Hi, I just spent some time checking out your art on your website and I must say I am very impressed with your Dragons as well as you Tigers. Your spore creations really impressed my 12 yr old son who uses spore. You have a very promising career if you keep up the drawing and practice the light sources.
Greetings and Happy New Year. Thanks again for all the supportive comments they are very much appreciated. I wish you all great success in your career and Hobbies in drawing. I am currently working on uploading more tutorials in the coming weeks.
I love it! What are some good tips that you can give to aspiring artists such as myself who feel lost and are feeling frustrated with the level that they are at in there artwork?
Very superb drawing. The dragon is truly a marvelous creature to draw. I was caught in awe when you brought it to life. My family too is artistic. My parents like to draw animals and wildlife and my brother like to draw manga. Me , i perfer midevil and dragons as im sure your probably well aware of.
I still need more practice to get as good as you are. Shading especially. Anyways i give this clip a 5/5. Good work man , hope to seeing more dragon drawings in the future.
Thanks for the kudos. I will be uploading some new color techniques clips soon. I have been consumed by soon to be "How to Fantasy creatures and Dragons artbook" for the past year.
Nice dragon Ed. I was wondering but I don't really know what kind of lead I use for shading but when my pictures tend to be loaded with lead and really dark, they reflect light and its pretty annoying. I like my projects to have the full range of black to white so yeah middle tone is not my favorite thing x).Takes foreverrr. I've always thought as smudging as "cheating" when you shade but hey, its hella faster lol. Anything I can use to stop the light reflecting?
Hi, I use the Derwent series drawing graphite 2b mid to dark, 4b softer and darker and HB semi hard for fine gradients. I use a strathmore 300 series paper which cuts down on the reflection as it absorbs into the paper more than coated papers do. As to using Tortillions, you still have to pencil shade those mid to light tones but blending allows for a smoother blend and fine subtleties. Thanks, Ed
Hey Ed! I have watch you're videos 10000 times now, and finely i think i can draw too. I have study you're shading, and i still can't understand how it possible to make it so beautiful! Anyway, I'm learning! :D How long have you been a artist? Love you're work! I'm drawing a new dragon now, and i hope you want to look at it, and tell me what you think about it. =) Thanks :)
Hey dude, do you use any special materials or just have particularly dry hands? Every project I take up ends up stained with a mixture of sweat, pencil lead and eraser residue. Maybe you explained it throughout the video, if so, sorry for skipping it, I just needed to wonder at how your result is so immaculate.
Hi, Thanks for checking my video out. I tend to have pretty dry hands but if not I will use a paper towel or clean cloth to rest my palm on. Generally I work from top down left to right and dark to light with erasing out highlights that take out any unwanted smudge.
hi im a drawer also im a bigginer so if you could post any tutorials about drawing elves, orcs dragons...cause i really like to draw dragons but not good nice drawing 5/5
