I agree, its like Kariya said, Mugen is stronger and faster and unpridictable but he lacks skill. While Jin is a master of Mujuushin Kenjitsu^^ and the difference in skill between him and kariya is 'paper thin' as kariya said.
You obviosly havent watched the show enough nor have the insight to know that Mugen and Jin are an equal match. The two have different disciplines, and ur wrong, Mugen is equally confident, just more cocky. Mugen isnt a lucky swinger, he has Superhuman capacities, meaning he has exceptional strength, speed, stamina, and also coordination.
