Allama Iqbal was not a Pakistani poet, Pakistan didn't exist during his lifetime, he died in 1938 and the Pakistan declaration was adopted by Indian Muslim League in 1940. So he might not have even guessed that there was going to be a nation called Pakistan after his death. In this song, he says "Hindustan Hamara" and "Hindi hai hum"! India has no problems with Pakistan whatsoever. Pakistan on the other hand was created to divide India, so who should preach unity and friendship?

This great poem was written by Allama Muhammad Iqbal, a great poet-philosopher and active political leader. He descended from a family of Kashmiri brahmins but his grandfather, had to embrace Islam. In 1904, Iqbal, then a young lecturer at the Government College, Lahore, was invited by his student Lala Hardayal - a patriot who established the Gadar Party in the US, to a meeting. @ASLAMCP1 Umm not true...Allama Iqbal was originally from Lahore, which we can all agree is in Pakistan, so that means he never "went" to Pakistan because he was already there. Allama Iqbal helped form Pakistan in the sense he was a strong (and famous) supporter, and is seen as a Pakistani national icon.

Allama Iqbal was not a Pakistani poet, Pakistan didn't exist during his lifetime, he died in 1938 and the Pakistan declaration was adopted by Indian Muslim League in 1940. So he might not have even guessed that there was going to be a nation called Pakistan after his death. In this song, he says "Hindustan Hamara" and "Hindi hai hum"! India has no problems with Pakistan whatsoever. Pakistan on the other hand was created to divide India, so who should preach unity and friendship?

This is like saying "Islam is a Pakistani religion". Islam does not belong to Pakistan. Urdu does not belong to Pakistan either because it originated long before 1947, in the region now known as Uttar Pradesh, which is not in Pakistan.
The state of pakistan was created in 1947, and no one, not even Jinnah, called himself "Pakistani" before that. Allama Iqbal did not live long enough to become a "Pakistani".

English will not become a Pakistani language EVEN IF Pakistan claims that English is its national language. Punjabi is a Pakistani language, Sindhi is a Pakistani Language, Pashto is a Pakistani language, Baluchi is a Pakistani language. Urdu is not a Pakistani language EVEN IF Pakistan claims so. Had he lived till 1947, Allama (like Md.Rafi or Bade Ghulam Ali Khan) might have decided not to become a Pakistani! How can you choose his future country after his death?

@KingGuli1 hello king guli, my father informed me about this poem. it was actually written in 1906. he is NOT pakistani, but an indian, as he passed away in 1938. moreover, Mahatma Gandhi is said to have sung it over a hundred times when he was imprisoned at Yerawada Jail in Pune in the 1930s.
