  • you guys don't have to justify the way he's singing, like hes a heavy smoker or something. in fact, i do like his voice in this song, beneath all the faults you guys see i can sense a lot of spirit

  • I dont see whats wrong with this performance, the mixing is bad, but that's not really their fault.

  • K guys. First of all, this is a really high song, they're on TV and he was probably REALLY nervous, this was in 06 or earlier, and this was probably when he was still smoking. I saw them live about a month ago, and it was PERFECT. No lie. He didn't go off a single time.

  • To be fair this song contains the highest notes out of any song they've written and playing guitar whilst singing that is no mere task. I wouldn't have chosen that song to play live on TV though.

  • @rolfeder Nope.

  • I wouldn't be able to sing with those bouncing in front of me.....

  • @TooCoolidge i know right

  • everyone can stfu about not being able to hit high notes. seriously? have you seen them live? if you havent then you're an idiot. and if you have and you don't like the live show then stay home. they're beyond epic live.

  • @selfenterprise have you er seen him do this song live for neverender because he kills it

  • Man, Claudio's really struggling to hit those high notes in this song. Which sucks, since most of the notes are high.

  • what song is this again? i know i have it but i cnt find it

  • @TheNick394 A favor house atlantic

  • i feel like in all of his songs live he doesnt sing in the same parts...and i love it for some reason

  • Claudio hasn't gotten better at singing in my opinion. He can't sing as high as he used to. Favor House can't even be played properly live anymore. I still love Coheed though <3

  • @SelfEnterprise The guy is getting older, it happens. :(

  • hey at least they are actually singing/performing live right? they are amazing live. :]

  • "Hi mom" on his guitar. Fucking epic.

    Long live Co&Ca.

  • Comment removed

  • Um this is the first time Coheed was on Tv.

    Claudio was fucking nervous.

He's fucking amazing live. So STFU

  • when was this recorded?

  • probably 2004

  • u sir are an idiot...

  • i guess you need a grammar check in your comment boxes

  • negative, and false opinions aren't worth posting....

  • I dont think you've ever seen him live. I have multiple times and he is flawless. He has acid reflux disease and this was way before he learned to control his voice

  • I agree, but at this point in The Coheed saga Claudio must've had some vocal lessons because I just saw this clip of them when they all had really short hair and it looks like they were playing in some REALLY small venue. Anyways, the point is is that he is singing much better whenever this was filmed. But now...FLAWLESS

  • have you ever even seen the starlight ballroom videos, hes at his prime!

  • I love hearing the bass better on this video, usually I can hardly hear any bass at all but it def adds a better kick to the song overall =]

  • How the fuck can you even type this? its your opinion but its wrong of course.

  • the reason he cant sing sometimes is because he has acid reflux

  • how many bloody explorers does coheed own?!? clearly enough that he can scrawl hi mom on one for a laugh

  • @evilducky2 this is possibly the most incorrect and retarded statement that i have ever had the displeasure of reading. get back to listening to the jonas brothers doucher

  • its amazing how far they've come from this to today. i mean theve progressed in every and all aspects of their proformance. his voice is 10 million times better and so is there playing. not to mention that every new album they came out with was a new sound and still coheed, they were all more technically sound then the last. coheed is legendary, so big ups to any band that can do what they do and have done. :)

  • Right on man, C&C forever!

  • holy crap his hairds short..... haha. and hell yea i agree with his voice improvement!

  • is it just me or does claudio look blonde, cause the video coloring is messed up?

  • This is just a bad showing, you can tell that Claudio had gotten better at pacing himself and now (2009) is very good live.

  • its not that bad of a live preformance its actually pretty good but i agree totally him and coheed have gotten much better they are an awesome band especially with the good apollo records

  • You know it!

  • To often...

  • how those who dont suffer live easily huh beef?

  • stick your thumb up your ass dickhead

  • studio voice good , live not so.. the songs tear this guy up.. its liek you watch the progression of delierium trigger from early to now and you see he cant do it and all along the way you see that its takign its toll....

  • I saw them live on their tour from slipknot and trivium about a month ago, and his singing was actually really good. So I guess it's just on a day to day...he has acid reflux too, and that sometimes affects his voice.

  • Coheed is one of the best bands i have ever seen live...this was a bad performance he was probably really nervous

  • As a reply to all of these, if you look up any live clips from the last few years, including just acoustic performances, his voice is near perfect live. His voice wasn't as good live back then, but this show in particular was just a bad fluke in my opinion, he sounds like he is very out of breath and tired when you listen to him. Also, from what I've heard the acid reflux thing is just a rumor that actually isn't true, but I've heard accounts that he's said it's true and some that it's not

  • Its pretty difficult to play the guitar like that and sing at the same time... hes not exactly just playing power chords you know...

  • not trying to be a dick or anything but what claudio plays in this song is pretty much all power chords

  • in this particular sng he is just playing power chords..

  • it actually is just power chords that claudio is playing and singing to a simple time signature. But most of the songs are extremely hard to play and sing. Espcially using his vocal range .

  • His emotion is powerful. You can see in him that his thoughts are akin to "I'll make you proud, mom!"

  • this must have been his first time on tv. he does seem a little nervous.

  • Man, you can barely hear the guitars. Claudio is so nervous, it's kind of endearing.

  • maybe he had a sore throat that day.

  • His hair is So short, also lovin the "Hi Mom" on this guitar

  • generally is voice isn't that good live

  • how dare you disrespect claudio lol

  • Have u seen videos of this song live. They're alot better now.

  • this song is usaully the first peak of there set list so its ment to be kinda iffy lol

  • Oh my goodness look at how young they all are!!

Haha oh back in the day.

  • Is that "HiMom" on his guitar?! Haha nice!

  • i like that the bass is turned up ;)

  • He's out of breath.

  • acid reflux.

hes tryin to keep some tasty stuff down =p

  • Nah, he's probably extremely nervous. They hadn't been on tv much before this, i'm guessing. He's much more confident now..

  • haha

  • hi mom

  • nice!

  • favor house ATLANTIC

  • totally retro dude lol love it

  • Bad sound guy, he need to turn Claudio's guitar up.

  • Claudio is the sexiest man alive!

  • haha claudio sounds so nervous. still good though.

  • WHOA!!! blast from the past xDDD

    pure awesome

  • house of atlantic

  • Blood red summer ;]

  • HI MOM lol claudio your great

  • Josh makes the best faces xDD

  • haha indeed.

  • <33 they're so awesome!

  • i like that he replaces some high notes w/ raspier "screams" in this performance.

  • I think I heard somewhere that this was their first TV performance.

  • Damn, his voice was leaving on him.

  • you try singing that whole song pretty much at least three times a day on tours and le tme know how your voice is.

  • the dude was just making an observation chill out ...

  • haha so was i dood just stating fact also.

  • he always has nice facial hair...if thats not weird...

  • wth? look at his Explorer lol mom?

  • I don't think he looks fat in this. Also, I can't see how he could look chubby in this, but normal in photos before and after this.

  • Josh scares me with the drumming, he plays lefty on a righty set...unsettling, yet AWESOME

  • Look at Josh's face, looks like hes bloody drooling (* drums...drips....drums....drips *) Lmfao 5/5

  • love this song and this is awesome, but claudio tries to scream too much for me, i think he kind of overdid it on this one

  • i loved joshes faces when he played lmao

  • i hate the new addition of backup singers

  • If you watched last night, Jimmy Kimmel always pronounces there name incorrectly be goes " Coheed & Camebria " Like its spelled like Camebridge...Its CAMbria..Like Cam...era

  • the only reason why his voice is way of from the original song is because its changing plus it was sped up and what not so if anyway is a hater take it somewhere else because c&c kicks ass hardcore

  • HI MOM lmfao I would do that to my bass, if not for the lack of money, to just buy another one :P

  • its tape so he doesnt need a new guitar

  • its tape so he doesnt need a new guitar

  • I figured as much.. they were on last night...played Feathers and Welcome home...was pretty kick ass

  • he DOES have acid reflux, he's not probably not nervous, the acid reflux messes with his singing in live performances alot

  • Cant wait to see them once again MARCH 5th 2008 on Jimmy Kimmel. Hopefully they play NWFT instead of Feathers.

  • haha he's so nervous he can barely sing.

  • his voice his awkward.

    :l

  • Welcome Home had not been written when this was recorded.

  • Ther are no gay coheed songs. This song rocks!

  • you're a dumbfuck.

  • claudios actually a pretty strong guy. definetly the best prog rock band today (along with rush of course)

  • im sure this was pretty soon after in keeping secrets of silent earth came out

  • i love claudio so much!!! i think he looks better chubby!ha!

  • hell yeah!!!

  • agreed :D

  • Check out Poppa Chubby!

  • well most big guys play bass, did u ever notice i did. lol (only cause im big and play bass lol)

  • amazing performance but wtf why does claudio look so fat son guess tv really does put on a few pounds

  • Mmm.. claudio is so pretty! lol. i luv him!

  • fucking hell who's the PA man, get a sniper on him! Volume levels suck

  • DAMN ACID REFLUX!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow singing that looks like hell.

  • wow i think he ate some real spicy sausage and has some acid comin up, i agree with joelbassman

  • why is josh playing a tama?

  • joelbassman u gotta be kidding me.. acid reflux.. sure its possible he has it but he would be burping if it was acting up u idiot

  • Um... yeah, it's a well known fact that Claudio has acid reflux... luckily, though, at the show I saw last night... his voice was PERFECT.

  • Acid reflux doesn't necessarily make you burp. It can make you feel like you're breathing fire tho...

  • his hair was shorter!!!

  • ha look at his hair

  • lol it says HI MOM on his guitar

  • jeez this is old--aren't they playing jimmy kimmel again soon?

  • they were supposed to earlier in November, but because of the writers' strike, it got postponed...

  • oh oh oh

  • yeah he sounds extremely tired. i love coheed!

  • furthermor, i know that Claudio is pretty much THE head guy in CoCa, but without his band, he wouldn't be anything. Josh was an amazing drummer, and Mike is a badass on the bass, and Travis is every bit as good as Claudio.

  • it's nice to see that Josh is still with them in this video. i'm not diggin' that Taylor hawkins did the tracking for the new album. since they got Chris Pennie from TDEP he should have tracked with them. i think he will put a much better flavor on things, he's a much more accomplished drummer than Taylor any day!

  • He couldn't do the tracking on the album, due to contractual restrictions not yet cleared from his days with Dillenger. The producer of No World For Tommorow had worked with the Foo Fighters in the past, that being the reason why Taylor Hawkins was called in as a replacement.

  • i thought that may have been the reason, but if i was coheed, even though i'm sure there were deadlines and excitement and whatever else, i would have waited, i bet it will sound way different with Chris behind the drums. thanks for the info. much appreciated!

  • No Doubt, probably would have had more of a traditional Coheed vibe to it, with a little extra kick of course! and no problem :]

  • Although I must say Taylor Hawkins does a fabulous job on the album. but I did just see them play and Chris Pennie is rediculous good behind the kit.

  • this one of my least favorite performances by them.

  • I agree, but look at how short Claudio's hair is! the mixing is awfull you can barely hear Claudio's guitar

  • yea n he looks kinda "big" but w/e

  • Does anybody know what year this is from?

  • 2006 dude. it's in 'about this video'

  • He voice is really tired

  • fucking claudio gets a badass adrenaline rush! its a fucking classic cant wait to see them tour

  • They are going to be on Jimmy Kimmel Nov. 8th. You (Zakk1389) should record it and put it on here.

  • uhh josh on tama drums? this was a while back though :D

  • Claudio sounds so nervous in this, you can hear it in his vocal inflections. I've never heard him like that before.

  • 1. I'm glad Claudio got over his nervousness in live shows. He sounds so much better now.

    2. I love the "HI MOM" on his guitar :P Classic.

  • Yeah, Chris Pennie is the newest addition to the band. Josh Eppard is truly an amazing drummer, don't get me wrong... Chris has just had much more experience and is a much more accredited musician than Josh, thus making him a better drummer. Now, wether or not he play's Coheed and Cambria's songs better than Josh is debatable... But purely speaking in terms of musical talent, Chris Pennie is a better drummer and will prove to be so in years to come, just you wait and see ;)

  • Eh, probably for the best Josh went his own way, His rap project is insane. if you didn't know about it, check out purevolume,com/weerdscience

  • If u think Josh was bad, listen to The Crowing, The Velorium Camper songs and the Willing Well songs. he is awesome in the willing well 2 i think it is.

  • no doubt those were great and he played awesome on those songs...it's just that the other guys in this band were on a COMPLETELY higher level.

  • Josh is an ok drummer but he definatly is the weakest link of this band...i think he's holding them back alittle...there new drummer is better.

  • fuck u, u prick

  • the drummer was a drunk hes probably at a bar!

  • fuck you, josh eppard is and was a fuckin awesome drummer who wrote awesome material. a cool dude too, but for the curious "uneasylistening666" he's nolonger in the band, chris penny is the new drummer, he was the drummer for the dillinger escape plan. mike todd, bassist, also left, but he's back now.

  • What happend to the drummer? Where is he now?

  • the shit.

  • aww, i feel bad, claudio was really nervous...

  • wow look at josh eppard. i will always miss those days

  • coheed rules L.A> drools

  • :(

He must of felt abit crap after this

The crowd really wern't into it

  • when is this from?

  • i dont know... sometime in 2005 i think

  • No dude this is from like '03 '04.

You can always tell from the size of Claudio's hair.

    :)

  • It's '03, I'm pretty sure, because he's still got his snakebites in and Josh's hair is still really short.
