Education should be free, it is everyone's right to an education no matter where you come from. The very fact that The Conservative Party & The Liberal Democrats have tripled the fee's of university education shows everyone who out of touch they are. @roby1211 Investment should be made in the ecomomy to boost the country's GDP instead of austerity cuts in the public sector which has been proven to have a huge impact on the private and third sectors. The only way to ensure education is free to the people of the UK is to have a strong economy that will generate huge sums of money through taxation and exports. Then that money should then be prioritised to ensure ALL students pay nothing towards an education. It should be protected!
Government spending does nothing to strengthen the economy, it will merely continue our slide to economic ruin. The idea of spending to increase GDP is ridiculous, lets get the government to take out even more debt just to artificially boost GDP. We now spend more on debt interest than on defence, yet people don't understand why we need cuts. Goverment investment has a huge impact on the performance and growth in the countries private sector, this has already been proven by the riculous decline in GDP that was released in January. The fact is the cuts are damaging to the economy, the investment of the goverment creates an incentive for business to come to the UK and invest in our country. If you comtinue to listen to Cameron youll end up poor and unemployed.
Any growth in the private sector from government expenditure is worthless growth, it is merely recycling money around the economy. Private sector growth from non government sources is what will get us out of this mess. The inbalance between numbers of private and public sector workers is a major contributing factor to this current situation. We had huge economic growth under Labour but a growth in deficit.

There are many things that governments can do to ensure that there is stable economic growth were there is a return in tax revenues. Tax breaks for sectors that are failing to meet taxation demands. Dont just take all the support away.

There has been a growing inbalance in public sector vs private sector over the last decade, resulting in annual government deficits well before the credit crunch. I work with a lot of business owners and they have seen this coming for years. Labour's answer to fixing something was simply to throw more money at it, artificially growing the economy with government debt.

I'm revising for exams that the newspapers keep telling me are really easy, to get into a over-subscribed university course that I'll be paying for until I'm middle aged, to get a job so I can start paying off a national debt that my generation had nothing to do with and to fund the pensions of those that did.

@wovokanarchy I haven't had a privileged life, I grew up in wythenshawe. I have a part time job and it would be impossible for any part time salary to cover both my tuition fees and basic living costs, as is the case with most working class people at uni. In North America it is only the privileged with inheritance who can afford the fees, only a lucky an brilliant few get scholarships. The student population is a source of income for many and the money is re-circulated in the economy.

A great majority of college kids work and pay for their own educational goals. That's what has made the states so great , achievement through merit and hard work and not on class or mommy and daddy's connections.

Education should be free, it is everyone's right to an education no matter where you come from. The very fact that The Conservative Party & The Liberal Democrats have tripled the fee's of university education shows everyone who out of touch they are. People who are looking for someone to blame for the huge economic crash, blame the banks not the Labour Party. If it wasnt for the Labour Party the whole world would still be in a deep recession and we would have been facing even larger raises.

@roby1211 Investment should be made in the ecomomy to boost the country's GDP instead of austerity cuts in the public sector which has been proven to have a huge impact on the private and third sectors. The only way to ensure education is free to the people of the UK is to have a strong economy that will generate huge sums of money through taxation and exports. Then that money should then be prioritised to ensure ALL students pay nothing towards an education. It should be protected!

Government spending does nothing to strengthen the economy, it will merely continue our slide to economic ruin. The idea of spending to increase GDP is ridiculous, lets get the government to take out even more debt just to artificially boost GDP. We now spend more on debt interest than on defence, yet people don't understand why we need cuts. How about we don't have thousands of people pointlessly going to university for "something to do" as is unfortunately the case for many.

Goverment investment has a huge impact on the performance and growth in the countries private sector, this has already been proven by the riculous decline in GDP that was released in January. The fact is the cuts are damaging to the economy, the investment of the goverment creates an incentive for business to come to the UK and invest in our country. Any growth in the private sector from government expenditure is worthless growth, it is merely recycling money around the economy. Private sector growth from non government sources is what will get us out of this mess. The inbalance between numbers of private and public sector workers is a major contributing factor to this current situation. We had huge economic growth under Labour but a growth in deficit.

Unfortunately the economy in the UK needs all the support from goverment as it just isnt strong enough anymore. There are many things that governments can do to ensure that there is stable economic growth were there is a return in tax revenues. Tax breaks for sectors that are failing to meet taxation demands. Dont just take all the support away.

It tells the facts, but I think you view anything that doesn't agree with your views as being biased. There has been a growing inbalance in public sector vs private sector over the last decade, resulting in annual government deficits well before the credit crunch. I work with a lot of business owners and they have seen this coming for years. Labour's answer to fixing something was simply to throw more money at it, artificially growing the economy with government debt.

We don't condone the violence, it is senseless, but we are not greedy, we have a right to education in this country, that is being made unattainable by the cost rises. I'm revising for exams that the newspapers keep telling me are really easy, to get into a over-subscribed university course that I'll be paying for until I'm middle aged, to get a job so I can start paying off a national debt that my generation had nothing to do with and to fund the pensions of those that did.

How about getting a job to pay for your own education like they do in American and Canada. @wovokanarchy Erm the uni students who were protesting wont have to pay the extra fees, so a lot of them wont have been acting for themselves. And it annoys me how people presume we all have inheritance, One of the reasons student loans exist is so people from destitute backgrounds can create better opportunities for themselves. If the cap on tuition fees is increased much more the spoilt bastards you just described will be the only ones who can excel in higher education.

@wovokanarchy I haven't had a privileged life, I grew up in wythenshawe. I have a part time job and it would be impossible for any part time salary to cover both my tuition fees and basic living costs, as is the case with most working class people at uni. In North America it is only the privileged with inheritance who can afford the fees, only a lucky an brilliant few get scholarships. The student population is a source of income for many and the money is re-circulated in the economy.

@EbsNhexz That's rubbish. A lot of North American working class kids attend college or university through student loans and they pay it off after graduation. A great majority of college kids work and pay for their own educational goals. That's what has made the states so great , achievement through merit and hard work and not on class or mommy and daddy's connections.

If the tuition fees increase much more the only the kids from high income backgrounds will be able to attend. British kids take out student loans and pay them back after graduation as well! its not free state money! The loans are used to pay the high tuition fees and the cost of living is sustained by part time work.
