands of bikes riding down 5th ave advocating bike awareness but as they travel in a mob, they run red lights and cause automobile traffic to back up. The city gov may be overstepping their boundaries but people should do something stupid and ask to get slapped in the face.
A) you don't speak for Billy, there's a lot more to it than your representation
B) Bikes are traffic, thousands of bikes take far less room than thousands of cars.
C) If a car runs a red light they get a ticket (maybe) If a bike runs a red light in NYC on any day other than Critical Mass NOTHING happens. If a bike runs a red light during critical mass they GO TO JAIL...
EVERY LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH AT 7PM
the traffic goes no slower than any other Friday at 7
The city doesn't aid the flow of traffic. I was in Manhattan yesterday and at every turn there were cars that blocked the box and stopped everything. Bad enforcement.
As I went over the 59 I made a few movies of the traffic at 60, 61 & 62 and York.
At 61 they had a TEA where the FDR exits to the street, but none at 60 so the cars did what they wanted.
I made a movie of the ambulance on the wrong side for 5 blocks and got caught up at 61 because no one directing traffic. Shameful!
@RadioReporter01: You do not sound like a tough grizzled old soldier but some kind of dandified Nancy boy, who is afraid of wars! You are indubitably no sea-dog but the sort of pasty landlubber I have always despised. I'll warrant, the most exciting thing that has happened to you limpid prawn in a whole year, was the day when you forgot to put sugar in your porridge!
Th US is fortunate to have a bill of rights they can lay claim to,th Brit Govrnmnt has been copycattin ur current gov's policies and two hippy chiks were arrested in a park near London Parliament for havin iceing on some little cakes in th shape of a C.N.D. symbol.
They weren't even protestin, they just thought it looked cool.
i agree even here in the uk it is time for revolution,"give me liberty or give me death",doing nothing in a time of repressive violence is itself a form of violence,if you allow ur country to invade and murder people and you dont do anything about it ,thats violence, bring the war home this is a call to arms
I admire your attitude, however, if you seek only to impress your ideas and beliefs upon other people and immediately (without consideration) reject their ideas and opinions as being flawed or wrong, then you will only make enemys and start conflicts (conflicts being the oposition of two opinions, not a violent interaction). That's the last thing this world needs - another conflict.
That's certainly not communism that you describe. I think you mean to say that there is effectively no "two party system". It's all a big distraction from the obvious truth that we live under a corporatocracy to quote Joel Bakan... Check out the book/movie "The Corporation"... the whole thing is on youtube.
The peace? You're disturbing my peaceful reading of these comments. I might never know peace again. Probably not, now that I know there is a person somewhere who actually believes yelling is a crime. Nope. No peace for me.
Lieberman says we should give up our 4th and 1st ammendment rights, he must know what he's talking about. If he says so, then we should just give up our rights.
Are you serious?! My god, you can't trust someone about your living rights just because of their past actions - you need to have a thorough understanding on the issue and how the situation can be manipulated by people in power who have something to gain from manipulating it.

Actually, Bicyclist have just as much right to use the street as cars do. Also, in some areas, you can be ticketed for even riding on the sidewalks.
Making you late for work because bicyclist are communting is not illegal.
furthermore, the comment about free speech ending where my nose begins refers to assult.
you can preach all you want, but when you hit someone, youre expression isn't free anymore.
duh.

A)Of course I don't speak for Billy. I'm against him.
B)Yes, but thousands of bikes going nowhere together takes up room needlessly while cars are usually going somewhere
C)Because they are trying to discourage this demonstration. If they ticketed a delivery boy who accidentally ran one, that'd be messed up.
You obviously have never been in the middle of one of these things.
