  • Thanks for the great video...it worked perfectly.

  • My fiance and I were sad to learn that Roger passed. Stacy, thanks to you and Roger for sharing this video. It was SO helpful!

  • Thanks SpeakerTweaker! You just saved me a few hundred dollars. There was actually a baby wash towel stuck in the pipe from the pump to the drain catch so make sure to check in there if you hear just your drain pump making a humming sound! Thanks again SpeakerTweaker!

  • Had the same problem. Intermittently it would not spin. I was about to look at replacing the washer (didn't seem worth it to fix, would rather have a new one). Then I googled and found this video. Wow ! It worked. The drain was clogged with a small sock, coins etc. Cleaned it out and it works fine ! Thanks Roger ! You saved me a ton of money, not to mention the headache.

  • ROGER....YOU ARE THE BOMB!!! THANK YOU AND YOUR WIFE SO MUCH FOR TAKEN THE TIME TO DO THIS KOOL VIDEO!!! THANKS AGAIN...SURFER DAVE

  • Roger, thanks for showing this video it saved us 200 dollars in repairman. My husband saw this video and was able to fix our washer....He couldn't be happier and now he is taking me out for dinner.

  • Thank you Roger(RIP) for sharing this video, we just fixed our washing machine, we found change and a bobby pin. Thanks Stacy for sharing this video, much appreciated.

  • You rock ! we followed your instructions and found 35 cents, a sock and cat hair. The sock actually stopped it from draining. After cleaning it out it works great ! Thank god who knows how much it would have cost to have someone do it for us. Thank you very much.

  • SpeakerTweaker, thanks for the video. Saved me "not sure hoe much $ in a service call", found infant sock, hair clip 3 pennies and lego and a lotof grey mush.

  • got you all beat.... 1-thong 5- quarters 2- dimes 1- penney 1- ear plug 2- pieces of fabric i have know idea of what and 1 big clump of somethin that looked like a hedgehog.... thanks for video

  • Thank you so much, I had the problem about a year ago and it cost me about $220 to have a service call, they said I had a bad sensor (BS)

I got the error again (F21) yesterday, this time Google to the rescue and found your video :)

I read all the comments, I'm sorry to hear about Rodger, in a way I feel he has made a lasting impression in many lives with these videos, I know I can't thank you enough for keeping this video up.

    Thank you, Thank you.

    Aharon

  • Great Video- just fixed my washing machine- I had $1.02 in misc. change; literally the whole filter was full of coins. Now I can buy a Dr. Pepper for a job well done instead of paying the serviceman to come and charge a minor fortune for his service.

  • Thanks for this video this fixed my washer like brand new, it was awesome, and as a female doing it all by herself it was way to easy to believe I did it thanks so much... and God bless you and your family, also heard the news, We are so sorry jus know I believe he full filled his purpose in life, more ways then once, Just to let you know this youtube, must been one of his purposes sounds like he really help a lot of people including me, saved me a few 100.00 dollars by fixing my washer,,,

  • We found this video today and fixed the washer. Thank you so much. We are sincerely sorry for your loss. I am sure you miss his wonderful sense of humor! You were a lucky lady.

  • Thanks for this video! This helped get our washer operational again. Although not much poured out (in terms of large objects) when I removed the drain cover, the opening in the right had a large hair/lint ball that stopped the rotary thing from moving. After pulling it out with tweezers, the machine can drain!

  • Thank you so much Rodger for posting this! I fixed my washer all by myself thanks to you!!! I live with my two teens girls, who create lots of laundry, and to have the washer acting up is not good! I opened up the drain and discovered it was full of all sorts of things...coins, plastic dental flossers, a barrette, bobby pin, hair tie, even a bra liner from my daughter's bikini!!! All is good now! Thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks! Fixed mine as well. A quarter was in the trap and that must have fouled it all up. Back up and running!

  • it is GREAT that you did this! We are having this issue with our duet. we will give it a try. Wish us luck! THANK you!!!

  • Thank You SO Much. Husband is gone and just fixed my Mom's washer on a Sunday....no repair guy and no service charge. Just the ticket!

  • Thank you! Just fixed my washer! Very generous of you to take the time to post this.

  • Thanks for this video! Helped me tremendously!

  • Thank you soooo much!! First 4 minutes gave me all I needed to fix the issue we've been dealing with for a week :)

  • Thanks sooo much!! After a weekend of car problems, snow blower problems and mail box hit by plow, woke up to a issue on washer, you helped so much! Thanks for taking the time to post this!!

  • Great tutorial. I had my sister do a "favor" for me when she was visiting and washed my bath rugs on a regular cycle. Between the heat of the water and the spin cycle, it disintegrated the rubber backing and pretty much shredded the rugs.. I thought for sure the pump was shot. After taking apart the front panel and checking the filter, it was filled with bits of the rubber backing. Thanks for the help!

  • just want u to know it worked found money lint tweezers and god bless rodger too

  • Thank you again everyone, for all the comments. I don't come here often but sometimes I get an e-mail that some one has posted a comment and so I look. Rodger would be SO pleased that this is helping anybody. I'm always amazed at seeing the stuff everybody gets out of their washers!! How does it get in there?!?! Still miss him incredibly, he was a delightful man.

  • @excursivey What happened? I see that Rodger posted something about a brain tumor. Is he gone now? So sad if so. He helped me fix my washer. Seemed like a fun, nice guy!

  • So sorry to hear about the passing of Roger. My sincere condolences...

  • @jchez1965 Thank you very much. Yes, he was a very good man and a very good husband. I miss him every day. It's always a pleasure to get these comments and see that a few people get some good out of his videos.

  • thanks for this, hopefully it works now!

  • Thank you Rodger! I found a bunch of things in my filter - a sock, a bunch of money, some wire nuts, a stylus... I am running a test cycle now. Hopefully that did the trick!

Stacey, So sorry for your loss. Rodger is still helping people. Thank you!

  • Worked great- no money, just a furball the size of a hamster! RIP Rodger and may God Bless you Stacy

  • Happy wife, happy life!!

  • i watch this video was having problems...now its working like a champ...bless u..

  • Thanks, this video was so helpful I sent her the link to this video and she was so eager to get the darn washer fixed she did it herself!! Woooohooo!

  • I just saw that some time ago Rodger passed away to a better place. I'm so happy that he was able to help me and so many others still. He seemed to be a great guy in the video.

  • My Duet washer was slow draining. We have a baby in the house. When I took the filter off, I found 5 baby socks, 1 dime, 1 quarter, a nickle, and a name badge from step daughters workplace. I can't believe it even drained slow!!

  • this video saved us big time--would never have known how to fix the drain problem. So sorry to hear of Roger's passing--it is very neat that he is able to still help mechanically challenged folks like myself and my husband. Thank you soooo much.

  • My dad is out of town & our machine had the code f21. my mom and I watched your video to fix our machine. just saying we didn't even know what screw driver thing to use! now it's all fixed and it is working again as of about 5 mins ago, so THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, because we couldn't have done it without your video. there was a couple of pencils and lint clogging it up.

  • @nailsandstuff1 This really helped me. I was just about ready to call the repairman and this saved me $200. I pulled out about $2 in change, 4 pencils 3 pens, 2 golf tees, a sock and a huge wad of lent. She is punping like a champ now. Thank you!!!

  • Dude - Clearly you are not an amature husband: You asked if the towels were the right ones. :-) Thanks for the post!

  • @Sarakahn I love this comment. He was certainly on his way to being a professional husband. :-)

  • This worked like a charm. My husband & had the exact same problem and fixed it in 30 minutes thanks to your video. Change & paperclips were the problem. Thanks so much for this video. You saved us beaucoup money I am sure. :-)

  • A Big Thank you and Thanks so much for sharing! Sure enough there was a sock. I almost scheduled an appointment with Whirlpool, but changed my mind after seeing this very detailed video. Glad to report a successful completion of a wash cycle. Feel a little better about Washing machine. So sorry for your loss.

  • Hi Stacy,We had a drain error on our Duet washer today. I would have probably called a repairman to come out but I found Rogers video. I followed Rogers instructions and sure enough found 2 babies cloths completely clogging the filter. Roger saved the day for us! I was so excited and grateful I came back to write a comment saying I owed him a beer. Thats when I saw your post of Rogers passing. I am so sorry to hear that. Our thoughts are with you and your family. What a great guy!

  • This worked perfectly. We had a code 21 and called the dealer to ask them what to do. Before scheduling service, we looked on YouTube for some help. We could not believe what we found in our filter: 2 bobby pins, 2 coins, 1 candy wrapper, lots of lint and a small toy. You just saved us about $200. God bless and thank you so much for sharing this.

  • WOW this video also helped me i had 3 dress socks some change and some hair she was packed tight! i thank your husband so much! sorry to hear about his passing.

  • Extremely helpful!!! thanks!! This is a big day in our house. For the record, I found an Ice cream spoon, wad o' lint, store key chain card, paper clip, 4 bobby pins, paperclip, 6 rocks, 3 beads, 1 penny with significant corrosion, 2 pesos, 2 dimes, 2 twist ties, couple of pieces of opal and a Victoria's Secret logo.

    Not too shabby.

  • Thanks for sharing, this helped fix my duet also. My code was F02 and the pump was in the center of the machine.

  • My husband just fixed our whirpool.Much appreciated you saved our family $300.00.Condolences and God bless.

  • Stacy, my wife and I just easily fixed our washer after watching Roger's video. Without Roger's video we would have had no idea at all how to fix it on our own. As we came back on line to post a thank you we read of Roger's passing a year ago. We are very very sorry. Jerry & Liz

  • Dude, this rocked. I pulled the trap on my Sport Duet and it was loaded with change and muck. Dang did it stink. The pump is still has a rattle to it but it is draining. I have an extended warranty so I will still have the repair man come out. I have a family of 10 so we cant go with out a washing machine. Thanks again. Oh this was very enjoyable to watch also.

  • Thank you very much for this video. You helped save me a lot of money, this really solved my problem.

  • Thanks! Great video and it did the trick

  • Thanks a ton for the help, My mother "hired me" to fix the washer, and this did the trick (and I got a $7.50 tip out of the washer... also a bullet). Personable and easy to follow video.

  • Stacy, I'm sorry for your loss your in my prayers.amazing it worked Thank you Stacy for keeping this and Thank you Rodger for your video it saved me from getting jacked up by a repairman. I fixed it myself in under a half an hour.

  • This was wonderful! Thaank you Thank You...

I had a sock blocking my drain. WoW

    You Rock!!!!

  • It worked perfectly. And I really did enjoy the video.

  • The best thing you can do for you frontload washer is to have it serviced once a year. Jackson Appliance Repair Orlando. com will come out and clean your pump for only 69.00. call today for service today 407-385-3662 Orlando / Apopka Florida

  • Thanks to you and your video I was able to remove 3 "Bobbie-Pins" from my pump that was keeping my new washer from draining. My Fiance decided she was going to wash everything in the house and ended up giving me a project to do when I got home from work. Thanks again!

  • GREAT video. Even more so because of the circumstances with Rodger. He just helped me save money today! The white "screen / strainer" was empty when I pulled it apart, but when I reached my finger in to the hole to the pump, I found a balled up stocking. It's a sock made of the same material as womens leggings or whatever. Had it blocked solid! So remember, check those other holes for blockages too! Thanks Rodger! RIP buddy.

  • I just had to come back on this site and say THANK YOU!!! I just had my washer stop working and thought I would check online and see if I could find a quick fix. After watching this video.... I went and did the same thing seen here and within minutes ..voila!!! My washer is back in action! My husband was going to call a repair man, (NEXT WEEK) Thank goodness I am a strong believer of never give up!!! If there is a will there is a way! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This was very helpful!!!

  • I had a look at your husbands video, and that led me to discover three baby socks i n the filter. I'm so sorry for your loss. Roger lives on, helping people like myself.

    Roger R.I.P

  • Man, this video helped me big time. No drain, leads to big pain (in the wallet) if you don't fix it. I did exactly what you did and viola (that's French for "there it is!) I appreciate the help as I am not the "handyman" that I wish that I was.

  • Stacy, thank you so much for keeping these videos online. I found Rodger's video as I've been trying to troubleshoot my Whirlpool Duet washer. I'll be draining the drum at the drain pump as I am pretty certain the pump is clogged. Rodger's video was informative and funny (love how he asks you if it's okay to use the towels). Thank you again Stacy, I'm sorry for your loss. RIP Rodger.

  • Thanks for the video and the great help. So sorry to hear of your loss. I don't understand how, but mine was clogged by a sock! Also figured out that using a wet vac to suck the water up as it comes out helps reduce the mess. Thanks for posting this - you saved me a big headache.

  • Thanks Rodger! I hope you went to a place where washers don't break.

  • My washer was working fine, but I remember my dad checking the trap out 2 years ago and I figured that it should be checked again before it stopped working. Remembered how to take the front panel off, but couldn't remember how to open the trap. I have a kenmore HE washer that looks almost identical to the one in this video when it's opened up. Sooooo I opened mine up, thanks to this helpful video, and lo and behold, I found a 10k diamond ring! Also two pennies, two guitar picks and a bunch of l

  • Thank you SO much! I was trying to help my mother unclog our washing machine and she was about to call the company, they were charging well over $300, so we did what you said and TADA!

  • This worked like a charm. Thank you so much for sharing this solution with others. It sure makes life easier (and cheaper!). So sorry for your loss.

  • Been trying to figure out this problem all day with my washer. Great video!

I am so sorry for your loss. RIP - Rodger. =(

  • thanks for the info,,, especially the three screws, and cleaning the drain out. A sock and a few coins were found. riCk

  • Thanks for the video! :)

  • r.i.p rodger ..your help is appreciated even now that you're gone you are still helping people with this video ..i encountered this problem today and fixed the no draining issue ...stacy you're husband is awesome

  • Thanks!!! Great video, easily and quickly found the drain plug -- removed a sock and some other stuff. Saved me at least $200 on a repair call.

  • Stacy - this video is incredibly helpful. We have the exact same problem & there are a bunch of videos that try to show the solution, but Rodger's is BY FAR the best (and the most enjoyable to watch). Rodger is the only one (that we could find) who shows what you need to remove the front panel and how to do it - that's the part that kept tripping us up. So Rodger singlehandedly saved us hundreds of dollars. We got so sad to learn about his passing. Just know that you two are in our thoughts.

  • Wow. I am sad to hear about that also. He helped me fix my washer. My husband will be so happy I didn't have to call the repairman. It was exactly as he showed me. Thanks so much to him. Helping even after he is gone. So sorry.

  • I am so sad to hear about Rodger - helped me too

  • Rogers spirit lives on. He helped my husband and I fix our duet. Found three of our children's socks. Thank you, Roger!

  • I'd like to thank Rodger's wife Stacy for allowing this video to continue to help others with the repair and saving $! I'd also like to thank Roger (RIP)...looking down smiling at these beautiful comments. My daughter, 17 and I fixed our washer while my husband was watching a fight on tv! I'm usually the fix it mother, so I didn't mind. It saved us $160.00 just to get someone to come to our home and additional fees! Thanks again and God Bless! =)

  • thank you for this very helpful video Rodger. May you rest is peace!

  • Hi Roger, I thank you for wanting to help others. Hope you are having a great time where ever you are. The video was very helpfull. It's just amazing that a person like "Roger" wants to help people and make life easier for them and some other people like the "makers of this washer" try to make your life complicated and try to make money through unneeded service calls. By the way nice job hiding the error code papers behind the cover so one won't be able to solve the problem. Shame on U

  • Thank you! This was incredibly helpful. I am so sorry to hear about your loss and I can only imagine that he was always trying to help other people out.

  • Great video. Thanks

  • I was trying to find out how to clean the filter on my washer and came across this video. I did what Rodger said to do and am awaiting the results. When I came back to the computer, I decided to read the comments and saw where Rodger had passed away. I wish I could thank him in person, Stacy. You will be in my prayers.

  • thanks, this video just saved me a service call. There was so much junk in mine including a pen cap. lol. Thanks again

  • Thank you Rodger and Stacy. My washer is working again and with less stink.

  • Thanks so much Stacy for sharing your hubby! His spirit was with me today, helping me fix my washer. I was so excited not to have to call a repairman. So sorry to hear about him.

  • Thank you! Wow - how perfect. I had done some research on line & figured it was the drain filter, but when I got the cover off, I wasn't sure what to do next...This video made the job soooo much easier.

The Whirlpool repair guys are going to be out of business soon thanks to guys like Roger & YouTube.

And when I came to post this comment, and realized that Roger had passed on, I just had to send my sincere gratitude and let you know, Stacy, that Roger's still out there touching all of us! TKU

  • Thank you!

  • This video just saved us from calling a repair man; ended up being exactly what the problem was.

  • Thanks Rodger, took me about 15 minutes. You need to get a production crew. Your wife perhaps????

  • Thanks Rodger, it took me 30 minutes after watching your video.

Wherever you are now, folks around you must feel very happy of having you there

  • Thanks for the video. We followed what you did and got the machine working again, only to have it stop working half way through the next load. Anyone else have this? Any suggestions?

  • This video is great. We did this and we were able to get the spin cycle working. We began a new load and it got stuck again. (Our trap had some lint in it, but not a lot of stuff.) I'd love to know if anyone else did this, got it to work for a little bit then had it stop working again? I"m not sure what to do next.

  • dude, I just did the same thing you did, it friggin draining heheh old dude is not too bad... found a big friggin wet fir ball

  • Thank God for Rodger's video. I would not have known where to start on how to fix my washing machine, but because of his video, it took me about 15 minutes (including draining the water) to repair my machine. You saved me a couple hundred dollars Rodger. RIP and THANK YOU!!!!!!!

I'm sure he has helped many people and he keeps helping them.

  • Thank God for your video. I would not have known where to start on how to fix my washing machine, but because of your video, it took me about 15 minutes (including draining the water) to repair my machine. You saved me a couple hundred dollars. THANK YOU!!!!!!!

  • Stacy and @turtletatty I'm so sorry to hear the news. Roger had to be a great person. Roger thank you so very much!!!!!

  • This is Rodger's wife Stacy - I just want to thank you all again for all the very lovely comments. abaker0079, yes it is very gratifying to see these. He was such a great guy and I miss him terribly but it's nice knowing that he kind of lives on this way.

  • @SpeakerTweaker

Hi Stacy. I am so sorry for your loss. Roger looks (and sounds) like he was a one in a million type of guy. Too bad we can't search for the cure for cancer on YouTube like we can search for a way to fix our washing machine. I hope it helps to be able to hear his wonderful voice!

  • @SpeakerTweaker-- I wanted to say sorry for your loss but i was having problems with our washer and after researching and watching this I went and checked it out and needless to say it was completely packed with junk. I cleaned it out and it started working fine. Thank you so much for posting this and showing us dumbies how to do this and for saving us some money on a repair bill.

  • @SpeakerTweaker Stacy, thanks for keeping the video going. I helped me today and I pulled 2 socks out of the drain. Rodger saved me a bundle in repairs i'm sure. I'm so sorry for your loss. Rodger must have been quite a handy man. R.I.P. Rodger!

  • good video,, my friend if you tilt that washer back you dont have to deal with all that water and you have better acces to those screws at the bottom and if you need to rplace that pump the screws are under the pump so you still have to tilt the washer

  • good video,, my friend if you tilt that washer back you dont have to deal with all that water and you have better acces to those screws at the bottom

  • Sorry to hear about Roger. But I think it does you all some good knowing that he is still able to help others in need. My washer wasnt draining. and his video helped fix my washer. thanks, Roger

  • Thank you for posting this, we just had our whirlpool washer fixed, when it died again. I was about to cry (after waiting months to get the right part to fox it in the first place), when I decided to come one youtube and see what it could be. I watched this video and did the same thing and voila! It is running again! Thank you so very much, you saved me lots of time, and money.

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU ROGER!!!!! May you rest in peace. I am sure you are missed. My loot was just a NASTY ball of lint, a twig and a rock. I am so grateful for this video!

  • Thank you SO MUCH!!! I am a single mother who has been laid off for almost a year. I called the service center and asked what F21 meant, and they said they did not know. So I scheduled an appointment, but gave it a shot myself. I just canceled my appointment.

These guys are crooks, engineering it so repairs are excessively cumbersome (need extension for ratchet, without a drain pan, or special drain hose, water goes everywhere... I would not buy another one.

    Thank you again! :)

  • Thank you so much. My haul: usb key drive, 4 quarters, 9 dimes, 3 nickels, 9 pennies, a necklace, 2 nails, a baby sock and a huge rancid ball of lint. Yucky! I love youtube.

  • You are amazing!!! Thank you so much for this tip. Our's was FULL of dog hair. OMGosh... I just read that Roger has passed. I'm so sad...what a wonderful guy, and he seems like such a neat person. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

  • Just wanted to add my name to the list of husbands that Rodger has helped out! I found a key that's been missing for years, as well as a little spare change. My wife (also named Stacy) sure appreciated Rodger's video, and his humor (checking on the towels). I'm sure he is missed, but hopefully his family knows he is being appreciated by people all over :)

  • I had a 'Color Catcher' sheet stuck in my pump.

The sheet was beyond the debris - wrapped around the pumps propeller.

It probaly was not only block the drain - but also snagged the propeller.

This was tricky to remove as I did not want it to rip and be left in a place where I could not reach it. Luckily, I had enough of an angle to get a tweezers in the opening and extract the sheet.

You saved me a service call. My washer is 16 months old (4 months out of warranty - isn't that always the way!)

  • This worked as advertised. I didn't listen to the audio, so when the water spilled out, it spilled out and spread all along the bottom plate of the washer, and then out the sides through opennings. So I suggest that you put a pretty thick towel right under the openning. My thanks to the author.

  • you and your friend (rip) are awesome ! I feel soo good, me myself just fixed my washer due to you guys ! when my husband could'nt.... THANK YOU also saved me that service call...

  • Just wanted to say thanks for the video! You saved me some money

  • THANK YOU! my washing machine NEVER drained my clothes. i did what you did and i found a pound of lint, a half of a pencil. 80 cents, a pair of tweezers and a small pink gum ball. Now i know why it wouldn't drain my clothes lol.

  • Roger...Thanks for helping make my wife love me as much as Stacy loved you! I am now her hero as you were obviously Stacy's! BTW...when we all get to heaven please let it be our secret that I learned everything from your video! :)

  • Thanks, u r the true American Patriotic!

U save my life by posting the video, can't pay4the technicians now since I lost my job. Thanks again& god Bless U!

  • Roger must have been one amazing guy for giving his time to help people. May his memory be for a blessing.

  • thanks M8. my mums washing machine wasn't draining. watched this vid and emptied all the shit from the pump, problem solved!!! thank you for the upload. for some reason i opened up the entire machine and tried to take the pump out before i searched online for a solution! great help

  • Thank you so much. :) You are awesome.

  • THANK YOU! I bought a house and the washing machine came with it. It wasn't draining very well so I googled and found your video. Boy were you right about it being clogged! And it wasn't even from us!

I found a clump of dog hair the size of my hand, 2 pencils, numerous bobby pins & screws, a key, an allen wrench, a DS pen, some Lego, a plastic sword, $11.63 in change, a toe ring, some pebbles, a few pieces of both hard and soft plastic and a few items that I couldn't even identify!

  • @turtletatty This video was shot by my friend Rodger. Sadly, Rodger passed away from brain cancer in Nov, 2010. He was an amazing guy. It warms my heart to know he's still helping people even after he's passed. That's so Rodger.

  • @SpeakerTweaker very sorry to hear of Rodger's passing. Today he helped me fix my washer. Being a military wife I find it most difficult when my husband is deployed because that is when things break. I am grateful for Rodger taking the time to share his knowlege~things like this connect us all as Americans. Today he was my American Hero!

  • @turtletatty hummmm

  • well i took off that front panel and cleaned out that filter (3:16). how disgusting! cat hair, pieces of bras! money! and clumps of liquid fabric softener. and water all over the floor. i hope this works -- will finish watching if it doesn't.

  • That makes sense. Me and my brothers never empty our pockets when we start the start the washer. I havent checked the filter yet, but if its clogged, our mom will be happy to know its a simple fix. Thanks for the vid

  • It is easiest to pull the trap apart from the cap when you put it back together. once you screw the cap back on it will snap into the trap and your can get your trap in straight.

This is what you want to clean out if you have kids and your washer stops draining and/or spinning slowly.

  • I use a wet vac as i open the pump assembly.

  • This video saved my skin!! Thank you so very much.

  • Remember we unplugged the white connector to the pressure switch, hoping to reset it, and we blew out the black tiny hose ( diameter of a b-b) connected to it with our breath hoping to unclog it. We're not certain which one worked, but that did it!!! HOORAY!

  • connected to it. We took it off and blew air threw it. Also unplugged the wires into the pressure switch to reset it hopefully. When we put it back together, it finally did work!!! WOOOHOOO! Remember there was alot of coins, 2 pencils stuck into the filter that we removed, but then the pressure switch had to be reset. GOOD LUCK!

  • We did ALL this but however, it still wouldn;t work. We hooked the gray hose to the sink and backed up water into the washer. Then we put the power on drain/spin with the gray hose draining into our sink now (disconnected from the water nozzle). It drained out all the water showing pump was working. The problem now lies in the pressure switch at the top of the washer. Have to take the top of washer off and its on the right hand side. There;s a little black hose connec

  • This really saved us too like it did for everyone else. Very sorry to hear of his passing, his video really helped us.

  • Thank you! I took apart my dryer and washer cause I had them stacked and leveled my washer thinking that was the problem and of course it wasn't then I found your video. My filter was very dirty, cleaned it out now it works fine. Our washer has been down since before Christmas and it has been a pain commuting etc to clean our clothes. Thank you again for taking the time to post this!

  • Thank you, I just undrained my moms washer and I am sure it will now work. You were the only one to show how to unscrew the front panel, that was helpful. I found pink underwear lol and lots of coins as well as some bobby pins. Thanks :)

  • Stacy, I am so sorry to hear of Rodger's passing. He truly offered me a solution to my clogged drain.

  • You just saved me 200$ I had the exact same clog as you did. Nice job. Mine was a few bobby pins and plastic baggie.

  • I’ve been cursing my washing machine for two weeks now. I have three children, 2 that are potty training, my wash was piling up to the ceiling.......I just watched your video, took me 30 mins. to fix it. Thank you so much, I even learned what a hex screw is and that I owned a hex screwdriver (always wondered what that funny looking screwdriver was for). Also, I'm very sorry to hear of you loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

  • Thank you so much!!!

  • Thanks....we have a Duet HT and this really helped. Other than getting over the smell, this was really simple:-).

  • oh... since I didn't include a list: 1 pen, 1 pencil, 1 pair tweezers broken in two and some of the foulest smelling black gunk you have ever seen (or smelled... and I work in a hursing home...) No cash. :( But a perfectly working machine! :)

  • My husband and I just followed these steps for our "Duet ht" washer. The basic rules apply though he had to use the next size up 9/32 socket. It worked like a charm. If you haven't fished out all the water in the tub - then be prepared! We did and still had to use 5 towels to soak up the excess. THANK YOU!!! Awesome show great job... and I just read the posts and must say that this is a great way to live on touching God knows how many people in a meaningful way. Thanks for sharing his wisdom.

  • I lost my father 2 years ago in cancer as well. He had hepatocellular carcinoma (Liver cancer) and died within three months from the time of his diagnosis.

  • Sorry to hear for your loss Stacy. May he rest in peace. God bless him.

  • Stacy, When I started to post this message I hadn't read your last post. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was my hero today. Just wanted you know how much this video meant to me. Omg.Thanks so much Roger and Stacy! It is Dec 21st. Four days before Christmas and the day after my husbands birthday. I hate telling him the washer is broken It's 30 min of ranting and raving. With your video 20 min. problem solved with no fuss! Thank you so very much. Stacy I send you my prayers and hugs.

  • Hi Stacy. I'm so sorry to hear that Rodger passed away. I lost my mother on Oct. 14, 2010. Losing a loved one is a very difficult thing to go through. Anyway...Just wanted to say thanks for posting this video. I am a 36 year old mother of two and couldn't afford to pay for a repair man!! Rodger's video made it easy to fix myself :0) I never would have known I could do it!! My blessings are with you.

  • Thank you all for the nice comments. This is Rodger's wife Stacy. Rodger passed away on November 16, 2010 after a 10 month battle with cancer (glioblastoma multiforme). He was truly a wonderful sweet man and I miss him terribly. He loved fixing things and I'm glad he can still live on through the internet.

  • @excursivey Stacy....I am so sorry to hear about Roger and his losing battle to cancer. I was shocked to read about this....this is my second time using his very helpful video as my Whirlpool Duet is clogged again (we have 7 year old twin boys) probably with socks, change, and other things. Roger seems to have been a very good husband and man. My sincere condolences....God bless

  • Thanks for posting this! EZ fix for the average person. Now, do you know how to fix a JennAir oven that turns on by itself???
