I was in my teens when I used to watch these Jimmy the Cab Driver shorts and Joe's Apartment.I remember staying up till 2AM to see Pearl Jam's video for Alive. That seemed to be the only time they would play it. I loved it! MTV was awesome back then. That's how my parents used to ground me, "No, MTV and bring me the cord to your radio!". (We couldn't afford batteries. :) Ah, good times.
