Barak says we spend $12B per month on Iraq war (it's more than that actually).We spend over $1Trillion to support Iraq and the 760 military bases in 130 countries (we guard their borders). I remember this time in the mid eighties he is talking about SO well. I gre up an hour from Chicago. My dad, uncles, friends and even my husband had worked in the Steel Mills, and all lost their jobs. We had to start over. Many of us lost everything, our homes, had to rent, had to borrow money to pay our taxes, had our heat shut off, etc. All because we started importing cheaper Steel from Japan. Most of those mills are still shut down. It affected the automobile industry as well.
